Although the initial experience at Fender Mender was fine, it has come to my attention the way my vehicle was repaired was not up to standards. When I called to ask questions about my bumper being plastic welded back together, I spoke to the owner Barry. Barry was incredibly unprofessional, told me I had no idea what I was talking about, and refused to even listen to my complaints. It appears if you tell Barry the work he did was not up to par, Barry raises his voice, curses at customers, and refuses to cooperate because, "He works on cars for a living, and (the customers) do not." I've taken multiple vehicles to Fender Mender for repairs since before they moved from Keller to Roanoke. Some have been self-pay and others insurance-pay. They've been easy to work with and got the job done right. My last self-pay repair, they mistakenly missed that my Lexus paint was pearlescent on the quote. They added the pearlescent and the paint matched beautifully, and they honored the quoted price, even though the pearlescent paint additive is expensive. Very poor and unprofessional service. Invoice changed upwards 3 times by more than $375. Vehicle not repaired correctly and owner was extremely rude on the phone and in-person, regarding misalignment of hood. Call to PD did not help. I would NOT take my vehicle here. Deceptive business practice and dishonest delivery. Owner asked us to leave and stated he did not care who we called. $1200 bill later, car is incorrectly repaired. read more

All of the employees are kind and communicative, easy to reach, and are straight forward and to the point about any issues they come across. Barry did a great job reaching out to me when issues arose with my insurance, and updated me even when I failed to hear from my insurance company. Not only was the repair work done on my car phenomenal, but they went above and beyond and made sure my car was in perfect condition when I picked it up, all in a matter of 2 weeks! I cannot even begin to describe how appreciative I am for this business and the staff at Fender Mender. They are genuinely good people, who will do you right. After a fiasco trying to deal with the two large chain body shops in the area, someone recommended Fender Mender in Roanoke. I can't say enough good things about this company. Barry does business the way it should be done. He scheduled the repair after the parts arrived, unlike one of the big chains who wanted us to leave the car - which was perfectly fine to drive - while they waited weeks or months on parts to arrive, or the other one who didn't even accept Allstate insurance. Do not leave your car for repairs at Fender Mender unless you have an unlimited time do without it. FENDER MENDER HAS NO PLAN ABOUT THE WAY THEY WILL PROCEED IN HANDLEING REPAIRS TO YOUR VECHILE. (FYI. OUR CAR WAS AND IS DRIVEABLE) A suggested PLAN: 1 Be an advocate for the customer,. Explain the process and let them know what to expect. 2 Make an evaluation for obvious parts they will need. In our case there was a dent in the door , it needs a new a new door . 3 Order the major parts and then the repair department can schedules a day closer to the realistic time they can begin repairs. Then you can take your car in an they can begin repairs. 4 Stay in touch with your customer within the process and be realistic. I'm not in this business and yet I can suggest a few ways to help the process for everyone included. - At F M request , we called ahead for an appointment to have our Honda CRV repaired, it was one month ahead. We took it in on the pre-arrainged day to leave it. Three days later we realized they had not given an estimate on when the car would be ready . So we called ,they had not even looked at our car, and our answer from them was , " It would be at LEAST 10 MORE DAYS., AT LEAST ! ! They have our co-pay from our insurance. We did our do part . . THEY WERE GOING TO LET OUR CAR SIT IN THEIR LOT FOR A WEEK OR TWO WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT IT. Customer service does not exist here. We're picking up our car today. read more

The best. Had more dealings with Barry and his team then I care to but they are the best in my humble opinion. First experience was when my Camry's front fender was hit by a teenager while in Louisiana. Her dad understandably did not want to sing his insurance so we ran to four different places to get estimates. Barry at Fender menders was 1/2 the price of the others. The father was grateful when I sent him their estimate. They did the work quickly and with quality. Then I had my daughter from school in town and Barry fixed her loose fender and popped out her quarter panel in a quick (we are selling it soon) type job. I found the Fender Mender here on Yelp back in April 2014 after I needed my front AND back bumper replaced on my 2013 Camaro & I also needed my whole windshield replaced. I didn't necessarily want to go through insurance for the whole cost of the repairs since the damages were all caused in separate incidents.. So I fixed my front fender and headlight through my insurance and the back bumper and windshield out of my pocket. I went to 2 different places for my windshield first before i went here (one other local place near me in HEB; they wanted over $700.... I was like NO WAY.. I literally thought those guys were trying to rip me off because i'm a woman.. YES that stuff still happens LOL.. The second place was Safelite, the national company, and they quoted me at $500 but I still wanted to look for other shops) Thank God I looked on Yelp and found the Fender Mender.. I called them and talked to Barry, the owner, and YES he is as good as everyone says! He told me a time I can bring my car in for a quote, and I was more than surprised when they quoted the windshield right at $400 and both of the bumpers a little over $400 a piece. It was a lot of money but WELL WORTH IT considering they do GREAT QUALITY WORK and they even beat most competitors' prices. For detailed jobs like this one, don't expect your car back in a day or 2. i had to wait almost a week but like i said.. their quality of work, customer service AND their great rates are incomparable. There was another incident literally 2 months later where a driver on the highway clipped my mirror and slightly dented my door.. I knew right where to go & brought my car to the Fender Mender for a quote... It was only $240 and some change to get my mirror and door buffed and repainted.. A great deal and a huge relief as I was expecting upwards of $400+ in damages. If you live in the HEB area, NRH or nearby Keller, they will even drop you off if they need to keep your car for repairs. They will also come pick you up at your house when it's ready- this is a real plus and really speaks for their level of customer service. There really is no auto body shop i have had as pleasant of an experience with.. This is my 5th car (my first new one) and i have had my share of mechanics/body shops.. These guys, in my opinion, are one of the best, if not the best, value & quality in the HEB area, if not all of DFW. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all your auto body needs, big & small!! read more

I got t-boned a couple weeks ago. State Farm directed me to this place, so that's where I had my poor SUV towed. I wasn't sure about going here at first but they were really nice, and they did a heck of a job on my poor Forester. If you have State Farm insurance, this place is one of their "preferred" places so it's super easy to go here - practically no paperwork to do on your end. It's awesome. What was also very helpful, is that the Enterprise Rent-A-Car is just a few doors down, which was also preferred by State Farm, so I could drop off my wreck, then go rent another! I also asked if they could shampoo the carpets of my Forester, thanks for me leaving soaking wet golf shoes in it for 2 days (don't do that - it's gross). It is nice and clean and the repairs are spot-on. Looks great, drives great - I recommend this place! read more

So, my son stuck a piece of artwork into my rear passenger window slot. I tried to pull off the panel to get it out myself, but after getting the panel partway off, i gave up because I was concerned i would damage the door. Took a car to a dealership on the weekend to get it fixed. I figured i should go to a body shop, but none were open near where I was at in Richardson to run a 5K. They (the dealership) first quoted $125, which is about $40 bucks more than a window repair place quoted me. Negotiated the dealer down to $100 They did the work, but there was a HUGE gap on the top. It looked no better than when i brought it in (except that they did get the artwork out.) Told them that they didn't put it on right. The service tech tried to fix it for 15 minutes and then attempted to convince me that i had damaged the door before bringing it in, and that they have done all they could. Sadly, i eventually allowed him to convince me. I thanked him for his time and left. But the more i thought about it, the more convinced i became that they just didn't know what they were doing. I have been depressed since, because, while my car is not new, i have worked hard to keep it looking nice. EVERYTHING GOT BETTER WHEN I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO FENDER MENDERS! They fixed it in 10 minutes and didn't charge me a penny. The Toyota shop just didn't put it together right. Toyota of Richardson: If you can't fix it, don't try to charge me $125 dollar's to do it wrong. Fender Menders, you just earned a life long customer! read more

They always do an amazing job, body work, paint, very detail oriented. The owner Barry always over sees things and makes sure they are handled properly. The office staff is great too, they know exactly what's going on so when you call they can offer answers about progress on your vehicle. I had a couple of minor things (bumper got knock out of it's tab and my seal on the window was off) and the owner (I assume) fixed it right away in the parking lot at no charge although he was really busy. State Farm recommended Fender Mender. I had minor damage to my front bumper, but it damaged the collision avoidance system. It took 9 days to get it completed. They replaced the front tires, had it aligned and calibrated. It was clean and perfectly repaired. Communication was great. My car is as good as new. It took a little longer than I expected but it is spotless. It was a complicated repair. The radar was damaged. They took it to Honda for calibration, which took two days to complete. read more

This is the first review I have ever written but I had to. My escalade got hit by a 16 year old driver in a small car. My car had marks all through the side and on the bumper. I took it to fender bender and told them I wanted to see what could be done without having to claim on this poor kids insurance. AVOID FENDER MENDER AT ALL COST. I went in there to get a bumper replaced through insurance. Brought it in with no other issues and left with my vehicle throwing a myriad of codes. When asked the guy, who would refuse to give me his name, got very defensive and said that they had been on and they were pre-existing and came in with them or that they were caused by it sitting there for a long period of time; it had been there less than a week, he said it had been there for over two so obviously something sketchy there. I also know it did not come in with these codes because I had gotten it inspected the day before and the codes it has on would have caused it to fail but it passed with flying colors. The unnamed "gentleman" yelled at me in front of other customers and would give me neither his or the owners name. Turns out, thanks to a business card, the owner is Barry who was right there defending this guy yelling at a young woman who was concerned about her vehicle all of a sudden being broken and never stepping in. I should have listened to the reviews about this place so fault is in me. Just please try to avoid them and the mess that I went through. One good point, the paint matches beautifully so kudos to their paint guy. read more

I brought my car in for an additional estimate after I had recently been in an accident involving a semi truck. I had brought in other estimates done by other places in order to compare it to Fender Mender. I was very disappointed that the staff who inspected my car did not do a full inspection, or even one that could be considered "good." My car was only looked at from behind for less than a minute. I had to show the staff myself where the damage was as they did nothing to even look for it or write it down on the estimation. The inspection/estimation was very poor and I did not feel safe knowing that my car was not fully inspected for any underlying or further damage. After I showed them the comparison of another (VERY thorough estimation), they encouraged me to basically commit insurance fraud and pocket the money. Very disappointed at the lack of professionalism and trustworthiness exhibited by this establishment. I did not feel safe leaving my car in their hands. read more
