After canceling and/or not showing 3 times, our sales rep came out on June 8th to see what we needed. We reviewed the changes needed for our existing fence and agreed on an installation date and price. Installation was supposed to be around June 27th. Today is July 22nd, and our fence was just installed. Sales Rep: 1 star Our install crew was great! The only problem they had was they didn't know what the scope of work was, and they had the wrong fencing. Not their fault, they were given what was assigned to them. Once I realized they had the 2" black chain link and told them they needed to match our existing 1" black chain, they immediately called the office and corrected it. There were also no notes on the contract that showed what the scope was, so I had to walk the team through everything. Again, not their problem. Fence was put in the way I wanted, and looks great. Installation team: 5 stars Right before the fence was finished we decided to call into the office and explain our displeasure with the situation. Denise could not have been more helpful! Immediately realized a lot was missing on our order/contract, and made sure to send out a Project Manager to ensure everything was to our liking. Denise (Customer Service): 5 stars Raphael showed up and went through everything with me, pulled up the contract, saw the lack of information, and made sure I was happy with how everything turned out. Very professional and thorough. Raphael: 5 stars Being the math master that I am, (1+5+5+5)/4 = 4 stars. Would have been better if our sales rep hadn't caused so many issues by not putting any notes or measurements into the contract. That said, I would continue to work with Wayne Fence, and might even give our sales rep a shot at redemption.

a&w is truly an outstanding company…read more.. this'll be a very lengthy review but i make it so to highlight this company's integrity and excellent work ethics... my mom needed a privacy fence so after she saved up the funds i began reading all pertinent reviews and solicited via email 14 fence companies out of those who advertised locally... i had the a&w fence corp. as number 1 on my list because of their most positive reviews and the least negative ones... only 3 of those 14 companies ever responded but i was very glad that a&w fence corp. was among those 3... i set up an appointment with wladimir from a&w at my mom's house and during it we've walked the perimeter of my mom's property as i've explained what i was looking for... wlad said that they've never done some custom mods i wanted but that they were certainly game for it... he emailed me a detailed projected invoice a day or two later... it was near my projected cost so we've decided to not even bother with setting up an appointment with those other 2 companies because after all, a&w was right at the top of my list... i've emailed the other 2 outfits that we're now committed and we've set up a 2nd appointment with wlad at my mom's to sign the official contract... we've signed the contract for the job at the exact price we've been sent the a&w estimate invoice for and gave wlad a down payment check... we had the survey for my mom's property already and we've opted for a&w co. to apply for my mom's township permit on our behalf... wlad told us that it'll be about 3-4 weeks before the factory they use will have all the components in the green color we wanted in stock... it actually took less than 3 weeks for the components to arrive and we've next set up an appointment for the a&w's crew to commence work, which was scheduled for just a few days later... this was all happening much faster than what i've been led to believe by reading reviews on similar jobs and that made my mom and i very happy... the chain link gate had to be custom manufactured due to its non-standard width so wlad told us that it wouldn't be ready for a couple of weeks... thus the crew would have to return for the final installation of the gate at another time... due to my long term disability i frequently am unable to leave my apartment so i was not able to be there when the a&w crew was there to install the fence... so when the a&w work crew arrived i called my mom a few times during that day to check on how the install process was going... my mom was very happy with the work crew and their efficient professional demeanor, they even thoroughly cleaned up after their work leaving no typical in such circumstances 'post construction' type of a mess... however, after they left and my mom sent me several photos of the job completed i immediately noticed that the desired effect i had of the final function of the fence was not achieved... namely the 45 degree outward cant of the top portion of the fence was not there and that stressed me quite a bit because i realized that although we've included the installation of the 45 degree fence top brackets in the contract, there was no actual mention in it that the top of the fence must be canted outwards in such a manner... the crew would have to return and fix the entire install which will obviously incur additional cost in time and expense... i called wlad immediately and said that this is not what we've verbally agreed on as far as what this fence was supposed to look like thus the job will have to be redone somehow... wlad was incredibly nice about it and stated for me to not worry because they'll make this right... soon after, we've made another appointment for the work crew to arrive and fix the job and to also install the custom gate which arrived by now... this time it was fixed to look as i originally envisioned it... i called wlad and gave him the good news... :) wlad is very professional with great integrity and it is truly a pleasure to work with him, i also had very good, fast interaction with the a&w's office staff via e-mail at all times... i wasn't there for the installation job of the work crew but my mom gave them a glowing report to me... this entire fencing job from start to finish was done very fast and the fix, which obviously incurred significant additional cost in time and money, was done completely on a&w's time and dime... we've paid zero additional costs beyond our original contracted cost... it's becoming increasingly rare to find such complete satisfaction with any construction/home improvement outfits... a&w is the best and most stress free company we've ever dealt with - this includes a couple of firms whose owners are family friends - and we're making plans for a&w to do more, smaller fence work around my mom's house front/garden area... such rare companies deserve to be praised and such praise should serve to keep them in business hence my decision to type such a long, comprehensive review... :)

I had a pvc fence and a double-door gate installed by Jan Fence in July and after one month, one of…read moremy two gates broke! Each of my gate is 5 feet wide and 6 feet high, and each requires a security rod to keep it in place every time the gate is opened. The security rod is a crucial piece for it to function properly and without it, it's a safety issue as well as a security issue. Jan Fence installed only ONE security rod where both gates require them. As a result, on the first windy day, the gate without the rod broke, and they asked me to pay $839 in order to have it replaced! My entire project (fences + double-door gate) costed $2,675. They didn't even bother to visit me in order to examine the damage of the gate themselves. They didn't bother to check whether it could be repaired or whether a less expensive solution could be found. Nothing happened to the gate that has the rod even during the ISAIAS storm. During the ISAIAS storm I had to put a big stone and a huge bag of soil in order to keep the gate without the rod, in its place. Can you imagine that? When I received their $839 estimate for this one gate, I started contacting other fence companies. One of them, after seeing the photos I sent them, the same with the ones I sent to Jan Fence, said that the damage didn't seem to be a serious one and that if my husband was handy, he could repair it himself. After that my husband, who has nothing to do with the specific profession, gave it a try and he was able to fix it. We ended up ordering a second rod from another supplier. We were concerned that this gate may hit our child or our car every time we have to open it as there is no way to be securely kept in its place and the company never came back to check on it. Unbelievable!!! Terrible company and terrible work. An $839 estimate to come and fix their own mistake which really was a small repair, is unbelievable. I wanted to give them a zero, but unfortunately that option is not provided.

The cost was almost $700. I noticed the gate was within millimeters of the concrete. As I predicted by Sept it was dragging on the ground again. I was told to cut the post that was dragging because if they fix it they would charge me again. Horrible company..find a company that stands behind their products and work.

Jan fence I am a big proponent of reviewing business, both…read morepositive and negative. I leave reviews on many businesses that have received my patronage. A review can help consumers who are undecided, and it can provide valuable feedback to a business. I struggled with Jan Fence. They come highly recommended from many different sources. The craftsmanship and quality of work was excellent. The builders who came onsite to do the job were mostly great. But a business is more than the products it sells or services it delivers. There is discovery and scoping of the original project. There is communication. There is the paper process. A lot of things can contribute to a poor experience, even when the end result is pretty good. This is what brings me to my review of Jan Fence. For starters, communication was less than optimal to say the least. They delayed my project by at least two weeks by giving me two year-old, outdated financial information and then continued to placate me about waiting another day here, another day there, for my payment to process. Many times my emails, voicemails, and text messages have gone unanswered or delayed. I even had an email bounce back from an address provided on the site. One of the managers even called me and asked me about my experience, and I explained the shortcomings and how they could be improved. Yet, the one component of my fence build that is faulty, is arguably the most important: the gate and latch. The latch auto catches about 45-60% of the time (rough estimate). The reason we put up our new fence and new gate, was for the dog's and children's safety. A gate that will not close reliably poses a significant security risk. Getting a response on this one little item right after dropping a not-insignificant pile of cash has proven a Herculean effort. Given that my voice has mostly gone unheard by the business, I felt it warranted a fair review of my experience.

I emphasized that the fence must have no gaps at the bottom and the sides to make sure my yard was safe for my dogs. They did exactly as asked and we are very pleased with the final result. Thank you to Jan Fence and most especially to the men that worked so hard to do this right!
