We procrastinated for years for getting a fence and then decided to install it ourselves.That was until J.U.L.I.E came out and sprayed/flagged the entire back boundary of our property.So, we decided to leave it up to the professionals. The sales call with Bob went very well. We had a rough start after that due to an aluminum shortage, however, once Felix arrived with his crew we found them to be excellent and very collaborative. We worked through plat issues, with Felix working with the village and me to come up with a very acceptable solution. When the inevitable happened -- a ComEd line was nicked (no outage), Felix immediately called it in and Irving (in the Fence Connection office) tracked with me to arrange for Felix to immediately return after the repair. You can always recognize good service by how they recoup. As I noted, the nick was inevitable if you saw all the J.U.L.I.E. markings -- and I was very pleased that the crew was not injured and that it was minor with ComEd able to fix (once on site) within a couple of hours. A zero star would be preferred. Please do not use this company! They are only professional when they are quoting your job, once you pay a deposit that is where it ends. We had a fence install in 2019 because we needed one to meet the pool requirements as we were putting in a new pool and our current fence didn't meet the requirements. Fence gets installed and I notice a dent in the top rail of the fence. After 3 phone calls and a week and a half later I finally got someone to come look at it. 3 more weeks go by with numerous phone calls to get it fixed, and finally it gets done. Fast forward June 6th 2020, when i fail my pool inspection because the fence does not meet the swimming pool code requirements. I immediately call them and speak to the receptionist, was told to give them a day to pull up everything and they would call me back. didn't hear back for a week, call back and ask to speak with the owner. Receptionist tells me that he is in a meeting and he will call me back after. Never hear back. Call the next day receptionist tells me that they are going to have to come out and give me a quote to fix it, and that the owner can get out on Saturday two weeks away. I say that is unacceptable as I have already been calling for weeks and I would like to speak to the owner. Receptionist again tells me he is in a meeting. This time the receptionist calls me back after his meeting and says he will be sending me a quote tomorrow. it has been 3 weeks no quote, last Saturday was the scheduled day for a quote and no one came. I am a project manager at low voltage company, I deal with the same thing they do on a day to day basis, and I would like everyone to know this is not how you should be treated by your contractor. These are not normal things that should be happening. Clients should be taken care of in a timely manner, and if the company/ one of its employees messes up that is on the company not you the homeowner. Please stay away from this company, as I would really hate to see someone else posting a story like this. read more

They we're contracted to put in a cedar fence. They did not make our deadline of the last week of June due to rain delays, but they got in there the week after. I thought it was going to be terrible with the 4th of July holiday, but I was wrong, they got it done in two days, the day before the fourth, and it looks great. I could not have been more pleased to have a beautiful finished fence to enjoy the backyard for the holiday. Fence Connection crew was professional, efficient, they cleaned up, and did an awesome job. I have nothing to gain here, my fence is done and paid for, I just want to give credit where credit is due. I am LIVID! We moved into our current home on May 27, 2016. We have 4 dogs and I wanted the fence installed as quickly as possible. Tried to make arrangements prior to closing and couldn't since we did not yet have the survey. Juan, who I believe is the owner, was out on May 28 as scheduled. We received the quote & signed the contract. When asked about a date for installation, we were told about 4 weeks! I asked about getting that moved up and was told no it would be 4 weeks. I busted my bottom getting the association approval and village building permit asap hoping that would speed up the process, and they had all the information within 2 weeks. I has not helped the process unfortunately. I have talked to Cindy, who is the scheduler, 4 times in the last 3 weeks!!! She has point blank said she schedules and then the boss changes. The last time I talked to Cindy, it had been 6 weeks since the contract was signed and no fence yet. I made it quite clear that if my fence was not installed within a week, I would be filing a BBB complaint. At that time she said she would schedule for the next week. We were scheduled for Friday July 15 - Saturday July 16. I took off work on Friday so I could be there. They did not show up!! I received a text from Cindy this morning to apologize and say they would be there this afternoon. Well, I won't be as We have a wedding to attend! At this time, it has been 7 weeks since Fence Connection received a hefty down payment on a fence that I do not have!!! They have had my money for 7 weeks without delivering the product!!! They have not showed up when they were scheduled!!! I would NEVER recommend this company and will be filing that BBB complaint it they don't show up today! I started out with six different estimates for a six feet fence. Fence Connection wasn't the cheapest but they offered better quality fences then the lowest bid. I was told to expect 2 week wait time after I paid the down payment. Fence Connection called me after a few days and less then a week they were putting the fence up. I had some questions that I was worried about. The foreman answered them and made me feel more comfortable with the installation. They finished promptly and without leaving a mess. We recently had out entire backyard renovated - new garage, patio, sidewalk and fence. The fence was the last to be installed and our salesman Scott tried his best to coordinate the fence project with the rest of the yard. I am a picky customer and Scott was my "go to guy" so he received more of the "But Scott, what about..." on many phone calls and texts. He remained professional and nice throughout all of them. The office girls may have been tricky to deal with at times but Jesus (one of the owners) was also the installer and he and his men were courteous, quick and clean. We had some questions after it was done and he came out, along with Scott to answer all of them - and to my complete satisfaction. The only problem is the new type of gate latches do not allow for the gates to be locked from inside the yard, only outside. We have dogs and I want to be able to lock from both sides. Jesus said he will look for a solution that will work with our type of vinyl fencing and with the least amount of new hole drills - also said he will do his best to fix any of those - and I believe him. I ordered a fence in October 2019. Then the snow fell. I planned to wait until spring. They called to install on December 23! I refused. They called insistent on installing in January. I didn't like the idea but they said it's really a good time as the ground is stable. Stupidly, I let them. Wisely, I didn't pay the remainder of the cost. I found out in the spring that my privacy fence is wobbly because there are no 4x4 posts inserted in the fence. The privacy fence does not come down far enough in two places so my neighbor's grass and clippings are now my problem. On the aluminum section, they decided without asking me, to center the fence, leaving large gaps on both ends. They did return with a small piece on one end where the fences should be near each other. They called a month ago to collect the remainder of the cost. I shared my dissatisfaction so they promised to send someone out to check. No visit. No call. No money. Guess they're happy they got enough. read more

Fence Connection put in our wood fence 21 years ago. It is largely still in good shape, but a few posts needed to be replaced, and we had some wind damage earlier this month. Ray came out within a week, gave us a quote, and the job was done by end of the next week. Twice now, Fence Connection has done a good and careful job. Only complaint is that the crew showed up to do the job without calling us in advance. We would have appreciated a day's notice. read more

Fence connection just recently install a beautiful wood fence around our property. They quickly and easily removed the old chain link, Worked with me to ensure the appearance from our neighbors side was considered. They were amazing at scheduling and even came out in the mud since we had two dogs and needed the fence up asap. I worked with them on resolving some property line issues and design around utility boxes and neighboring fencing. The guys were always happy and considerate. I made an appointment one week in advance to have a sales rep come to my home to work up a quotation. I left work early only to find that he came early because he was in the neighborhood. No phone call. What's the point of an appointment? I was left an estimate for vinyl fencing along with a pamphlet for wooden fencing - because they were out of those for vinyl fencing. How was this to help me? I needed an "in person" visit to explain everything I wanted and didn't get that. Their estimate was about $500 more than other companies. Maybe their product is far superior but how would I know since the sales rep didn't think it was valuable enough to actually wait for our appointment time and meet with me face to face. I would not recommend this company because they don't value a customer's time. There is definitely no connection with this company. read more

They will charge you a crazy amount and then your fence will not pass inspection and then they will charge you even more to fix their mistakes. They will blame everyone including yourself on why it didn't pass inspection. Find a more reputable company with better reviews and real people telling you their experiences. Called them to inspect my existing fence and quote me on some improvements I wanted. The next available visit was in eight days. The person was supposed to arrive at 5:30. By 6:00 he had not arrived, so I called the office. The operator said that their guy would call me shortly to tell me where he stands. Nobody called back or ever showed up. The next day I spoke to the office and they acted surprised nobody ever called or visited. The operator said that she would find out and call me back. Never heard from them again. read more

Wonderful, well-priced job! Contacted the company for a quote in April, the fence was installed to our specifications within four weeks of signing the contract. I am a rather particular person and honestly have to say EVERYONE on the job worked incredibly hard and created a perfect fence! Scott, the salesman, explained everything and followed up TWICE to ask if we had any questions and to ensure we understood things, including the schedule. The installers, led by Carlos, worked carefully and efficiently on this back-breaking job, pulling out the old fence, digging new post holes by hand and installing the new posts with precision and care. A very responsive company. We wanted 40' of wooden fencing installed, a small job for sure. Another local company turned us down, but the Fence Connection sent someone out that very day for an estimate. They were able to get the needed building permit on our behalf (for a small fee) and installed the fence within two weeks. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! I was interested in putting up a privacy fence so naturally I called a few companies to come out and quote it. This company never returned two of my voice mails. I called one last time so I could at least get a few estimates and finally talked to a real person. This guy had no clue what was even going on. He didn't seem to care that I was interested in spending over $5,000.00 to put a fence in and kept putting me on hold every question I asked because he was either pre-occupied or not knowledgeable enough to answer my simple questions. Once I finally scheduled a time for them to come out and give an estimate they canceled on me 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. When I told them to just cancel my appointment they didn't care either. It is companies like this that I dont feel bad for when they go under. read more

Juan and his company don't back their services or warranty. I spent 5k on 2 fences . 30 cedar posts and I have replaced 2 in the past 4 years . They rott out and Juan tells me that it is $300 to replace each one . Guess what the cost of my fence just went up 9k . What a joke . The company does not stand behind their work . Spent 5 k on cedar fence. 2 posts have rotted out in 3 years time . owner Juan came out said it is $300 to replace 1 post but he would do for 150. He never came back or returned my calls. Well with 31 posts I guess over time my cedar fence could cost me $9k more . very unprofessional company . They do not back up their product or services. read more
