This is probably the most beautiful dentistry I have ever been to. Beautiful office, great front desk and friendly staff. I was able to get an appointment for the following day - very quick! My hygienist, I forgot her name but she had short purple hair, was very professional and caring. My experience with Dr. Monica Hwang was very limited, she came in for like 5 mins to check my teeth to see if there were any cavities. But even in that short time, Dr. Hwang seemed really nice and gave me referral to a specialist to look into invisialign. Staff failed to organize the process of seeing a new patient (request of previous medical records). Life happens, but the worst part was that everybody acted like it was okay, and their doctor even offered for me to go to a different place if I am not happy. They also tried to apply extra out of pocket charges (to perform their own xrays instead of requesting previously taken ones) saying that "it is inexpensive anyways, only $67". So, bottom line, if you're trying to get in, make sure you are ready to do their receptionists' job, and if you don't like it, go to a different place. read more

I have been a patient of Fells Point Dental for a few years now and I am happy to report that I LOVE THEM! I never thought I would ever ever say that I love my dentist, but I really really do! If I move away I would probably still travel back here in order to stay with this dentist office! First of all, you have to get buzzed into the building, but it is super easy and the building itself is beautiful. The office is always SO clean and spotless which is what you want in a dentist office! I never wait for more than 5 minutes before I am brought back. Dr. Anderson is amazing and so sweet. She is a young dentist living in the area, actually only a few blocks from me in Brewers Hill. (Did you know she makes her own furniture in her spare time?) Also the Hygienist (I hate how I forgot her name) is also so nice and fun to talk to, I am actually sad I can't talk to her during the entire appointment because we both had destination weddings, we both are seriously obsessed dog moms, and we literally could talk all day. I have not had any serious procedures here, so I can't really speak to anything other than my normal cleanings. But it is great and everyone is so welcoming and happy to be there! Needed to find a new dentist after moving to Baltimore from DC. Based on all the positive reviews, I decided to visit Fell's Point Dental. Not only is the office itself very clean and beautifully decorated, the staff is professional, friendly, and go above/beyond to help you. Dr. Hwang is my dentist and only one word describes her: awesome. Dr. Hwang really cares about her patients. As an example, I recently had a dental emergency and scheduled an appointment with the first available dentist since Dr. Hwang was not working that day. However, little did I know Dr. Hwang came in on her day off to see/treat me! I don't know about you, but I have never had any health care provider come in on their day off just to see me. Dr. Anderson and her staff are great and the office is really clean and aesthetically pleasing. Dr. Anderson doesn't try to push extra procedures and treatments she doesn't think are necessary. Amanda is an awesome hygienist, super gentle with her cleanings. My main gripe with this office is how hard it is to get an appointment. For routine cleanings, you need to book at least 2-3 months in advance. Another issue is parking - street parking in Fells can be a nightmare, especially in the afternoon on nice days. Fells Point Dental is expanding and moving to a new office in November (with designated parking) so the problems plaguing the old location will hopefully be a thing of the past. read more

I can't say enough great things about Fells Point Dental! I called to take my son for his first dental appointment. I spoke with Samantha on the phone and she was able to quickly get him an appointment that day. Upon arriving to their beautiful office, we were warmly greeted by Samantha and she had already called my insurance because I had given her old information. Her customer service was fantastic. Charlene was the hygienist for my son. She great at explaining everything to him and made a nervous little boy feel very comfortable. Dr. Anderson was also amazing with my son. Fells Point Dental is truly one of a kind. The office space is gorgeous, clean and comfortable. The new patient intake process was seamless, efficient and thorough. They have taken the recommended safety precautions for COVID and have provided a check in process that is still efficient and helpful. Since I recently established care, I have been 3-4 times for some work, and each time the administrative team has always greeted me with kindness and a "smile" during the check-in, which I am not even sure they fully understand how much that makes my appointments feel more comfortable and help me relax. They are so helpful with payments, next steps, and insurance inquiries. I offer my highest praise to Fells Point Dental's leadership. It is evident that this practice and its providers are aligned in their values concerning patient care, professionalism, comfort and really exceptional work. I had a pretty traumatic and difficult dental history and in taking the steps to address the dental care I've needed, Fells Point Dental has been so incredibly helpful and supportive in those steps. I have the pleasure of receiving care from Dr. Grooms, Barry and Amanda. Dr. Grooms is incredible. She is so kind and patient. I had a pretty difficult case which has been a two year process. I needed an implant on my front tooth and I am pretty vane about my smile, I have pretty nice teeth and i was terrified this was about to change all of that. To match a front tooth is extremely hard and takes some serious talent that this facility has. Not only does dr Anderson have the goal of fixing the issue but she ensures it is aesthetically pleasing as well. I got my final tooth in yesterday and i couldn't be more happy, the process was fairly expensive but Im so glad this is where I decided to spend the money ! read more

The office staff is very friendly and considerate of your time. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my appointment start time which is very much appreciated. The even offer coffee, snacks and a variety of reading items in the waiting room which is very cozy. One negative is that it is in downtown fells point which can make parking tough. I moved to Baltimore about a year ago, and have been looking for a reputable dentist in the area. After reading many positive reviews of Fells Point Dental on Yelp, I decided to get my dental services here, and it has been nothing but a great experience so far. Dr. Anderson is by far the best dentist I've worked with, and is a professional health care provider that truly cares for her patients. She is friendly, personable, and extremely thorough with her explanations, even on a simple topic such as cavities. Dr. Anderson also does a fantastic job of asking me whether I'm doing ok periodically, and allowing me to address questions or concerns. I immediately felt at ease after my first dental exam appointment, and came back for a follow-up for cavity fillings. In addition, I have not had to wait more than a couple of minutes after each appointment time to be seen, which is sometimes unheard of with doctor/dentist appointments. The staff members along with Dr. Anderson are what makes this place great. Everyone is so helpful and professional, and I've had great interactions with the receptionist, dental hygienist, and dental assistant. Lastly, the modern state of the art space of Fells Point Dental is nothing like I've ever seen in a dental office. They really value modern technology here so don't expect to use pen and paper! I was impressed by the use of an iPad to record my information during my first visit. I never thought I'd say this, but my experience here makes me look forward to dental visits. Wow!! Fells Point Dental is definitely taking my fears of the dentist away. I was in for a return visit and the Staff was top-notch greeting me -Chrissy was very reassuring. Dr Hwang and her assistant Barry were very caring as she calmly talked me thru the beginning of the Root Canal as she was so gentle. I actually fell asleep a couple of times during the procedure-Bonus!! Love coming here! Everyone is so friendly and kind from the moment you step in. I am able to schedule appointments within a week. Parking is easy and free! They make the experience enjoyable and explain everything they do very well. Take their time to clean and whiten every tooth. The dentists listen to your concerns and address them all. They also provide you with a visit summary and what to do until your next visit. Barely any wait time at all. They have a ton of resources (bedside x-ray!) and referral base for dental surgeons. Accept most insurances and the receptionists will work with you if there are any issues. read more

Dr Andersen is such an experienced professional! as well as very kind and humane. She knew I was new in town and immediately was interested about where I was from and gave me some cool tips about Baltimore. Another poor experience with the front staff. I made it very clear I had no intentions on remaining a patient at their office due to how rudely I was treated at my last apt and the front desk not bothering to address it. So today I get two calls stating that I have an apt and if I don't show up they will charge me $50. First, I do not have an apt because I am not a patient. Second, don't call and threaten me with $50 when you couldn't even call to apologize for the rudeness that I experienced from your staff earlier this year. You even state on the voicemail that the apt wasn't confirmed and then tell me that it's $50 charge. Nope. No thank you. I've already found a dentist that treats me much better and isn't going to chase me down over $20. Take me out of your database. read more

Going to the dentist is probably my least favorite thing to do. I was looking for a new dentist that was close to home, clean, had convenient hours (I work a lot), and was reasonably priced (I do not have dental insurance). I also wanted an office that was more "mom and pop" than a "multi office dental mill". I want to know that when I go back I will see the same person time after time, rather than a rotating cast of providers like I've had in the past. After asking some friends, visiting facebook, and doing some google searching I decided to schedule an appointment. When I arrived I could not believe what a great facility Dr. Andersen had created. The office was clean, warm, inviting, and very high-tech. I found the office staff to be professional, polite, and timely. Dr. Andersen calmed my fears about dental work, took the time to clean my teeth herself (she did not pass me off to a hygienist), and even was able to clean up some work that other dentists failed to mention/correct. Unlike other dental practices I've been to I wasn't being "upsold" on more costly dental procedures. She simply gave me what I came there for- nothing more, nothing less. It was a refreshing departure from past experiences. Not only did I have less pain than I ever had at any other dentist's office, but my smile has never been brighter. I find "Will G"s review for this practice misleading. I prefer younger practitioners, especially if they are trained in the latest techniques and technologies. Having gone to dentists whose offices were stuck in 1985 this was a welcome departure. Simply put- I am done looking for other dentists in downtown Baltimore. I will refer family and friends. My only regret is posting such a positive review, as I expect the office will no longer be the best kept dental secret in Baltimore. Do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment. This place is seriously amazing I had somewhat of an emergency visit they were able to squeeze me in the very next day with Dr. Anderson for a pain in my tooth it ended up being a sinus infection which she was very quick to diagnose the entire office is so clean and everything is brand new they use the latest technology and equipment which is very impressive very short wait time in the waiting room as well highly recommend!! Fells Point Dental has changed my life in the most positive and profound way. I've been avoiding going to the dentist for years because of the fear of sitting in "the chair." I've lived most my life hiding my smile because of how embarrassed I was to be missing a few teeth due to terrible genetics. I would cover my mouth when laughing and immediately draw my attention to the gaps in my smile line in photographs. I hid this from my friends and even my husband until very recently. In the last year I've acquired much better dental insurance and was finally able to move past this sensitive body image I had of myself. Dr. Hwang made me feel so comfortable and was able to sooth my anxiety by talking me through every step of the way. She personally called me on several occasions post appointment to make sure I was doing ok. She cut out time in her busy schedule to get me in as soon as possible when I was experiencing pain. The staff here are also wonderful! When I come to check in for my appointment they know me by name and take time to talk about how I'm doing. They remember every detail I've shared with them about my life and follow up with me in next appointments to see how I've progressed since. I've never experienced this quality of service in any medical industry and feel it's an outstanding achievement in creating such a fantastic environment. Not once did I see frustration or miscommunication among staff. Not once did I see staff treating one another with difference in superiority. If you're unsure of choosing this dental office please reconsider. They are truly the best at what they do and I will never go anywhere else again. I went in today with the highest of expectations. When i called I explained that i needed a lot of work and i was currently having an emergency. The office was beautiful and the front desk staff was friendly and nice.(thats who the 2 stars is for) Growing up with 2 working parents but still struggling dental work for 6 children wasnt on the priority list so as an adult I'm working to get my smile back. I chose this office based on yelp review's. Once I got in the back the dentist asked me what my issues were and I told her that i know i need a lot of work and i want my smile back. She literally looked in my mouth for a minute maybe 2 and said ill be back. A minute later she came back and said i cant treat you because you have thyroid issues and i need a release from your dr. ( never ever ever has a dentist told me this) then she said whats your plan for your missing teeth. I said I want implants. ( I'm only 40). I explained that if i have to get one a yr. I will. Without hesitation she said well implant are really really expensive (duh) up to 5000. Im thinking ok... she then says let me call another dr that may be able to help you he does discounted dentures and leaves the room. (I felt like she was making excuses as to why she didn't want to treat me) I'm immediately taken aback. Did she just assume that i cant afford my dental work? I immediately begin to cry as I pondered this. I felt belittled and embarassed. I wanted to run out of there. As the tears fell i listened to the Dr. Talk to her front desk staff as if she was a child (no why would you schedule a pt with a chip tooth for a whitening tray? Its common sense). I dried my tears because I refused to let her see me cry. Maybe she doesnt understand how belittling our interaction felt. Maybe she doesnt understand how embarassed her staff must've felt getting berated in front of patients. Maybe this review will help her... idk i took the pamphlet for the discount dentist and high tailed it outta there. It's been three years since I've been going to Dr. Anderson. I found her on Yelp, obviously, but realized after I booked the appointment that many of my colleagues also went to her. Her office in Fells Point is straight out of an IKEA catalogue, clean and inviting without trying too hard. Her dental assistants are great. She takes a very thorough approach to each patient, which as a physician, I can appreciate. She also exceptionally efficient with her time and I never feel rushed. Her office staff are friendly and respectful. Her dental EHR is quite impressive, in fact I don't know that I've ever seen a pen in this office. All of my intake information was done on an iPad. Moved to Baltimore and found this place from the yelp and google reviews. I called to make an appointment and the got an appointment pretty quickly. I was wondering what my costs would be with insurance and the lady at the front desk was very helpful and took my information. She said she would check and get back to me and she called me back pretty quickly and gave me the info I asked for... I love that I didn't have to call back 2 days later to ask again like some doctors offices. Small practice but nice and clean. Very environmentally and tech friendly using iPad to check-in. Equipment seems very well kept and new. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dr Anderson was attentive, clear and kind. I came here for a cleaning and check up. She found a cavity and I scheduled a follow-up. Came back about 2 weeks later, was in and out quickly no problem. Dr told was very clear about everything. Only weird thing I encountered was that the don't offer a cup to rinse and spit that I usually get from other dentists but have to say the assistant is very good at the suction thing so didn't really need it. Make sure you call before coming in. I dropped by to pick up a mold and even though their hours showed them open they were not. Forgot to ask when I did come in if it was just a one time thing or they just close early when they don't have appointments anymore. I'll be back for 6 month! read more
