Stopped for a beer and some bacon wrapped scallops and greek salad. I always stop in whenever I am in town. Great food and atmosphere.

I am sad to give Fellini's only 2 stars. I used to eat there very often and loved it every time. This was several years ago. I understand that Fellini's has gone through some changes since I lived in the area and I see that the food quality has really taken a beating. I was soooo excited to bring my husband to Fellini's in December. I knew just what to order and wanted him to taste what I'd been describing for years (we'd missed getting to Fellini's on several previous trips to Norfolk). Anyway, we ordered some simple classics and we were both very disappointed in the food. Even the quality of the Greek Salad was abysmal. How hard is it to use good quality ingredients for a salad? It used to be a given at Fellini's, but not when we were there. Way too much filler (their Greek salad did not used to have loads of lettuce in it!) and not much in the way of what you'd expect in a Greek salad. Next up was the pizza...another simple classic. Well, that was just barely edible. My husband ordered an entree that was just a pile of buttery pasta with a pile of garlicky spinach on top. It was not good and left a horrendous garlic aftertaste for way too many hours. So, Fellini's will live in my memory banks as a place I used to love to come to eat pizza, but I'll never drag my husband (or anyone else) back there. read more

Second visit to Fellini's Saturday night, had dinner with a group. Restaurant was packed by 5:30 pm (always a good sign). Shared a house salad with house dressing, and New York pizza. Salad was very fresh, and the dressing was really tasty. I very much enjoy the sauce and crust of a Fellinis Pizza---excellent just like the first visit, and our group had a nice server team. Mom's Chocolate Cake for dessert topped it all off---had to box it up & take it home, but we both liked the cake so much it disappeared within minutes of walking in the door. read more

My first time and last time at this restaurant. I went here with a couple of friends who love this place and go frequently. Service was great. Food was great. I gave a birthday gift to my friend and he forgot the gift on the table. A call was made to the restaurant and the server said she remembered seeing them after we left. But the next day they could not be found. This might be a wrong assumption but it leads me to believe that an employee took the gift. Employees that steal may or may not be a good enough reason to not go back to this restaurant but it is a good enough reason for me. read more

Whenever we are visiting my son who goes to ODU we eat at Fellini's on Colley Avenue in Norfolk. The atmosphere is casual but you still feel like you are going to a nice restaurant. The Italian food is consistently delicious and the servers are friendly and attentive. The prices are to be expected for a restaurant like this. The hamburgers are around $10, the large pizza is $14.50 and the pasta dishes are between $10 and $20, with most around $15. I usually order the manicotti and it is always just the right balance of sauce and pasta. One of my sons usually orders a burger and he always eats it all. So, if you have a member of your party that doesn't like pasta and pizza, there are good alternatives on the menu. Along with our meal we usually get a pizza to go. The pizzas have fresh ingredients with interesting combinations of toppings and are made to order. The restaurant has an open kitchen design near the bar, so if you want to, you can see them prepare the food. The décor is eclectic mix of furniture and mirrors and other architectural elements that were salvaged from old homes. The wood is dark which creates a cozy atmosphere. The way the restaurant is designed you can sit in a booth, a table in the main room or tucked away in a corner. It is very popular after an ODU football game, but we have never had to wait very long for a table. The restaurant can be a bit loud, but I attribute this to the fact that it is always packed, even later in the evening. Our family will continue to visit this restaurant when we are in Norfolk. read more

My wife and I have been going to Fellini's for years. It has a nice atmosphere, the waitresses are always nice and prompt, and the food is always good. If you get a dessert after your meal be careful. They have a glass case where you can see what they have to offer. I usually order a piece of cake to go. The first time this happened I did not look in the case on the way out to notice if they had cut the piece of cake out of the new one sitting in the case. No other cake in the case was the same as the one I ordered. Just the new one. When I got home and began to eat it I found out it wasn't fresh. It was very old, dry and crumbly. It was not good. Two other times they have tried to do the same thing to me, In each of these times I could see that the cake did not come from the fresh cake shown in the case. You could tell it was old because it appeared to be dry and was light in weight. I would take it back and they would gladly cut me a piece from the new cake in the case. You could see that the new piece they gave me was moist and weighed twice as much as the first slice they gave me. I don't know if their policy is getting rid of each old cake before they cut into a new one but it is not right. You pay $6 to $7 for the dessert and you expect it to be fresh; not old and dried up tasting terrible. read more

A friend recommended Fellini's very highly. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza without the ham. The pizza was a disappointment. It is incredibly thin crust. There was no sauce (except if you count all the grease on it as sauce) and there were very tiny pieces of green onion and perhaps a handful of pineapple chunks. Nothing special. I live right around Felini's and have gone there countless times. Not the best service, but it works..., right? Well, tonight they just charged me double what my normal meal costs, and then tried to tell me I am always charged the extra costs. Ummmm.... no. No apologies, no trying to understand my business (I was there at least 3x a week before today), just cold defense of how they do things (when I've never been charged such things)... They even tried to tell me I never order the same thing (when I've actually only ordered something different twice in the past year...)... I was at felini's years ago and disliked it so much I had never gone back. That is until last night. My husband ordered muscles that we're so gritting and sandy and small they were not edible. The sauce was supposed to be a white wine and garlic sauce and turned out to taste like nasty fish water. I ordered bruschetta that was at least edible but not much better. They've been here before, tonight was my first time here. They were just as unimpressed as me. My boyfriend and I dined the other night and my Spinach and pasta dish was horrible. I could not believe they expect anyone to enjoy that. I read one of the other reviews and the person was right on track with what I was going to say. I thought maybe they had pulled a bum off the street to make my dish. The pasta had absolutely no flavor. I don't think any spices were added to the dish. The spinach was bland and there was no garlic flavor at all. I had chicken added to the dish. A waste of money becasue the chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled in water and added to the dish. Not grilled or seasoned in any way. My boyfriend did not enjoy his pasta dish either. I went to Fellini's for the first time last night with my wife, father and nine year old twins. I was disgusted to find incredibly erotic and potentially pornographic photographs of naked women in erotic poses in the mens room. One featured what looked to be an under age teenager with her shirt off stroking a cat in her lap. I don't consider myself a conservative, but these images were completely inappropriate for a 9 year old boy. If they were in a bar that was not expected to have young children, that would be one thing. But these were completely out of what would be considered tasteful for a family restaurant. My children were very embarrassed and ran out of the bathroom. I confronted the owner and she retorted that these might be images that one might find in the Chrysler Museum. I responded that one has the choice to take your children to an erotic exhibit at the Chrysler because you know what you are getting into. Not so the bathroom at a restaurant. Also, if they were so artistic, why did she hide them in the bathroom instead of the front of the house? I asked her if she would share these images with her grandchildren and she did not respond. I would strongly urge not frequenting this restaurant with children, or at all due to the way she is exposing other peoples children to images they are too young to see. My wife reported that there were similarly erotic images in the women's room, but as is the double standard, they did not show full frontal nudity of men. I was not a fan of this place. We went as a group of 6 for a friends birthday. The others in our group had been here before and said it was really good. The only thing I really enjoyed was the service. Our waitress was very nice and never let our drinks run out. But that's where the positives end. We ordered the Gorgonzola garlic bread as an appetizer. Granted, it was my fault for not knowing that Gorgonzola is a type of blue cheese. I don't like blue cheese. However, even those at the table that do like blue cheese did not like the bread. It just didn't go well together. Next, was the house salad that took forever to arrive and showed up about 30 seconds before our entrees which made the table quite cramped. Our lovely waitress was very apologetic at least. The salad looked very nice. It had cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, large chunks of tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, and nice green lettuce. However it looked a lot better than it tasted. The lettuce was almost dry to chew and didn't have much flavor. It was like eating grass. And the dressing that came with it was VERY oily. Next came the entrees. My husband and I both got pizza since our friend raved about it being the best pizza she's ever had. We got two different pizzas because my husband and I have different likes in toppings. I figured we could each get a small and have some to take home to eat left over. Well good thing we did get our own because apparently they are made as personal pizzas and were way smaller than we expected. Not like your typical pizza place. My husband liked his Hawaiian pizza. He said it was nothing to write home about but was good. I should have gotten that. I however got the White pizza which comes with a variety of cheeses and spinach which they claim is sautéed in olive oil and garlic. I also had them add on mushrooms. My husband and our other friend both said their pizza had a nice crisp crust. All of them had VERY thin crusts. My pizza, however, was so soggy that the crust was falling apart and the toppings were coming out the bottom. There were large clumps of spinach on the pizza which were no way sautéed. They were big blobs of mush that I'm pretty sure we're boiled, not drained, and slapped on the pizza still soaking wet. Which I'm pretty sure is what caused the pizza to be so soggy. The end crust that had no toppings on it was nice and crispy and tasted decent but that was about it. Everything else was ruined by the soggy spinach. IF we ever do go back I'll probably stick to the Hawaiian pizza or at least something without spinach. All in all it was a pretty disappointing dinner. At least the company was good. read more
