If you like incompetence and being yelled at, this is the place for you!
Last night, I went into FedEx across the street from my office to send some documents to California. Upon entering, no one was there. After a couple minutes, a man came out to help me, so I showed him the envelope with the documents and the address to send it to. Right then, another customer walked in with a dolly full of 50 packages, so the serviceperson said, "Sorry, can I take this first?" (the 50 packages even though I was there first), asked me to write down my address on the same paper, and proceeded to scan all 50 packages as I stood there. Then, another woman showed up behind the counter, took my envelope, and entered the addresses from the paper, all the while talking to her friend on the phone through her earbud. She said, "I think I misspelled your name," and I looked, noted it was misspelled, but said that it didn't matter. She asked me to confirm the addresses, and I paid and left.
Today, I received the same documents on my desk. It seems that the woman was so distracted while talking to her friend complaining about something that she thought it would be better to pretend that I was in California and that I want to send documents across the street to myself in New York. So, I went back to the store with the same piece of paper including both addresses, and the same woman is there. She says she remembered me and that it is "all my fault" since she asked me to confirm the addresses. I asked her why I would want to pretend that I'm in California and send a package to myself across the street, and she said, "Call the 800 number!" and yelled "Have a nice day" a few times.
I then went across Fifth Avenue to the other FedEx location at 360 Madison Avenue, where they were polite and did their jobs. I would recommend to anyone that you DO NOT go to this FedEx location as the people that work here are nasty and incompetent. read more
