They sent me a photo of where they left the package and I had to walk around my neighborhood looking for it myself. I finally found it and when I let customer service know, they said someone would be in touch the next day. On Friday afternoon I was expecting a package so I stayed home. The driver NEVER knocked on my door or rang my doorbell and wrote that I was not home. I spoke to DHL and they said that I could try to pick it up later or that it would be delivered on Monday. I went to the office Friday night and they said that the driver would not return until after the office was closed and told me that it would definitely be delivered Monday. Absolute disaster DHL scammed me out of 244$ !! I sent a package and not only did they not deliver it they sent it to the wrong country to my house and after going back and forth with them for a while they agreed to give me credits instead of a refund . Once I came to there big building location in Manhattan the man with pink nails in the front told me there was no way he could help me because he didn't know how to apply the credits and he just went to the back and stayed there waiting for me to leave. The computer system is really confusing but Brian was so helpful and friendly. If you want good help for your international shopping needs come to this DHL and definitely ask for Brian! This review is for DHL in general, and DHL UK in particular. DHL generally provides subpar service. They do not offer to pack packages or help with filling out forms, unlike all other shipping companies! DHL UK is particularly incompetent. I scheduled a shipment 3 weeks ago, it still hasn't been picked up. DHL UK calls at inappropriate hours, and when the sender can't pick up the phone DHL UK won't make another attempt that day, causing unexplainable delays. DHL constantly keeps saying they can't find the address, while they made a delivery to that address weeks before and that recipient is now the sender of that same package. It's impossible to reach DHL UK customer service. The DHL system doesn't recognize the waybill or shipping number on the perfectly valid shipping label. I was only able to reach customer service in US, and even they can't explain the behavior of DHL UK. Take your business elsewhere! read more

As bad as FedEx has gotten DHL is still the worst company to deal with. They dont listen, They waste your time, dont follow delivery instructions and leave you with little to no recourse. Wasted 3 hours of my time today waiting for a fragile item. They were supposed to deliver yesterday and did not leave at the door as instructed and then today they came well I stepped out for five minutes as soon as I saw the email saying they attend a delivery I called and was told that the driver would come back. I waited for three hours for the delivery to arrive and it never did I finally called I was told that the item went back to the warehouse. I am off to another job site for the next four days and this is now caused over a week delay since the part I needed it did not arrive before I left and will not be back there for over a week. There are no night managers or supervisors to talk to so if something goes wrong all they do is saying somebody will give you a call back once it's too late to fix it. I had an order placed with a vendor on January 23 and received an email that DHL was the shipper. The package was sent on January 24th from Hebron, Kentucky with an estimated delivery in New York on January 31st. The packaged moved from Kentucky to Raleigh, North Carolina on the 26th. On the 27th it remained at this facility with DHLs notation "tendered to delivery service provider". No clue what that means. Some how on January 31st the package made its way to a USPS facility in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. It then moved to Austin, Texas on February 11th and made its way to New York on February 16th. Then on February 17th the package was sent to Garden City, New York and then was finally delivered on February 18th. So much for rush delivery. Why did DHL take the delivery job if it is just going to dump it onto USPS which is slowly being destroyed by Congress?!!! read more

DHL is more like FML. I've never had an issue with any other courier like I had with them. I had a package to be delivered on Monday, I desperately needed it so I called off work to sit by the door. So when I got a text message saying my it couldn't be delivered I was fucking pissed (I still am bc this was just yesterday). No buzzer rang, no nothing. I even had my neighbor go down and double check the intercom was working. I immediately called customer service and this guy who could care less just says, "Oh he couldn't get to your door." TF??? Your one job is to come to my door and deliver. I don't even know what that means, he was too lazy? Because my street, building, and door were accessible at that time. In fact, the doorman across the street said there were no ambulances/police cars/construction trucks or anything within the last two hours. So annoying. But it's not over yet. I call for the package to be re-delivered, this time with a signature release so the lazy bastard can just drop it off and go. But NO, I get a notification that my package is on 10th Ave ready for pick up. So on a day when it's hotter that Hades, I have to schlep to Hell's Kitchen. How appropriate, FML. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I called today July 15, 2015 at around 11:10am spoke with a customer service rep named Christine, and then her supervisor named Monica. Explaining my situation that the 3 attempts that my package was delivered, 2 out of the 3 times that was impossible because someone was present at my delivery address, and that it was impossible that the delivery person attempted to make the delivery because not even an intercom call was placed to my apt. Mind you, when I called I was a bit frustrated and informed them that I was upset because I was promised yesterday that my package would be delivered to me today. They spoke to me with an abrasive tone, telling me that I was wrong, and that they had done right on their end. Is this the way you treat your frustrated customers who are trying to fix a delivery issue that you guys are responsible for? I called you guys yesterday and you told me that my package would be delivered today, so what did I do take the time off to work from home, but when I tracked my package this morning, to my surprise to see it is on hold at the station. That's already 3 times I have been lied to by you guys, and because your supervisor Monica was so rude to me, I requested to speak with another supervisor, and then she said she would transfer my call but then place me on hold for 30 mins, and I even took a screen capture on my phone for proof. This is not how you run a courier customer service business at all or to even run a business. To hire such rude disrespectful customer service reps to handle issues. The last I checked that is what is in their job description, and what they get paid to do. If they can make a living being that rude, and speak to customers in such an abrasive tone, DHL you guys need to re-train your staff, and start firing people because this is how you lose your paying customers. Anytime I order something and if the courier option is DHL, I know I'm in for an ordeal; this is a fact. Bear with my myriad of horror stories: 1. Ordered something overseas. Got hit with customs big time. Brokerage fees were exorbitant and unreasonable. 2. Delivery guy was a fucking creep and started hitting on me. Unprofessional and unsolicited. Asked me to "order more from DHL and I'll delivery everything to you." W T F 3. "Address information needed; contact DHL" Delivery guy couldn't find my apartment (or couldn't be bothered to), so my package that was supposed to be delivered by the evening had to be rescheduled for the next day. 4. RE: #3 Called DHL customer service. Lady on the phone was rude af. Said it was not her fault - lol. Reminded me to pay customs and duties. 5. Delivery guy delivered to the wrong apt, even though my address was clearly and correctly labeled on the box, and had them sign for it. Luckily I knew my neighbors and got my package back. Shipping is an easy industry to hate on people, and hard to get people who are happy with their service to spend the time posting a review - very biased in that way. I came here to ship off a keyboard to be returned, and the staff present were both friendly and super helpful. One guy had just come back from getting his lunch, and didn't hesitate to put it down and ignore it the entire time they were helping me get my keyboard wrapped, boxed, and ready to ship. There's no reason for DHL to operate in the U.S. They are far far behind in service, features and locations that it's more convenient and faster to use the U.S postal service. Their only New York pick up is by the west side highway and the service is very slow. Nothing like spending your friday night waiting for a package. I would not recommend it for anyone. read more
