Have been working with this store for 4 years and Genesys was the manager. She was great, greeted…read moreus by name and knew our box number. If packages somehow got mislabeled she knew our names and was able to process our packages. Recently, I was missing a package (first ever)which had been sitting on top of a garbage pail in the corner correctly labeled but was never processed and it had medications on ice. I'm working with the company now on what to do with them but we couldn't use them. Then I went in on Monday and the store was loaded with packages and my packages had not been processed so I said I would be back tomorrow. Returning on Tuesday, I was told I didn't have any packages and I said your wrong I havd a packaged delivered yesterday. The new manager was nice and started looking for it and again I saw a package sitting on the side by itself. I walked over and it was my package. I showed the manager and he apologized and said "how did that get there "? I know things happen and new people must come in but this guy just is struggling. He's very nice but has packages just scattered everywhere now and the business looks (and is) so unorganized. I hope that Genesys can return regardless of the issues. She was key to this office and I and many others appreciated her ability to have packages checked in quickly and knew us. This goes for several other people who also have boxes there. She knew all the local customers. Something to think about and consider. I would hate to move my address again because of lost packages.

Except for the older gentleman who looks like Santa and works passports... he can be quite ornery. Their scheduling system is still on paper, in a style similar to the Pony Express. Entering the Aspen post office is not the worst experience... getting a package is. Not even the magical powers of Amazon Prime can save you from an unreasonably long wait on those new fleece lined underwear. Oh no. Expect over a week for a 2 day prime delivery, simply because there is a room of misfit packages somewhere in the bowels of that Puppy Smith Dungeon. Here, packages lay until their owners call asking or someone finds the time to sort through them. Delivering packages is not a strong suit of this particular post office. When your parcel does emerge from their talons, postmen take the "close enough" approach when it comes to actually delivering your package, occasionally leaving letters and boxes strewn about the road. Overall, this establishment is lacking. It should have admittedly gotten one star. However Aspen is a wonderful town with so many wonderful things to experience, we begrudgingly deal with the current state of the Puppy Smith Post Office.

I went to pick up mail from my box last week only to find it locked. Come to find out they are pulling down that particular bank of PO Boxes to make room for something else. They have assigned me another box which is also locked, and say it needs to be rekeyed but there is no locksmith to do it. They have no idea when I can receive mail again!!!

USPS always gets so much hate because "they aren't quick enough", "they are incompetent", "they are…read moretrying to lose my mail" and whatever else you hear from people who are upset they have to wait one extra day for their automatic cat feeder. The USPS people, at Snowmass, work so, so hard and if you have a problem with how they run things, maybe you should sign up for the job and run it to perfection, since it's "such an easy job". They work their butts off, get their at 6am, from places that are a good distance away. Not to mention, you know how many parcels USPS deals with in a year? 124 Billion (that's with a B) and they are understaffed/undervalued. FedEx deals with about 5 Billion and UPS deals with about 4 Billion. USPS is dealing with 25 times the amount FedEx and UPS deal with, so just be appreciative that you get your package on time 90% of the time. Maybe if they were staffed well enough, they wouldn't be so overworked and so exhausted. Also, you yelling at them is not going to make them go faster! Try being a little more considerate. Anyways, they have always been FANTASTIC for me and I can't even tell you the amount of mistakes they've made because I don't think they have ever made one... no joke. Treat these people with respect because they are working their butts off for you, for little in return!

I used a period because it was more of a declaration than a question. I didn't say a word to provoke this kind of behavior, and I was simply waiting for her and her male co-worker to finish their conversation. It wasn't busy and I was the only person waiting. After taking a few seconds to process how stunned I was at her reaction, I told her that was rude, and she again rolled her eyes and reiterated "How MAY I help you?" I simply said I was taking my business elsewhere and left. Does Sandy's treat all of their customers like this? I would suggest Aspen Reprographics as a great alternative because not only were they welcoming, they offered discounts I didn't even ask for!
