CHECK YOUR RECEIPT FOR OVERCHARGES & DUBIOUS CHARGES! I went…read morein today to have boots shipped to a family member. I initially went in and asked for a box that would fit and stated that I would "be right back." The lady at the counter asked if I had my items in the car and I stated, "yes." She said, "Bring them in and we can package them for you." I agreed and brought the 4 pairs of boots in. They folded the box and placed the boots in and used 1 piece of plastic to protect one set of boots and then used 1 strip of tape on each end of the box and that was that. I saw on the counter that they charge $2 for use of their tape (which was fine with me and even made a comment about it, that I would rather pay $2, then buy a roll). I paid for the shipping, the tape and box. When I got to my car and looked at the receipt. There were 2 charges each for $6 ($12 total) on top of the $8.99 for the box (which was expected). However there was a $6 charge for "Std Pack Materials" and another $6 charge for "Std Pack Service". I went back in and stated that, "I had been overcharged and why are there 2 charges for $6, when I agreed to pay $2 for the tape?" I'm guessing it was the owner/manager of the UPS Store and he stated, "we packed your items for you, that's why you were charged." I told him that he "should notify his customers of the extra charges just like the sign on the counter that states the $2 tape charge, when in fact, I was going to pack my items myself?" He made the excuse that "they are so busy and don't have time to tell me" about the extra charges. Although, he did refund me the overcharges, I find it pretty telling in the integrity of the owner and his staff that they aren't explaining extra charges and likely don't expect you to look at your receipt. When you think of all the business they receive each day, that is ALOT OF MONEY that they are accruing fraudulently, right out of your bank account.

No calculating (printing I was told was 15 cents or something, not gonna make a round number). Taken aback I say, "$20?!" Yeah, for printing and "labor." Like he just made me a brick wall or something. He took forever and a Tuesday to do all this. Molasses moves quicker. And his partner, whom I consulted with originally, said scanning would be $1 to "set up," whatever that means. Still a far, far cry from $7.50 or whatever per freaking scan (it's NOT by page, because you know, labor and all). When I called her on it she said, "Well that's his business. I do collectibles." He gave me a whopping discount down to $14 and change. These folks don't know what they're doing. Arbitrary pricing is a terrible business practice. Please improve. Will literally be driving to the nearest Office Depot in Denver before using these guys again. What a joke. Edit: Interesting copypasta response. The project was done wrong but I had no printed receipt (I had credit card statement showing payment) I accepted the project by paying. Looked at first print and it was wrong so staff person took it back and reprinted and it looked ok, so I left and realized later, on my trip to Michigan, they were wrong.(2 sided orientation upside down) I called and explained what happened and whoever I talked to said they couldn't help, that I should have seen the problem. No apology, no acceptance of responsibility. When I returned I went into the shop and received even worse treatment. I really became angry at the clerk. She was horrible and I dropped an f bomb. I said "you stand there having totally botched a project all you can do is tell me how I fu$&@d up. I apologized. She lied to her manager who was also no help. I wrote to the owner. No help. This whole thing was just terrible service start to finish. I've never blown up at anyone in a business professional setting before.
