When I had a damage dispute with a shipping carrier, Postal Place really stepped up and went out of…read moretheir way to ensure I had the necessary information to properly file the damage claim with the carrier. Seriously, I could not say enough good things about how Hassan and his team helped me navigate the process of obtaining compensation for damage during shipping. Without a doubt, I will continue to use this business every chance I get. Even though I had purchased insurance, Hassan had the foresight to proactively take pictures of the package as it left his store on the carrier's truck. Through this single action alone, I was able to prove the package was in good condition at the start of its journey -- quite unlike its state at the end of the journey! The key here is that the service at Postal Place, and just plain old-fashioned thoughtfulness at this business, is a value that I could never have put a price on for my very expensive shipment. Thank you Hassan! I really don't know what I'd have done without you.

I recently took my clothes to ZIPS in Urbana for their wash-and-fold service. According to their…read morewebsite, "ZIPS will wash, dry, and fold your garments and then neatly package them for you to take home!" Unfortunately, that is not what I experienced. The folding job was absolutely horrible. I have used wash-and-fold services at other laundromats, and there is no comparison. Other places take pride in their work and return your clothes neatly folded and ready to put away. I expect the same when I pay for a professional service. Instead, the quality of the work I received fell far short of what ZIPS advertises. From what I understand, the Urbana location sends clothes to the Gaithersburg store to be washed and folded before returning them to Urbana for pickup. If that is the process, then the Gaithersburg location seriously needs to reevaluate the quality of its work. I dropped my clothes off on Saturday and picked them up on Tuesday. That gave the business three days to review the order and make sure the work met its own advertised standards. Three days! Is it unreasonable to expect a business to check its work before returning it to a paying customer? I initially gave ZIPS two stars because the owner at the Urbana location seemed just as surprised and disappointed as I was when he saw the condition of the folded clothes. I appreciated that he appeared to recognize the problem, even though that did not change the fact that the service itself was unacceptable. Unfortunately, the situation became even more disappointing when the owner responded to my complaint. I want to clarify that I was not refunded on the spot, and as of my response, I had yet to receive a refund. I do not appreciate a business publicly claiming that a refund was issued when I had not received one. Rather than addressing the quality of the work, the owner chose to bring up the business hours, accuse me of mocking them, and state that there was camera footage of me doing so and that I had used profanity numerous times. Let me be clear: whether I expressed frustration, commented on the business hours, or used profanity does not change the quality of the service I paid for. The condition of my clothes was the reason for my complaint. Bringing up camera footage and my behavior does not answer the question of why the folding was so poorly done in the first place. What really bothers me is that a legitimate complaint about poor service has turned into a public discussion about me personally, while the actual service issue remains unanswered. I acknowledged the owner's initial reaction and even gave the business credit for appearing to recognize the problem. I was not looking for an argument. I expected the service I paid for to be done properly. I will most likely continue taking my clothes to another laundromat, even though it is considerably farther away. The difference in quality is like night and day, and I would rather make the extra drive than pay for another wash-and-fold job like this one. My advice to anyone considering ZIPS in Urbana is to keep your expectations in check. The advertised promise is to have your clothes neatly folded and packaged. That was not my experience, and the way my complaint was handled afterward only made matters worse. The bottom line: I was unhappy with the quality of the service, disappointed by the unresolved refund issue, and even more disappointed by the owner's decision to focus publicly on my behavior instead of addressing the original complaint. Customers should be able to raise legitimate concerns about a service they paid for without having the discussion turned into a personal dispute. I stand by my review. I will take my business elsewhere.
