My partner was looking for a no frills breakfast and Features fit the bill. It was your typical diner with a standard breakfast menu. There were no vegan options for breakfast, so I ended up having a plate of fries (good fries, but still fries). The dining area was very bare bones. There was a large area without tables. It seems maybe they kept it that way after Covid. It seemed open and empty. The coffee was good and continually topped off. My partner enjoyed his omelette. There was a steady stream of people coming through the door. It was hard to tell if it was a local hang out or visitors like us. Features is located downtown and easily accessible.

Came here for breakfast while on vacation. Here is how the visit shook out; Good: * friendly service * homestlye fries were great! * huge portions Not as great: * we ordered peameal bacon and it was oddly sweet (no biggie, I guess that is how it is but was not our cup of tea) * the "maple" syrup (confirmed it was) did not taste like maple syrup...it really tasted Iike artificial syrup - this resulted in the major ding on score...this is Canada and have nasty tasting syrup.

The food was amazing, but the service was absolutely exceptional! This is definitely the type of breakfast place we need. They not only sell you breakfast, but they also serve you a great start to your day.

Eggs Benedict Florentine. It was delicious.

There is really much to say .... Service was fast and friendly. Food was very good. Serving size reasonable. Prices are great. Restaurant was clean and nice looking. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine .... It came on French toast instead of English muffins, which I found unique. It was very good. I will certainly return.

We stopped by here randomly for brunch on a weekend and had a pretty solid meal. The brunch menu was fairly standard and they had the option of eating inside or on their patio. The food was served in disposable containers and someone came out to wipe down the tables after use with a disinfectant. Tables were spaced decently apart. Food-wise, it was decent. The eggs Benedict was fairly standard and the breakfast bowl was a mix of scrambled eggs, avocado, onions, spinach, mushroom and feta cheese. The breakfast bowl didn't really do much for me; it was a little bland. Under normal circumstances, I would have asked for hot sauce. The two orders plus coffee came to around $40. Overall, the meal was decent and I appreciate the COVID-19 precautions.

Wonderful friendly servers. We were welcomed with a warm smile. The home fries are tasty. We enjoyed our breakfast and food arrived fast.

The newest location is right by the river - with lots of public parking across the street. Beautiful old building and a nicer overall decor than the previous spot. Still colourful - with cool drawings of their famous sandwiches on the walls. Lots on offer, but really, who am I kidding? "Mennonite sandwich, please" is what I said - and what you better say if you know what's good for ya. That delicious summer sausage, fresh corn relish with a subtle but delicious kick of spice. The cheddar - classic taste - nice slice - just how I like it. Definitely not processed cheese. The fresh country white bread - melt in your mouth but still with a crunchy brown crust. MMMMMMMMMennonites seem to have the secret of sandwich making down pat. This is the kind of sandwich that puts hair on your chest...What's that joke - why do Mennonite boys grow beards? Because they want to look just like their moms! Lol a bit off side maybe there - but my point is simple - a hearty, tasty sandwich - one of the best and most classic available in Ontario. Get out there and grab a few. The baking is also delicious!!

I enjoy the Othello (sans pesto, of course) but most often create-my-own. Last time I was there I had local goats cheese (swoon-inducing) on multigrain (OMG freshly-baked and so so so good) with alfalfa sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, lettuce, roasted sweet red peppers, honey mustard (made by local mennonites!) & mayo. I always add the "deli dills" - I'm pretty sure they're local mennonite too. Needless to say, PHENOMENAL. They also have THE MOST AMAZING 4-bean salad. Try it. Trust me. I don't even LIKE bean salad all that much... this one converted me. Really. GET IT. They lose a star because it's time to fix the service. It takes waaay too long to get your food, and that's true whether you eat in or order from the take-out window. Service is a bit better for breakfast, but still nothing to rave about. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes for your food. The kitchen & waitstaff are unfortunately more often than not visibly frazzled/stressed. I have been here for breakfast a bunch of times, as well as dinner once or twice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their jam - "moss berry" - never heard of it before or since! For dinner, I've had the Spinach, Marinated Mushroom, Red Onion and Goat Cheese Pizza ($6.50) as well as the Caramelized Broccoli, Red Onion and Ricotta Stuffed Pasta Shells baked in a our slow-cooked Tomato Sauce ($13.95). Both VERY yummy. Their breakfast burrito is legendary. I must recommend it as your first breakfast expedition at YSK. For meat-eaters, try the peameal bacon. LOCAL PORK FACTOIDS: A note on peameal bacon + Stratford: this is prime peameal bacon territory. If you don't make it to YSK, try to get to the Stratford Farmer's Market where you will find a chuckwagon of sorts vending DREAMY peameal bacon sandwiches. OMG. AMAZING. Perth County produces some of the best pork in the country. If you're passing through Shakespeare on the way to Stratford (or back - it's just east of Stratford), make a stop at "The Best Little Pork Shoppe", which is certainly NOT little. Check it out: http://www.porkshoppe.com/ Last interesting pork fact? The Annual Ontario Pork Congress happens in Stratford too. Just one more point in proof that Stratford is THE place to be eating pork. Which I don't, to clarify. I've been a veghead for 13 years now. But I have juicy childhood memories of Saturday mornings at the market with my Dad eating peameal bacon sandwiches with LOCAL bacon, LOCAL cheddar cheese, FRESHLY-CHURNED LOCAL butter on a FRESHLY-BAKED kaiser bun. FOR REAL. Back to TSK breakfast. I've also had the French Toast with local maple syrup and some sort of homemade apple-pie-filling-type side (INCREDIBLE) and the H.M.S. Pinafore Breakfast Sandwich (toasted bagel with that gorgeous local goat cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, onion & lettuce) is worth a try too! So basically, if you're looking for a unique, personality-filled, delicious place for breakfast, brunch or lunch, HEAD HERE!

We were seated without delay at a table along the wall opposite the kitchen. There seemed to be a lot of tables and all were full. It was a very hot day, 30C with humidity, and we were very glad to be indoors with AC. Our server was a lovely man and we enjoyed our conversations, these went beyond just our meals and included baseball and his sister's farm. Unsurprisingly we consider the service superb. We ordered the Buttermilk Chicken and the Classic Bento Box, our meals came quickly and portions were fine. Quibbles I had with the Bento box are as follows: I found the Miso soup a bit too salty and a bit thin on Miso. The Kimchi seemed a bit on the acidy side to me. Having steamed rice paired with dumplings and Karaage chicken seems pointless. Sort of like having bread served with your hot dog. I did enjoy the pork and shrimp dumplings and the chicken was also good. As mentioned the room was loud, the sound pressure level seemed high and required speaking louder than normal to have a conversation with my spouse. Once past the bar, there is a line of tables down one wall and opposite the kitchen. Every single table seemed to hold a party of two and the space used to maximize seating. This narrow space seemed to contain sound and made for a busy and noisy space. All told, it felt like the place was set up to maximize turnover while offering an interesting menu that is competently prepared and served. It would have been better if it was less busy.
