    Thai noodles with shrimp

We sat in the bar area and it was busy and rather loud so if you are planning on going here I suggest making a reservation so you can get in the more formal dinning area. The flat steak was awesome the rice and mushrooms and sauce were delicious. Thai noodles was also recommended but not as good. We also had the spice chicken bowl which was good but the chicken was slightly over cooked. Only have a photo of the Thai noodles sorry!

Delicious food. Excellent service. Cool, colorful decor. Fun ambiance. What more could you ask for? I really love the decor and vibe here. Everything is warm and welcoming. The staff is attentive and kind. I loved my Caesar salad! It already came with bacon and I added shrimp too. The Miso-Caesar dressing was delicious. I had a non alcoholic seltzer with cardamom and it was delicious. I enjoyed my side of fries with the homemade aioli too. My friends loved their falafel smash burger and fried chicken sandwich. Everything here is homemade and made from scratch. I would gladly come back.

Absolutely amazing food with a very upscale feel and experience for a very reasonable price. Very personable staff with a genuine desire to establish good conversation (just like MJ at the bar!) Ambiance is classy and well worth the visit. Easily #1 in the area. I highly recommend the Chicken Karaage the Roast duck breast and Caesar salad.

Decent food and lovely server. HOWEVER, busy, crowded, and noisy. We reserved a table for 2 at 6PM on a Saturday evening for dinner ahead of an 8PM curtain. We were seated without delay at a table along the wall opposite the kitchen. There seemed to be a lot of tables and all were full. It was a very hot day, 30C with humidity, and we were very glad to be indoors with AC. Our server was a lovely man and we enjoyed our conversations, these went beyond just our meals and included baseball and his sister's farm. Unsurprisingly we consider the service superb. We ordered the Buttermilk Chicken and the Classic Bento Box, our meals came quickly and portions were fine. Quibbles I had with the Bento box are as follows: I found the Miso soup a bit too salty and a bit thin on Miso. The Kimchi seemed a bit on the acidy side to me. Having steamed rice paired with dumplings and Karaage chicken seems pointless. Sort of like having bread served with your hot dog. I did enjoy the pork and shrimp dumplings and the chicken was also good. As mentioned the room was loud, the sound pressure level seemed high and required speaking louder than normal to have a conversation with my spouse. Once past the bar, there is a line of tables down one wall and opposite the kitchen. Every single table seemed to hold a party of two and the space used to maximize seating. This narrow space seemed to contain sound and made for a busy and noisy space. All told, it felt like the place was set up to maximize turnover while offering an interesting menu that is competently prepared and served. It would have been better if it was less busy.

We came here for a family celebration with 14 people on a Friday evening in December. The menu has a lot of Asian fusion dishes but there are other options and definitely something for everyone. The portion sizes are large (I couldn't finish mine and my 16 year old nephew said his dish had so much chicken), and everyone really liked their food. I had the Korean crispy chicken and rice bowl. It was filled with many different fresh flavours like ginger, cilantro, and aoili. The chicken was nicely fried and abundant. My husband initially ordered the kimchi stew and after we both tried it we decided it was extremely salty. They allowed him to send it back and order something else since it was a batch soup. He had the lamb udon which he was delighted with. All in all, we were happy with our experience and would return again if we're in town.

We ate here last night. First time. Very memorable, delicious meal. I had the Tan tan men ramen with a Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand wine. So very very yummy. Great service from Saxon, too.

Gord and I had lunch today on the patio at Mercer Hall. He had Mijikai Maki (crispy hamachi tuna sushi roll, togarashi aioli, teriyaki sauce tobiko, pickled ginger, wasabi) for the first time ever and Apricot Glazed Japanese-style Cheescake with seasonal fruit compote, which he enjoyed. I had a Crispy Buttermilk Fried Chicken on a Bun and fries. It was good but I found the bun was a bit too much/too crusty so I ate it without the bun.

THE best restaurant in Stratford (and not as expensive as Bijou). A must try. Friendly, attentive, efficient service, delicious fusion dishes (not just pub food), enough choices on the menu to satisfy different tastes, nice decor. Simply amazing. I tried their Tokyo cioppino and am a fan. It's basically fish stew with Japanese inflection. The bowl is huge!

Wow, where to begin? Scoping menus for our trip, Merced Hall was my number one draft pick. When my husband was paired with locals at the golf course who also recommended it, the trip was solidified! Service on a Thursday evening was lovely. We sat on the patio out front and knowingly ordered too much food so we could try it all. The rice bowls are 2 meals worth at least!! The Korean BBQ Bowl had an option to make it vegetarian by subbing tofu and extra broccoli, so that's what I did. Unfortunately, they chose not to include the Korean BBQ sauce at all so though tasty the flavor profile was quite reliant on mayo. I'd happily return and ask for bbq sauce as well. We didn't drink at this meal but everything that came out looked marvelous.

The vibe in here reminded me of an old beer hall, and I thought that fit perfectly. The menu probably isn't great for particularly picky eaters, but I got the bento box and found that it gave me a lot of options that I wasn't expecting. I actually wish I could've had more of the chicken given to me in the box-- it was the best part! It was pretty busy on a Friday night, but our food still came out pretty fast.

Bento box - the only good thing was the salad.

Two stars for nice ambiance and friendly, but marginal, service. The food is terrible - some was downright inedible. We started our meal with little tofu dumplings that were actually quite good - but that was to be the only good thing we had. In fact, the pictured bento box had the SAME dumplings but they were mushy and terrible. The miso soup, salty fried chicken with soggy greasy biscuit, and dry, dry, tasteless lentil burger - inedible. I had a better biscuit at the free breakfast at my hotel. Told the friendly but largely absent waitress about one dish that wasn't eaten because it was so bad and she gave a little tut tut and proceeded to deliver the bill in whole. No asking about making anything right. A huge disappointment.

Cool appies that I've not seen in other restaurants! Unexpected find here in Stratford, especially with the asian fusion type flavours. I also enjoyed their ambiance indoors and at the outdoor patio. I really enjoyed all the dishes we got: -GAZPACHO cold soup - the creama and crispy rice ball was a nice texture with the refreshing cold seasonal watermelon gazpacho -LETTUCE WRAPPED PORK MEATBALLS - I liked the leaner meat with the sauces & pickled veggies. We asked for more lettuce though, which the server was really nice about! -Hibiscus cocktail

Bento box was delicious and had so much leftovers. It also came with a soup. I asked for kbbq sauce with it as well.

Food was great, drinks were delicious. They had a drink called a new old fashion that my friend surprisingly loved. Service was great. Our server also helped guide us through the menu and gave us her favorites which was much appreciated

Mediocre bar food. It wasn't bad but wasn't fantastic. Unlikely to return. There are better places in town.

The French onion soup was really thick with cheese at the top, perhaps a bit too much so. The carrot salad was really pleasant to eat and felt healthy. The burger had a nice flavor and texture to it; the bun was a bit sweet, and the fries were tasty, but not super crisp though crisp enough, and a bit salty. The leek tartine was a bit monolithic, the leek being too oily and the bread a bit flat. It was overpriced by about $6 or $7 in my opinion. Wish there was as little more going for it. The crepes were decent; the nutella crepe was particularly sweet. For dessert, the roulé au chocolat was top notch, with a freshly whipped cream accompanying a sturdy and flavorful chocolate roll cake. Music was good too! All in all a good way to spend time eating and having a bite with friends and family prior to a show.

Booooring. Good service, typical boutique / tourist destination restaurant pricing (not cheap),…read moremostly small plate servings...but overall a disappointment. We ordered: blue crab hashbrowns (the only standout; would definitely order again, except that I won't likely return), salt roasted beets, brussel sprout caesar, scallops, and duck breast; then we both had creme brûlée and espresso. We tried the three white wines, one was a forgettable Chardonnay and the other two...were equally forgettable, notwithstanding being less common grapes. Only the duck was a main-size serving, and we only chose it because when we ordered there was only one order of scallops remaining (for a 5:30 seating!). I want to say "just as well" because the scallops and sauce were bland so we got to try something else...however the duck was not merely uninteresting but the red pepper sauce didn't complement and contributed nothing. The scallops were priced like a main but only four little guys on the plate, the one upside if we had both chosen them we'd have had room for another order of those crab hashbrowns. The beets were also dull, no idea why the word salt is in the name because it was absent from the dish. No tang to anything except the brussel Caesar. I've seen the brussel sprout restaurant renaissance of the last 10-15 years, this dish is pretty common now. This one was on a par with many others I've had but no improvement, and some might be put off: fully half the outer leaves are charred to the point of becoming a mouthful of ash. Not crispy, just dry ash. I guess that's different...and maybe this is the root of the problem. This restaurant makes a point of changing their menu constantly; not just seasonally, but weekly, even daily. So maybe they're just trying out stuff that pops into the chef's head. With the exception of the crab, every dish seemed to need something to make it interesting or appealing. The espresso was good, but the creme brûlée was another ill conceived concoction, with some kind of raspberry trifle thing on the bottom and the creme was a strange thick porridge-like texture and not quite the typical flavour. Last complaint: their self-description says Elevated Comfort. No. Mundane bistro look and ok seating, but that steep and poorly lit descent to the basement washrooms is the opposite of comfort. Hey, maybe we just picked the wrong items from their evolving experiment of a menu. The people are all nice, the service was good, and none of the food was bad...just meh.
