Just finished my meal at Featherblade and it was fabulous! I started with Grilled Haloumi. It was delicious. For the main course I enjoyed the featherblade with Grilled broccoli and truffle Mac n cheese for the sides. The Grilled broccoli had a kick to it, but was quite tasty. The featherblade was so tender I barely needed a knife to cut it. Highly recommend this place but it does get busy so eat early or make a reservation. read more

Glad to have read the article about the opening of Featherblade on Lovin Dublin and glad to have been in town yesterday to experience it! The steak is absolutely mouthwatering, tender as butter. I came here recently for lunch and in terms of value for money this is the best steak restaurant I have ever come across! The menu basically consists of two steaks & a burger. They stick to what they know and they do it very well. Although the sauces & sides cost extra, it still stays reasonably under €20 for a steak, a side and a sauce. I ordered the Featherblade steak which was absolute perfection. The service was very laid back and informal, which I enjoyed. The only thing I would say is that dinnertime would probably be very cramped as the tables are quite close together in this relatively small place. However, as I came for lunch, this wasn't a problem. read more

The décor and the staff are excellent - unbeatable value for what you get.The menu is very limited so if you are like me and like choice then perhaps take a look before you visit - two starters and two mains (and both mains were 9oz steaks) and a whole load of beautiful side dishes - each costing extra,the broccoli side was my favourite!!!!!! Brought my girlfriend here for her Birthday and had a pretty good experience. There is pretty much just one main on the menu, steak!! So if you don't like red meat this place won't really be for you. We order 2 steaks, a portion of fries and sweet potato fries and the cream spinach. The food was amazing. Steak was perfectly cooked and the sweet potato fries might be the best I've ever had. I have also never had had spinach taste like these guys made it and I would recommend it as a great side with your steak. I am dropping one star for the table we where at, it felt very claustrophobic and the table was also right beside the front door which caused a chill and didn't help the atmosphere. So if you're booking I would recommend saying you do not want a table near the front door. Other than that I'd say I'll be back before long. read more

I visited Featherblade today for the first time with my husband. The staff were extremely friendly. The girl who served us asked if it was our first time visiting and explained the menu to us. I ordered the Featherblade steak and my other half order the burger. Both came the exact way we ordered. The steak was seasoned to perfection and the burger was lovely and juicy. We also ordered the beef dripping chips which were very tasty! Before going I had seen the menu online which had mentioned they served hanger steak which I was originally planning on ordering however the menu had just changed. Was here last night for my birthday. My girlfriend had a surprise night planned away in Dublin. We came from Belfast and had a reservation for 5:40. We were running late and they called us to see if we were going to make it. We explained the trip from Belfast had been a nightmare and had asked them to extend to half 7 which they were more accommodating. Upon arrival we were and shown to our seats. Though quite small and noisy it has a great layout and vibe. A nice little touch was the server that had answered the phone to us, Coming to us asking how our trip from Belfast was and wishing me a happy birthday. Great place!! 10 out of 10 read more

Went with high expectations, and they were definitely exceeded. The food was fantastic, We got the marinaded steak which was perfectly cooked to my asking (something which is often not the case with steak in Ireland) we also got the fries, creamed spinach (which was a little heavy I wouldn't recommend a portion for just yourself as it is a bit monotonous to eat) however the tender stem broccoli was life changing. I would get that a hundred times. The atmosphere was great as was the service, all servers were attentive without being overbearing at all! Wow. Featherblade blew my socks off. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and I could not have asked for a more delicious meal. The atmosphere wasn't very romantic but the food and service made up for that. The Featherblade steak was up there with one of the most memorable steaks I've eaten. Ever. Perfectly cooked. Perfectly seasoned. I didn't even need the sauce. The sides. Oh, the sides. Beef dripping chips- holy crap. Couldn't stop eating them. The truffle Mac n cheese- gooey heavenly deliciousness. The creamed spinach was also good but my husband enjoyed that more than I did. We had a chocolate cherry cake for desert. Again, delicious. The cocktail and wine list is also great. Featherblade will be our new spot for sure. read more

The concept for featherblades is fantastic and the scope of the project is exactly what Dublin needs at the moment, a simple contemporary menu at an affordable price. After hearing good things I decided to try it out for myself. Now I'm not sure if I attended on an off night but my experience was so disappointing. I really wanted to like this place and I'm not trying to slate featherblades so il start by saying the mains were great. The steaks on offer were flavorsome and cooked to perfection, the beef dripping chips were crisp and moreish and the mac & cheese was just what you want warm, oozy and extremely comforting. Unfortunately that's where the pros stops. From the outside everything about featherblades appeared to be considered but once I sat down I couldn't escape the feeling that everything did not feel so much considered but rather manufactured and contrived with a distinct lack of atmosphere and this feeling of style over substance was echoed in the food. I decided to try both starters on offer that evening, crab on brown bread and crispy egg with cauliflower, pickled mushrooms and Serrano ham. The crab lacked any season but was simply crab on brown bread so it was not a complete disaster. The second starter however truly left me scratching my head. It simply did not work. Again there was no real seasoning here, I was waiting for a salty hit from the Serrano ham but for some reason it had been fried transforming it into a flavorless brittle crisp. The barely crispy egg sat on a bed of pureed cauliflower and then there was the pickled mushrooms, there just appeared to be no logic to the dish but rather a collection of random elements on a plate. Everything looked great but there was just no real understanding of flavor. The mains arrived and as I previously said I thought the evening was saved but unfortunately dessert followed and left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I ordered the orange chocolate mousse and banoffee pie. Although the flavorful of the chocolate mousse was deep and rich it had not set and so I had a glass of chocolate sauce which was barely edible. Finally the dish which embodied my experience for the evening the banoffee pie. It was artificial, bland and utterly forgettable. The entire evening left me confused it seemed all or nothing with featherblades, where the evening hit it hit hard but the misses were utter disasters and really unforgivable for any restaurant. I see great promise in featherblades and I feel many of the reviews are reviewing the concept and not the actual reality, I just feel a few screws need to be tighten before it becomes a must go. I really hope featherblades can rectify what I'm hoping are teething problems as it has the potential to become a staple on Dublin's culinary scene for many years. read more

My favorite restaurant in Dublin!!! For dinner, I would definitely advise making a reservation (they do online bookings). The steaks are affordable, juicy, tender and the perfect serving size. The other reviews I'm reading here tell a consistent story: come here for the steaks, not the sides. Incredible experience on our first night in Dublin. The servers were warm and friendly and the food could not have been better. Signature steak was perfectly prepared, and the sides we shared were remarkable. Truffle mac & cheese was a game changer. And trust me, you'll want room for dessert. So glad we came across this gem. There was miscommunication when we were settling the bill, and we ended up paying for 4 drinks, when we only ordered 2. No effort was made to make this clearer before we left the restaurant. When tipping through the touch-screen, it was impossible to see the bill before applying a tip from a selection of choices between "10%" to "30%". Since I was unaware that I'd be paying 24 euro for a burger and chips rather than 13 euro, I applied a 15% tip. The "Beef Dripping Chips" were in fact just chips, without seasoning. Our server was friendly, and the burger tasted nice, but I was really annoyed when I left the place having paid €24 euro, when I only ate and drank €13 euro's worth, based on their advertised prices. read more

I tried this restaurant last Saturday night as I wanted somewhere very nice but good value. Went with my girlfriend - this is an excellent experience. The place is very nicely finished, good atmosphere and was full. My understanding is that as the popularity grows it is becoming more difficult to get a table and it is clear why. The service was also very well done. The food is excellent. The concept is simple - well cooked, high quality meat which is affordable. Based on the night the featherblade or the hangar which I had are cooked to perfection. Coupled with a number of sides that included mac and cheese as well as tasty creamed spinach makes for a wonderful main course. We both had different deserts which were also unique. What struck me about the main however is that I ate in a different Dublin restaurant, renowned for steaks, 2 weeks ago and paid just over 20 euro more for a similiar piece of meat - the value that this restaurant is offering is really impressive. Wine is also very good value and is sold by volume which means you get high quality for a better price. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for lunch or dinner as you will not get better value or quality anywhere nearby. The concept is simple and it works which explains the popularity which is likely to grow. read more

I went here a few weeks back, but still remember and recommend this place to everyone I can. I ordered the classic steak with the whiskey peppercorn sauce and still dream about it to this day. It was smooth and buttery, and cooked to perfection. Easily the best steak I've ever had. Went here with three colleagues from work as part of a staff night out, not just myself but we all had a fantastic night. The FXB stake was delicious as was the lamb starter and desert didn't disappoint either. There was really busy so it's a good think we had it book in advance, despite being busy the service was promt perfect time between courses and our waiter Eoin was on point with everything from food recommendations to the drinks at no point did we feel rushed so they could free up our table. The food the service and the atmosphere was top notch.. best piece of steak I have had !! Would highly recommend featherblade for social nights out, dinner dates or any occasion. read more

We took a chance going here without a reservation and the staff managed to accommodate us within a few minutes. Food selection isn't big but what they do offer is delicious. Food was fresh and of high quality, steaks were cooked perfectly and so tasty. Service was great too. Not to mention value for money...which isn't always the case with steakhouses. When we got there, it looked like it was a set menu for I think €34 for several courses, with no opportunity to order a la carte. Fortunately, my husband had been there before and asked if there was an a la carte menu because there had been last time. I ordered their namesake steak, which came already cut up. It was way too chewy and had a terrible texture. I suspect this is why they cut it up before serving. We each got one side each. The sweet potatoes were good, but the broccoli was almost raw. For both of our dinners, it was €29. If we had ordered off the original menu that the server gave us, we would have ended up with a bill of €68. The restaurant was incredibly loud as well, which could be improved with better acoustics. read more

Having dined at Featherblade on more than one occasion I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The atmosphere, music, drinks menu is all fantastic but it's all about the steak. I have enjoyed many a steak in my time but not one as perfectly cooked as their signature featherblade. From the middle of the steak to the outside it was all beautifully medium rare, which melted like butter, there was no bulls eye effect here. This time I had the confit chicken which had a fantastic crisp skin and a Korean hot sauce. With the steak we ordered one of each of the six sides. I particularly enjoyed the beef dripping chips and the truffle mac n cheese - which is a delicacy of its own. For dessert I had the white chocolate and thyme cheesecake, which was beautifully creamy and the thyme work really well. I had a couple of amber ales to wash it all down. A fantastic meal from start to finish - but the steak is the star of the show and at €13 its a steal. I cannot wait for my next visit. read more
