Nice candle shop. Got a beautiful iron wick trimmer - the kind to last a lifetime! Got a Santal candle. Scent is amazing.

Most mass-market candles are made with toxic paraffin wax or some kind of "unknown" blend, while these are 100% soy. Noted candles lasts longer than almost any candle I've used, and their reed diffusers are excellent too. I bought a Winterberry diffuser at the end of November, and now it's mid-May and it still has a little less than half left. They also have a "bring back your used candle" program where you get a few dollars off your current purchase, which is a great way to reduce waste and help customers save money. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the pricing. The candles are quite expensive for the size: $44 for a 16 oz candle and $28 for an 8 oz. They're probably some of the most expensive candles I've purchased. That said, while I disagree with the pricing (event pricing too), I continue to shop here (not as often as I wish) because I don't buy candles unless I can smell them first, sand I've been coming here for over three years. You can try to get candles on-sale, but that is only at the end of the season to make room for new or returning scents. If you're looking for value in terms of quality, scent, and burn time, you'll find it here. You can tell a ton of love goes into this shop.

My favorite thing are my Sage and my cleansing candles alongside my protection spray that she recommended that smells wonderful and alongside my spirit guides protecting me, I do feel like the spray helps.. Every time I walk into Open Doors , I'm greeted with such welcoming individuals. You feel like you're home. They're right there to share stories or help you find what you need. A lot of the merchandise does center around "paper" like cards, gift wrapping accessories and stationery. However that turns out to be just the tip of the iceberg. Some of the other things they have include Vera Bradley merchandise, costume jewelry, the very fun Alex & Ani bracelet collection, some women's clothing, candles, children's toys, books, local Massachusetts items, home decor like Mariposa and plenty of other things that can be attention grabbers. It's crazy how I can get myself caught up in here looking around. It's hard not to find a little something to buy myself or something as a fun gift for a friend. Ironically I suppose, I don't love the card selection as they Hallmark which are not my favorite. Last year I purchased a Vera Bradley carry-on tote for a trip I was taking. It's a travel bag I've come to love. Not only is it pretty (VB fabrics can be really eye-catching) but I can fit so many things into it and because it's "soft-sided" it's easy to stuff into an overhead bin on a plane or even under the seat. Contrary to another review which said returns are difficult, I found it quite easy to exchange an Alex & Ani bracelet I received at Christmas. I had gotten two of the same bracelet and they happily let me pick out another even without having a receipt. If you sign up for their rewards program, you will regularly receive coupons and a special treat in your birthday month. Nothing too precious here, just some happy shopping in a large, clean, friendly store.

The name is ironic because this place is lacking in social graces!…read more We ordered a rubber stamp with our name & return address on it for our Christmas cards. Foolishly, we didn't ask how much it was but I had seen them online in the $20-$30 range so we figured it would be somewhere around that. We had to pay before we received the finished product and when she rang us up and said, "That will be $50" I nearly fell over - $50 for a rubber stamp! I would definitely have said "Forget it, I changed my mind" (and then gotten a blister on my hand from writing out all of my own return addresses) but my husband is too polite for that. So, 2 weeks passed and we got the call that it was ready. It looked awful! It didn't look anything like the font we ordered. But to be fair, all we saw for a sample was a name that didn't contain any of the same letters as our name. I'm thinking they really should have a sample of what every letter in the alphabet will look like when printed since they're asking you to pay for something sight unseen. The cursive "L" in our last name was dreadful and barely recognizable. It actually looks like an "S". Even my husband agreed that it looked awful and he normally wouldn't care about such things. When I mentioned it to the staff they were completely in denial about it looking bad and said I could not return it because it was "personalized". My options were: a) Order another one of a different font - but it would not arrive before Christmas. Plus, I didn't like any of the other samples and basically, I didn't trust that another one would look good either. b) Have them print return addresses on all of the envelopes for my Christmas cards, which wouldn't have worked because my cards were already sealed. They were just so unapologetic about the whole thing and somewhat rude. The girl at the register kept going into the back room to talk to the manager about the situation - but the manager didn't have the decency to come and speak to me herself. Now I'm stuck with a ridiculously crappy looking $50 stamp and I hope the recipients of my Christmas cards can tell that it's an "L" and not the "S" that it looks an awful lot like. I will never go into this place again. Ever.
