An emergency left me in the ER with doctors and nurses asking me whether a small piece of dried yellowish paint was acrylic or oil, artist or other-- I had no idea. The only thing I could think to do was hurry to an art store and ask if they knew. My first stop was Michael's and the glazed over distant look in the employees eyes told me that I was wasting my time there. My brother-in-law shops at Riverside Art so I thought "what the Hell..." After just a few minutes of crumbling, smelling, and diluting they were able, with 100% confidence, to tell me exactly what kind of paint it was. Because of the strange color they were even able to give me a specific brand. Not too bad when all I brought them was a piece of dried paint and a whole lot of anxiety. They took a genuine interest in my problem and did the best they could to help me-- for that I am very appreciative and have been recommending them to everyone who asks me about art or framing.

Very disappointed recently - paid for a custom mounting of a canvas print - I gave careful instructions on my request - when i went to pick it up, I found that the image on the print was bent around the edges of the underlying frame. The painted image just ends in space - When I mentioned this, the young lady was dismissive - " these things get stretched when they get mounted" - Understood. So they actually mounted it on a framework that was too small. Too bad for me. I don't think it is reparable. I dont mind if mistakes are made. Just be respectful.

She gave good advice and spent as much time as we needed to assist our choice of a gift for our niece. This location is a bit difficult to find. Check their directions or your GPS. When you arrive there is a table with hand sanitizer and a bell to ring for service. If they don't come right out call their number. I can't wait to come back when it is safe to shop inside, until then we'll follow the protocol if we need art supplies.

She had loads of samples, a little paint tester area, perfect understanding of each product in her shop, and was extremely easy to talk with. She also carries some very on-trend vintage items and colorful rugs. The hours change a bit so be sure to call ahead, though I think she does by appointment, also. In a world of Super Mega Corporations it's really nice to have a reliable source such as Pro Chem with real human employees to answer any questions or concerns you may have. The office staff are so nice and will rush a pickup order for you at any time. Now, this is by no means a retail store. Their offices are really just administrative staff and order processors so you'll have to do your shopping and browsing either online or in their catalog. They ship every where but if you're in the Fall River area, you can pick your order up to avoid shipping fees. I highly recommend you peruse their website, it's a great resource for not only textile supplies but they also have hundreds of instructional pamphlets that you can download and print for free.
