I know this isn't like the normal art store review but I wanted to mention how amazing they were…read more The knowledge from the staff in this store blows me away. An emergency left me in the ER with doctors and nurses asking me whether a small piece of dried yellowish paint was acrylic or oil, artist or other-- I had no idea. The only thing I could think to do was hurry to an art store and ask if they knew. My first stop was Michael's and the glazed over distant look in the employees eyes told me that I was wasting my time there. My brother-in-law shops at Riverside Art so I thought "what the Hell..." After just a few minutes of crumbling, smelling, and diluting they were able, with 100% confidence, to tell me exactly what kind of paint it was. Because of the strange color they were even able to give me a specific brand. Not too bad when all I brought them was a piece of dried paint and a whole lot of anxiety. They took a genuine interest in my problem and did the best they could to help me-- for that I am very appreciative and have been recommending them to everyone who asks me about art or framing.

Very disappointed recently - paid for a custom mounting of a canvas print - I gave careful instructions on my request - when i went to pick it up, I found that the image on the print was bent around the edges of the underlying frame. The painted image just ends in space - When I mentioned this, the young lady was dismissive - " these things get stretched when they get mounted" - Understood. So they actually mounted it on a framework that was too small. Too bad for me. I don't think it is reparable. I dont mind if mistakes are made. Just be respectful.

The store is essentially a storybook cottage, filled to the brim with everything a knitter or crocheter could ever want, and presided over by the fabulous "Auntie Zaza"! Yes, the owner of the shop is an ever-delightful presence, enchanting shoppers with her bubbly personality and enthusiastic manner. She even gives knitting lessons to craftspeople of all ages and skill levels, and even though I haven't knit a stitch in my life, I look forward to signing up for one of her classes in the near future. Easton may be a bit "out of the way" for Yelp's decidedly Boston-based user makeup, but if you want to support an awesome small business and get some of the best yarn and crochet / knitting accessories on the South Shore, Auntie Zaza's is the place to go!

They have a lot of mid price range blend, which I am so about and also some nice higher end yarns. Not only was the selection great, but so are the owners! Both the owner and her daughter are the most lovely woman. The owner has spent a lot of time in Seattle (where I live) and was even able to give me recommendations for a good yarn store there, as I've been struggling to find a good fit for me! She even took a few moments to show me a new technique! Wonderful store with a wonderful selection and even more wonderful people!!
