Instructions on how to renew your registration

As always, you gotta come here once a year. I came on a Tuesday afternoon and there were about 6 people in front of me. The line went pretty quickly and the staff was very friendly. I was in and out of there within 15 mins or less.

Why does everyone wait until the last day of the month to renew their car tags? This place is a madhouse on the 30th and 31st of every month. Next year I'll be paying the few extra dollars and have my tag and renewed registration mailed to me. If you must get your drivers license renewed, I recommend the Regency Road location... a lot less chaos and not to mention the horiffic parking. Yeah they updated the garage and it has nice colored lights that shine bright at night, but it's parking and distance to the inside are bad. I can't believe that we now have to pay to park in it... I guess someone has to pay to keep the lights on, huh?

Good to know when it's 4:32. Seriously, get some real hours.

Since this is a public service, I can't conscientiously give them a great score. I'll be honest though. This visit wasn't terrible. Granted, the hours are pretty weak. Monday through Friday, 8-4:30. If you work a day job, you have to take a day off during your workweek to visit here. It's not bad enough already they you have to do it during your birth month. Ranting aside, I went in mid-week, mid-month, and before noon (strategically). I wasn't even there a half hour. It was great. Also, when I realized that I didn't have my currently insurance card handy, the clerk allowed me to send a digital copy of it to their email. They do take cards and checks, so no big deal there. Having to pay to park here is pretty lame, however. I mean, you're already getting my money. What's another $.75 ? Here, take it.

Line at the end of the month!

Professional auto mechanics. I would strongly recommend if you're searching for a mechanic…read more I had over 100,000 miles on a van, and I needed to have several maintenance issues looked into. I wasn't having problems with my vehicle, but I drive it all over the US and Canada and need to keep it reliable. They offer the exact service I needed, where they do a complete vehicle inspection. What I like is that they send a text when completed with a complete breakdown of the results, including pics when necessary (see picture). I had them do a lot of work for me, as I hadn't really done much to the van maintenance-wise for the first 100,000 other than oil changes and replacing the air filter. It was three days of work on the vehicle, so that gives you an idea of how much work I had them do. Was it cheap? Not to me. But I'm an old man. Everything seems high to me. But it was quite a bit cheaper than dealership costs, which is exactly what I was looking for from an independent mechanic. And while I wasn't having any problems with the van, I can definitely tell a difference in the way it is running now. It runs like a new car. And they offer a three year/36000 mile warranty on their work. That's a fair deal. So, while I had some shock at the cost of maintenance, it was pennies on the dollar compared to replacing with a new vehicle. I probably spent six months of new car payments on maintenance, which is pretty good math in my book. I'll be working with them again in the future.

I stopped in about a month ago to a quote on repairing an oil leak. I was told I had to have an…read moreinspection first which the cost would be waived if I had it repaired there. Very reasonable. I was given a quote of over 6,000 dollars that included 2,500 for the oil leak and about 4,000 for other issues. I appreciated having the 52 point inspection but these prices were a red flag to me. I have since taken my vehicle to another shop and had all the repairs done for literally half as much as I was quoted here. Not saying these guys don't do quality work, they were also very professional. However in the current state of inflation it's worth noting that this place seems to be on the high end of the price scale.

Today I went to get my car checked out for a right headlight that was out. When I received my car…read moreback, I found that the left blinker was going faster than usual on my dashboard. I ended up looking the cause up on my phone and there were two factors: 1.) the light may not be hooked up properly or 2.) the bulb was burned out. I ended up calling this location and they stated they would look at it and if the bulb burned out, they would replace it, no charge. I ended up taking it back today and they replaced it, but stated that the bulb had burned out. So my line of thinking is that if this morning they had replaced my headlight and I know that my car is an old model; a mechanic would look at the left light to compare the wiring (if they did not know how to replace the other headlight). When this happened, they might have forgotten to connect the blinking light bulb. When I had taken it back, I was met by a manager and two techs, one whom had replaced one of my headlights before. I am glad that they had taken the time out of their busy schedule (because there were a lot of cars needing attention to fix this issue). I ended up finding out it was a burnt out bulb; however, I found it a bit odd how it could have burned out the around the time my right headlight burned out and on the same EXACT day that I had taken my right headlight to be fixed. I must be one really unlucky driver. I will never know because I cannot go into the garage when mechanics are working nor can I see video evidence in the garage of how mechanics are fixing my car. I feel like the onus is always on the customer; however, at least it is fixed now. I like to think of this as a contribution to society. Because it was fixed, no matter the issue, other drivers on the road will know when I am making my left turn. This will save more lives, which is more important than $100 worth of labor and parts. Thank you.

I was traveling on New Circle Rd in a narrow construction zone in heavy traffic when my car…read moretransmission would not engage. It was very hot outside and my air was not working the best. I managed to get off New Circle Rd onto another side road and was able get a tow truck and they recommended AAMCO and took it there. I was late afternoon and the shop was getting ready to close for the day. So I spoke to Al the next morning. The shop was booked up for the day (July 3rd) and Al said it would be Friday July 5th before they would be able to look at my car. I checked with them Friday morning and asked them to check my air conditioner while they were diagnosing the transmission, Al said the would. A short time later Al called and let me know the diagnosis and the cost. My car was ready very soon and the price was very good. I am a happy customer! I drove home to west Tennessee with no further problem.

Al at Aamco was recommended to me by my regular mechanic who, after running the check engine codes,…read morewinced and said I needed someone who specialized in transmission issues. Transmission issues. The dreaded phrase that strikes to the very heart of a car owner's bank account! I had the car towed to Aamco with fear in my soul! Al was able to look at my 04 Trailblazer the next day. He called to say he'd determined the problem was electrical, rather than transmission-related. (In my book, "electrical" is the SECOND scariest word in car repair.) He explained in detail how long he would spend looking for the wiry, sparky culprit, how much it would cost, and when he would stop to review with me what he'd found and if I wanted to continue if it couldn't be fixed quickly. Later in the day, he called to say that the problem was fixed and that it had been so straightforward, I'd only be charged the labor fee he'd quoted me earlier in the day! Now--I know I got away with a small bill, which alone would make me happy. But Al was extremely up-front with me about cost and time, was sensitive to my concerns about both, and (most importantly) did NOT take advantage of the fact that I was ready to shell out much more to get the problem fixed. I would recommend this shop to anyone, particularly if you have concerns about transmission issues.
