It was heartbreaking to see them closed for nearly a year following the crash that kept their doors shut, but the shop looks great and the community is lucky to have them back. The menu is packed with choices, and there are so many ice cream flavors to choose from. I went with the Bordeaux Cherry in a fresh, house-made waffle bowl, and it was a delectable treat. The staff behind the counter were not only friendly but also very funny, which made the experience even better. There is plenty of seating both inside and out for enjoying your dessert. It is such a welcoming environment, and we are so happy to see this Hillsboro staple back in action!

The shop smells heavenly when you walk in and that enticed the 3 of us to each order a waffle bowl for our yummy ice-cream. I was excited to see they have so many great flavors and they carry my favorite peanut butter and chocolate. My son ordered Huckleberry heaven and hubby had the cherry Bordeaux. The gentleman behind the counter was not super friendly or welcoming. Maybe he was annoyed because we all ordered waffle bowls that he was making anyway.

Since the loss of Lovejoys we've been trying different tea places around the area but Skywater is…read morethe best one we've tried so far. There's nice ambience, a large tea selection, wonderful tea sandwiches that were traditional flavors but impeccably done with soft milk bread and the best mayos (dukes, Kewpie). The scones were nice, esp the summer menu peach ones, the clotted cream is good and they make it there. The Oreo cheesecakes were so unusually delicious, I was so surprised and delighted by how good they were and wish I had gotten the recipe. My favorite treat tho was the nectarine panna cotta we were served while we waited for our tea. Our host was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to really care about the details of afternoon tea.

Skywater Tea House in Hillsboro has a truly wonderful afternoon high tea experience…read more Everything feels thoughtful and special from the moment you sit down. The tea service is beautifully presented, with lovely tiered trays of savory bites, sweets, and pastries that make the whole afternoon feel like a real occasion. What stood out most was how relaxing and elegant the experience felt without ever seeming stiff or overly formal. The teas were excellent, and the whole service invited you to slow down and enjoy yourself. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger, talk a little longer, and order one more pot of tea. There's a charm to Skywater that is hard to fake. It feels welcoming, peaceful, and carefully done in all the right ways. For a special outing, a celebration, or just a beautiful afternoon treat, their high tea is a delight. Five stars.

After grabbing a cheesesteak from East Coast Eddie's, I can definitely say I love them! You get service with a smile and quick too. I ordered the original with provolone, came with fries. The sandwich itself was sizable, lots and lots of meat, peppers, onions and melty cheese. The meat was seasoned perfectly, and tender with crispy edges. Yummers!! The pile of fries was enormous! I normally don't like thick cut fries. These were great --- fully cooked through with a good crunch outside and good potato flavor throughout. They appeared to be hand cut. Right amount of salt, not greasy. In fact, I took half home and air fried them for lunch the next day. Very little oil on the surface and crisped up nicely. Judging by the other reviews, Eddie's is apparently the real deal and high quality for a cheesesteak. All I know is this food was really good and reasonably priced. I am going back whenever I get the craving!

I appreciated the right bun AND that it wasn't overwhelmed by too much cheese. Service was fabulous too, as he brought our lunch out to us and took the time to provide a bit of presentation.

I'm back in Hillsboro, fully vaccinated and having some long-awaited time with the family. There…read morewas a heat spell during my visit, and one of the nieces suggested ice cream. However, last year, we'd had a terrible experience at what we thought was the only ice cream place in the neighborhood. Apparently, the gun-toting owner doesn't think much of his neighbors and felt the need to share his thoughts about Hillsboro protesting the killing of George Floyd -- who you may recall was suffocated to death by a Minneapolis police officer who was later convicted of Floyd's murder. The ice cream man thought this was OK, and also encouraged customers to sign a petition to recall Oregon's governor. He and his friends must be suffering from dementia, because they can't seem to recall Kate Brown no matter what they do. But my niece informed me that they'd started going to a new place across the street. Right between Ochoa's and Pepper's, in a shopping plaza selling phones, money transfers, and quinceanera dresses, was this lovely little neveria and palateria. We have shops that sell paletas back east, but the mango in the ice pops at this one tasted super fresh. My nieces went with ice cream, and opted for colorful, fruity varieties that they hadn't had at other places in town. The owners and workers were incredibly sweet -- and awfully kind to put up with my pidgin Spanish -- and encouraged us to take some paletas home with us. We picked away at them for the rest of the week. There's an old adage out there: You lure more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. My family and I are done going to camo-clad, sidearm-wielding, politically disgruntled vinegar traps to get frozen dessert. From now on, we'll go for the honey at Michoacana right across the street. Judging by the vibrant, thriving neighborhood around it, the honey will long outlast the vinegar anyway.

It's a small storefront in a strip mall right on 10th. Park in the back then walk around to the front of the building. It's a small space, definitely the definition of hole in the wall! There's a poster of the paleta flavors on the left when you walk in, then some drink and ice cream menus on the walls. Place was devoid of people - I was with a friend and after some conversation with them, someone must of heard us and came out front from the back. I had a mango paleta while my friend had an avocado. My fruit paleta was half the size of the avocado one! :( But the flavor was good and mango was tasty. My friend says the avocado was also delicious and not overly sweet (good thing!).
