I was looking for a baby grand piano to replace my digital piano. After doing some research online…read moreand went to a few big piano stores, i found my love - a Yamaha C1 in great condition in Pianotek. Dennis, the owner, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He has a great selection of pianos in his store and the price is very reasonable compared to other big piano stores in the area. Dennis said I can even use the price i paid for my Yamaha to upgrade to a Steinway as a credit within 10 years! After sale service is great too. I got my C1 6 months ago and Dennis is the one who maintains and tunes it. I will highly recommend Pianotek to anyone who is in the market of buying a quality piano.

Dennis reinforced that the work that has been done was up to standard. My pianos have never sounded better. He gave me a welcomed and thorougd history of both of my Steinways. Having gone through multiple tuners, it is of no doubt that he is the one. His wisdom of the mechanics and the intricacies of the instrument is evident. I have had the same tuner for several generations and he is the first one that has respected the instrument and the work that has been done. Every tuner has their own phrases that they test during tuning. Dennis is a genius. Plain and simple. His tests are the equivalent of a Carnegie Hall performance. An absolute brilliant mind. Most tuners are a chore to get through and with him, it is a performance. He taught me many things I would have never known. He is as good as it gets. There aren't enough food words. An incredibly kind and knowledgeable gentleman and a master in his craft I reinforce the other voices on Yelp and would wholeheartedly recommend Pianotek and their services. It doesn't get any better. .

My childhood home was in the last stretch of closing and I had to find a good piano mover in order…read moreto set an actual closing date. The entire house needed to be completely cleared in only 4 days for the final "walk through." I had already flown back to LA but was confident that I would find someone on Yelp in no time. I searched piano movers in the Westchester, New York area, read several reviews and then made a few inquiries over the phone. After getting a few price quotes, my intuition told me to go with Sherzod at "Magic Piano Movers." He was very nice to talk with and took the time to explain step by step how they would pack up my baby grand piano before they moved it to its destination in Monroe, NY. The price was $650 which included gas, tolls, packing it up securely/safely, and setting it up at the new location. He also asked if any steps or stairs were at either location since they charged an extra fee for any steps over 3. Sher was very honest and upfront which I appreciated. My cousins met the movers at my house at 9:00 am on Saturday. They told me that they were on time, early even, and did an excellent job getting the baby grand out of the house. They broke it down, wrapped it up to protect it and got it on the truck very quickly. It was comforting to know that my piano was in good hands while 3,000 miles away. I HIGHLY recommend Piano Movers.

Here is an example: "Unless a greater valuation is stated herein, the depositor or owner declares that the value in case of loss or damage arising out of storage, transportation, packing, unpacking, clearing or handling of the goods and the liability of the company for any cause for which it may be storage, transportation, packing, unpacking, clearing or handling of the goods and liability of the company for any cause for which it may be liable for each or any piece or package and the contents thereof does not exceed and is limited to the standard/minimum amount set by the comp any and based on the size of the instrument." I asked them to add the value of the piano to the contract and they refused. At one point they didn't want me to call so we had to go back and forth over text. Who does business that way??? To have the piano covered for its full value they asked me to pay $150 extra for insurance. How can a piano moving company not have their own liability insurance that covers the total cost of a piano??? Eventually I got tired of texting and went with someone else. Bottom line, train the people answering the phone so they understand the business, can make decisions and don't have to go back and forth to "the boss" and make the customers wait all day over text to get basic agreements settled. Very unprofessional.
