She listened and understood my concerns and used specific products and curled my hair a certain way and the curls LASTED ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!!!!! They also do custom foundations!!!! ITS AMAZING! They customize it to your preference of coverage, matte, dewy, spf, and minerals! You name it, they got it! They keep your record on file so that you can easily call back and they'll make it for you again to come pick up! I'M HOOKED!!!!!!!! Photo attached, taken on July 4th, the day after. My hair was fried from HOURS in bleach. The color was inconsistent. I ended up crying on the floor of Target to buy bleach just so I could have something that looked close to normal. I had to chop off 6 inches of hair and give myself bangs because of the sheer volume of fried hair. It is several months later and I have spent close to $2500 trying to fix my hair. The ends are still crispy and break off and my hair is barely chin length. Of note, he barely wore a mask the entire time. He also left bleach in my hair while he went into the hallway to argue with a girl who took a photo of him doing hair without a mask. He also commented on my husband who is of Chinese descent something to the effect of "I love Asian men! They are like f*cking a dolphin because they are so smooth!" He also kept sneaking in the back to take shots of vodka so pretty sure he wasn't sober most of the time. These are just the highlights of the experience. Suffice it to say, I will not be going back and I would not recommend this business to anyone I want to remain friends with.

I found the Blo Blow Dry Bar and saw that you could set up an appointment fairly easily last minute to get a wash and scalp massage, and at a pretty reasonable price. I decided that I'd just get the whole shebang, and get my hair styled and my makeup done too. Then I wouldn't have to burden myself with doing any of that on my birthday. The woman who took care of me was wonderful! She asked what the special occasion was, and I let her know that my partner was pampering me for my birthday. She washed my hair with a lovely scalp massage, and asked if I wanted to add any hair treatments, which I did because hey, it was my birthday. The one she put on my hair made it so soft, and since I don't have a salon appointment scheduled until February, it will hopefully keep my hair fairly healthy until then. I loved how she styled my hair, which gave it tons of body. I actually think it looked even better later on that day, and the next day. The makeup was done by the same person. She was very complimentary about my skin and face. I'm very particular about how my makeup (and hair actually) and done. I thought she went a little overboard on how much makeup she put on, but that's probably just my opinion. In the pictures the makeup looks very well done, which makes sense due to the fact that they are used to doing wedding makeup, and there's a lot of photo taking at weddings. For daily wear, it's just too much makeup. I ended up wiping some off just so I didn't look too made up for going on errands and the like. Overall, it was a great experience. It ended up being quite a bit more money than I originally thought it was going to be, but most of it was worth it. I made an appointment for a consult and met the fabulous Rachel. From the moment I chatted with her, I trusted her implicitly. She understood my concerns, my hopes, and -- most importantly -- my hair. She was one of the warmest people I had ever met and our rapport was immediate. Since that time, I have come to know more about this young, brilliant stylist. She is gracious, effervescent, gentle, and interesting. I persuaded my husband -- who hadn't been to a stylist in about six decades -- to come with me and have Rachel cut his hair. He said that he now knew what I'd been raving about for months. Beyond Rachel, the salon is wonderful. They recently moved into new and upscaled quarters. It is contemporary and sleek, yet exudes a warm welcome; it is open and bright, and yet gives a feeling of privacy in each stylist's space; it is softly-scented, evoking a mood of calm and serenity, and yet there is enough bustle and enthusiastic conversation to highlight the camaraderie between stylist and client. Deseo is eco-conscious -- a place where sustainabillity feels indulgent, not austere! Being there is a restorative experience. The front desk staff is outstanding, too. On a very personal note, I want to share two quick stories. One day I arrived at my appointment and was suddenly called to a family member's medical emergency. Despite their policy about cancelled appointments, they understood, didn't charge me, and told me to take my time and that I could rebook whenever I wished. The first time my husband accompanied me, he was offered -- as is everyone upon entering -- a beverage. He requested decaf coffee which they did not have. Yesterday, on his second visit, the lovely receptionist told him that she had ordered decaf specifically because he had asked for it on his first visit. For someone to go above and beyond based on the "need" of one customer is a sign of the caring that this salon exhibits. I cannot say enough good things about Deseo. Go here! Relax here! Enjoy here!
