As a child, I could remember him actually coming to my house when I was ill, not because he had to, but because he truly does care. He was my doctor for years and he was always very dismissive of me. Anytime I had something "female" related that I was worried about, Faugno often called me dramatic or did not believe me and it was extremely frustrating and disheartening. I've been going to Dr. Faugno every since I moved to North NJ. I never had an issue with his care. He was helpful to me when I had some serious health issues and I feel bad about this review, but do hope he sees it. The last time I went for a visit, I was told to wait in my car until it was my turn for my scheduled appointment. I was there for 2 hours and the office staff was rude whenever I'd call for an update. Dr. Faugno apologized when he saw me. Just a few weeks ago, I called to schedule my annual physical. I was told I could not see the doctor until November (I called in May). I even mentioned that I had some health concerns, but the person who took my call didn't care. I even said I'd have to find another primary care doctor and she just says, "OK," and hung up. It's very hard to find a primary care provider these days. Even though he's a good doctor, his office staff lacks the decency to make his practice sufficient. If you actually can get an appointment, I'd still recommend looking elsewhere as you'll likely be disappointed at some point. This man runs this office as a pure business. I get It, doctors have to do that now more since Healthcare has changed but making patients wait for an hour on a weekend? You have no staff. You have no nurses. You run the low cost / High return model and your office it still not renovated from the 90s. Do your practice and patients a favor and don't overbook your weekends. I'm absolutely disgusted about the rude staff behind the desk. It's utterly infuriating to be a patient and overhear myself being talked about and mocked. I was so uncomfortable, I was on the verge of tears or just bursting out and letting them know I could hear every word. I have been a patient of Dr. Faugno's for years, but after he joined the Hackensack machine, apparently, all that patient history was erased. I was told when I called for a sick visit appointment by the rude woman on the phone, that I was a new patient since I had never been there before. She seemed to ignore what I was telling her about having been a patient of Dr. Faugno's for years. She said that since I was a new patient, the soonest he could see me was April! Is this a joke? Would someone who is sick really wait 5 months to be seen by a doctor??? Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

This review is solely based on the incompetent young women working the window. The girls refused to see me because they told me my insurance wasn't answering the phone to verify I had insurance because it was after 3:30 and they can only call for emergency reasons after that time. MIND YOU, my insurance did not change since the last time I was there. The card was the same. I asked them what did that mean and they said that I would have to either pay out of pocket or reschedule. HMM, let's see. Why would I pay out of pocket when I have insurance? Also, why would I reschedule? Were they somehow going to verify my insurance, the one I still had? I called the insurance company up myself and told them they were incompetent as well to have a message saying emergencies only after 3:30. Regardless, I three-way called the doctor, they verified I was insured LIKE I said I was and HAD been and the girl told me, they did that as a courtesy for you ... very rude. To top it off, NO APOLOGY and once I was verified she didn't even offer for me to come back and to be seen by the doctor. It's so unfortunate because I like Dr. Faugno. He takes his time with patients and listens and has a great bedside manner. So FIVE stars for the DOCTOR. 0 for the young women at the front window. read more

I've been seeing Gerard for years now and he can never properly give me or my family the medication We need. He always try's his best to give you the least amount of support. I was seeing Dr. Faugno for about a year for primary care. His reviews are fantastic--I'm so, so glad that others have had good experiences. I understand that Dr. Faugno has had a long and very successful practice, My first wellness appointment was great, and it felt thorough and attentive. But as I continued to visit for medical concerns, Dr. Faugno became very dismissive. I went to him a couple of times complaining of wrist and forearm pain and stiffness, which he ascribed to the possible development of carpal tunnel syndrome and told me to just sleep with wrist braces. As my symptoms worsened, I went back to him for finger swelling, stiffness, discoloration, and loss of mobility. He said that he didn't see anything wrong, and suggested that I was "bloated" or "retaining water" because of my "time of the month", and told me to "wait it out", to try diuretics, and to "eat less salt" (I try to maintain a very healthy diet, and am 5 ft, 110lbs). I have Hashimoto's disease (autoimmune thyroid disorder), and I know my body well. As I 'waited it out', my symptoms worsened, and spread to my shoulders, and lower extremities too. I knew that this was out of the ordinary for me, that something was very wrong. I persevered and found myself a rheumatologist who is in the process of diagnosing me with polymyositis (a serious autoimmune disease that degenerates and weakens the muscles) after she found critical rheumatological issues in my bloodwork and CK level of over 1200. I regret the wasted time that I wasn't sure what to do or where to find care because of Dr. Faugno's misogynistic and dismissive advice. Logistically at this office, I have encountered several issues with my appointments- once I showed up for a scheduled appointment and they had failed to notify me that they had closed the office for the day. At least twice I arrived for an appointment and the front desk staff had accidentally given me the wrong time, and I had to sit in the waiting room for 50-60 minutes to be seen. I understand that no practice is perfect, and that practitioners and office staff are humans that can make mistakes too. I've worked in healthcare before, and I've seen how difficult managing a patient caseload, keeping things timely, and meeting so many individual needs can be. For folks who are generally well and need superficial medical care, every now and then, I recommend this office. But for folks who are prone to autoimmune, genetic, or chronic illnesses, and who need a bit more time, attention, open-mindedness, or referrals, I suggest going elsewhere. read more

Efficient, pleasant enough physician and office staff. Not a long wait time. Follow up is quick with test results. Doctor isn't the warmest individual so don't expect much small talk or the like but if that doesn't matter to you then this works fine. read more

The best general care physician in southern Bergen County! I have been a patient of Dr. Faugno since 2008. He is very attentive and caring. He is available six days a week, typically, from as early as 7 AM until after 7 PM. What separates Dr. Faugno from most physicians is when you have a medical emergency. The receptionists will get him on the phone and he will advise you directly. I also like that when I go for my annual physical. He will draw blood so I don't have to go to a separate blood laboratory testing facility. read more

dr faugno is an amazing doctor dedicated to his patients. he often works long hours to ensure his patients can be seen. he takes the time to ask about your history and encourage you to do follow ups as necessary. he also takes blood pressure and blood himself instead of passing it off to an aide lol. read more

Dr. Faugno is the best doctor i have ever been to. I have been his patient for 20 years. the wait is usually no long. of course, you can wait a bit long if he has a emergency patient or the exam takes longer than expected. You would want the same courtesy if you had a complex issue. Dr Faugno NEVER turns anyone away in need of medical care. He has always helped me and is willing to answer all my questions. he writes down instructions on the meds he gives you and explains what they are for. EVERY doctor should be like Dr. Faugno, but unfortunately 99% are not. read more
