Uma Duvvuri, MD - This is Dr. Uma Duvvuri. ‍

Worst ever doctor visited in USA, the doctor doesn't even have the curtesy to call back and inform…read moreabout the issue that i visited for. She charges an hefty amount for the sloppy job she does. Never visit this doctor!

Dr. Uma Duvvuri Has unfortunately been my primary care since December 2016 up until one week ago…read more When I first became her patient, she asked me to sign releases from other providers so she gets the info that is scanned into my chart, however, doesn't review or ask questions, or suggest further referrals or options. Or try to make a collaborative care effort. So why bother asking? Duvvuri is 100% narcissistic! Her personality is utterly disgusting. She's rude beyond measure, condescending, incompetent, doesn't explain medical concerns or blood work, disrespectful and has no people skills. All she does is circles things of concern. No explanation or anything. And you won't even get your medications. If she circles something on my blood work and tells me it's a concern, why not give me medication? why do I have to call or beg for a medication that I need?! Especially since she diagnosed me with anemia! Why must I call and request iron pills? Like if I didn't call two weeks ago, I wouldn't have my iron pills. Not to mention, years ago I was diagnosed with a very severe allergy condition which constantly gives me hives so there are medications that I must never run out of to prevent me from going to the emergency room and having to get steroids. I have had several conversations with her emphasizing the need for these medications! You would think that because she has those medical records from my dermatologist, with the appropriate diagnosis, that she should give me refills, as opposed to me having to call her every damn month to renew it! This is a medication that is of great necessity. It would make my life so much easier if she would just have given me 3 to 6 month supply. My allergic condition is permanent it's not going away. It's a shame. She just doesn't even know me as a patient. For example, July 2017 I had an annual physical and I saw her October 2017 and she told me that it's time for my annual physical. Like what? Then Last year (2017), I told her that my grandfather (prostate and carcinoma cancer) aunt (whole body, smoker on her death bed) and uncle (prostate cancer) developed cancer in their 40's. So she told me that I am eligible to be screened. Guess when I got tested ?? July 2018! With all of my health related issues, I have had to request certain specialists based on me reviewing my own blood work. I'm not a doctor, I'm just a psychotherapist. Like my a1c and my cholesterol is borderline; I shouldn't have to tell her that I need a nutritionist. But I did. Never got that referral until this year! Even though in 2017 it was a problem. I feel as though I am managing my own care. Like I literally come to the office and tell her what I need. It Should be the reverse. Like I should be getting some of her money since I'm doing most of her work! For instance, When Shawn the excellent LPN was there, I didn't have to worry about anything. My health and necessary care- he took care of. I was not alone. Anything I needed it was taken care of. I did not have to worry or be anxious And he knew my chart / PHI. I was not just an MRN, but Tiffany. He knew me by name and basically did a doctors job. He knew my medical records he was a better doctor than she could ever be. But he's an LPN. A very educated and knowledgeable professional at that. He cares and connects with his patients. He's ideal. And honestly, Shawn is more medically competent than Duvvuri. Shawn Communicates with his patients. Explains things. Discuses options or facilitate referrals. And all I have to do is show up to the specialist appointment. That is what my former Dr.'s in New York did. They made my life easier. And my appointments were 15-20 minutes. And because Shawn was a better doctor than she was she took away his responsibilities and eventually transferred him. I am really very disappointed that he was removed because now, I have to manage all of this medical stuff by constantly coming to Nutley to get her to do what a doctor should do. Also I have witnessed Duvvuri, being disrespectful, obnoxious and condescending to staff in front of me. I was concerned about how she speaks to Heidi, Amanda, Vicki and Heather. They all help me with more than just referrals. Dr. Duvvuri is beyond unprofessional. How she treats staff, pisses me off because they know my chart / health info etc. They all have SIGNIFICANTLY helped. And I do not want them to quit or feel bullied or feel like Duvvuri can get rid of them, like she did with Shawn. It just seems to me now that Shawn is gone, the girls feel as though they are walking on eggshells. Plus feeling that way is a distraction from getting things done. As a therapist I am very observant of human behavior. And the girls are very anxious by tapping on the desk, holding their heads down, pacing, not looking happy as they usually do, energy is very low. And they are very quiet. As if they are afraid to speak. And constantly looking to see if she is coming.

Was absolutely disrespected and verbally assaulted when suggesting a prescription to the doctor…read moretheir. He lost his temper and accused me of lying about my medical condition. Will not be going back!!! I am changing PCP ASAP!

I was a patient with this practice since the beginning, actually the current physicians took it…read moreover and I decided to stay. Over the years it has gotten progressively worse. It is not uncommon to make an appointment, show up on time, and wait for several hours to be seen. The diagnosis and treatment received has become mediocre at best. All test results require an additional visit, even when the results do not require additional actions or treatment. I am assuming this is so they can charge your insurance for the visit and collect your co-pay. If at all possible seek treatment somewhere else. The receptionists and office personnel are not very considerate or kind either. I will say the office atmosphere is very professional. The problem is, it is so professional I think they forgot they are dealing with people. In my opinion I believe they are more concerned about their practice and the possibility of lawsuits then their patients. In the past I would have defended this practice. My entire family had decided to leave a long time ago and advised me to seek medical treatment somewhere else. I choose to stay until recently, I had no choice but to seek treatment elsewhere and to my surprise the experience was wonderful. The physician took the time to speak with me and get to know me. They did an entire panel of blood tests and called me with the results (no additional appointment) and even called in a prescription for some medication needed to a pharmacy of my choice (again, no visit needed). When reading the results they took their time and made sure I understood the results. If you disagree with my comments above it is probably because professional treatment is not something that has been experienced. This Review is based on my experience with this establishment and is my opinion
