This place is so unprofessional, unwelcoming and just dirty. My daughter had a 1pm appt and it's 2:30pm and not seen. Facility is not well maintained in cleanliness. Do not come here unless you really need to like we had to. I rather wait until our doctor is back from vacation. One MA takes the blood pressure and weight THEN almost two hours later another MA takes the visual exam. Yes two different MA taking vitals. Asked when we were going to be seen? Sorry we only have 1 doctor. This is sad, unprofessional and honestly just not worth it. We ended up leaving close to 4pm. Only reason it gets 1 star is because we have to leave a star. read more

I have been coming here since December 2016. 1st provider that examined me was Dr. Uma Duvvuri.I totally dislike her. She has no or rather poor bed side manner, and even when she tries it is totally weird. Like you cannot fake patient care. Anywho, she does not know how to communicate with patients at all. When I meet with her, it feels like a "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" situation. Total hit and run. That's how fast she interacts with you. She does not take the time to get to know you at all. She will tell you things that you need without evening realizing that you have done it with her in the last appointment. Sigh, what else can I say? Just do not like her. But I continue to go because the medical assistants are way better than she is with patient care. They know all of my medical concerns and follow up with me. They do more of the work. Including the nurses. Plus they know more medical stuff and diagnoses. Its really weird. But what I do not like is the fact the Uma, mistreats the staff their in front of people. It is so horrible. You can sense the moral in the office. It is that bad. People have quit and been forced to transfer to another location because she behaves like it is her practice. There were several issues that needed to be addressed at this location. Firstly, the long wait time with no patient in the waiting area is unacceptable. Location does not open on time, and there is no accountability for all the delay. Filling out booklets of forms in this electronic Era. Secondly, the behavior of the staff towards patients is extremely unprofessional. They ask you for the reason for your visit although you have answered it while making the appointment. The reason to double-check is for billing purposes, which seems to be irrelevant until the service is performed. They weigh you without letting you put down your purse/keys or removing winter jackets and discuss patient details loudly in corridors. This is a clear violation of patient privacy, and making fun of a patient's pain tolerance is disrespectful and insensitive. Lastly, the fact that the healthcare facility does not seem to care about patient reviews or concerns is concerning. They are busy making excuses, stating there is only so much they can do. Also, their response to unsatisfied treatment was that they could provide referrals for other doctors. Overall, experience at this healthcare facility was clearly subpar, and i would seek care from a different provider. read more

Had an appointment for 415 it is now 515 only 1 patient in front of me who has waited even longer. The place is completely empty 3 cars in the parking lot. Scheduling is a disaster in this place, for just one well being visit we had to wait for 2hrs, then they told us that blood work lab was already closed, please come another time for blood. We came another time, another 1.5hrs of waiting. We can't test the iron, sorry, it's not on the file despite doctor said you had to check it every time given your condition. Doctor will be here in three days. We created a big mess, asked to call the police if they wanted us to leave, took us another hour, they gave up and took the blood for iron. Update few weeks: guess what, we got the result of the iron blood, abnormally low and we need to take actions next 6 months. As parents we knew the pre-condition and Dr. Marcus just didn't put it on file, what a professionalism! Conclusion: if we didn't insist, our baby would suffer from iron deficiency which is a crucial element for a growing body. Insanely poor managed practice, stay away! read more

I have a hand injury and my insurance co needed to authorize the test. All that they needed was the Dr (Dr. Chicaiza) to call them for a peer to peer reference and she would not call them. Said that I need to come back in and see her even though i was JUST THERE. So, she wants to charge my insurance co for another visit even tho she just saw me and ordered the MRI? Makes no sense. I can't emphasize enough how badly the service here was. I was given some paperwork to have completed for a health screening and was given this location to go to. I called ahead of time to explain this and asked if I needed an appointment--I was told no. I go the next day just to be told there's a 3 hour wait and I should make an appointment. Ok, whatever, no problem. I make an appointment, go in the next day and give them my paperwork. They look at it all, enter what they need to into their system and tell me to wait. I get a call at one poont (40 mins into waiting) asking if I was ready to use the restroom for part of my health screening and I say yes. They hang up and I wait 25 more minutes just to be told that they actually don't have the proper staff to complete the paperwork that I needed to have done for my employer. They had my paperwork since I got there and it took an hour of me sitting in the waiting room to figure out that I wouldn't be able to be seen? Go anywhere but here. read more

This is for the pediatrics department. I loved seeing Dr.Gupta for my 1.5 yrs old this morning. She is great with kids and my daughter immediately liked her since she distracted and played with her while going about all the wellness check. So i would definitely recommend Dr. Gupta. She is polite, kind and very honest. The front desk staff were really good too. Never have had to wait more than 5-10 mins, but i usually go in for early morning appointments between 8 - 10 am. About the pediatric nurse : she was a young filipino girl and her attitude was horrible!!! I requested the doctor for motrin for my kid since she usually runs a fever after a vaccination & as much as i hate giving her medication i don't wanna see her suffer. The doctor was fine with the motrin but the nurse comes in with the vaccine & motrin & starts questioning me as to why i want to give her motrin. I told her she usually runs a fever and also has to go to daycare. The nurse gave a sarcastic laugh and says "oh i get it, you don't want the daycare to call you during the day"......Umm that's not why i want to give her Motrin but i just want to lessen her suffering coz she's my child and i've noticed a pattern of her getting fever after vaccines (never said that out loud). So yea miss judgemental is out there, so beware! I felt like asking if she has a kid but i guess none of my business. Well i don't think anyone other than a parent could understand their child better, so if you cross paths with her don't let her make you think your a horrible parent. Ignore her! This is in regards to the pediatrics side. I've only started coming here to follow Dr. Marcus when he joined the practice. He's a great pediatrician and the office is near home. I've been happy with him except this office and front desk staff are by far the worst and unapologetic group of people I've ever met. For a pediatric office, it lacks warmth and compassion. And the outsource scheduling makes matters worse cuz almost every time, you'll find yourself double booked. This place is run like a chain fast food restaurant. Correction. Even chain fast food restaurants are much friendlier and greet you with a smile. As much as I like Dr. Marcus, it's not worth bringing my children here because of the staff and Riverside medical group as a whole. Update: Since I wrote this review, I've been back and forth about switching pediatricians only because of the way the office operates. I had recently received a prescription for an Epi-pen equivalent called Auvi-Q. The pharmacy calls me to follow up and explains that there is a smaller dose available for children who fall under a certain weight class. I call the office myself to help expedite the process of getting the Rx filled. Doc isn't in that day so i leave a message with a live front desk staff and she tells me she'll leave a note in my daughter's chart. A week goes by i hear nothing. I made an appt with the doc to discuss in further detail regarding my daughter's newly diagnosed allergy. I follow up with them about the dosing clarification. They have no clue and got no memo. Ok. I'll ask him myself. Dr. Marcus SPECIFICALLY stated he wanted to keep the Rx dose at 0.15 (which is the standard dosing in Epi-pen Jr.) I call the Auvi-Q company/pharmacy a couple days later to let them know, and they inform me that they have already spoken with the office and the Rx had been changed to the smaller dose. I ask who they spoke with because the doc was very certain about leaving it the same, and they say the medical assistant, who apparently spoke with the doctor. Naturally to my puzzlement, I call the office again, and whoever I spoke to (front desk staff) tells me the doc isn't in but their med assistant is handling it. I ask well if it's still being "handled" why did the pharmacy say it's already been changed. The girl says she doesn't know there's someone "handling" it. We go back and forth this way for a good couple of minutes because she didn't seem to understand my concern. And not once, did she make any effort to get it clarified by the med assistant, especially if SHE was the one "handling" this. To put an end to this long winded review, I finally got a hold of the med assistant and she apologized that they're leaving it to the original 0.15. So, to sum up this personal anecdote, I was for one annoyed with the rudeness and dismissive response by the front desk. But I was PARTICULARLY FURIOUS by the miscommunication and dosing error made by whomever that decided to change this prescription, especially without clarifying with the physician himself. Maybe the change is so minute it might have not made a difference. But I'm not about to risk that chance with a life saving drug. Maybe this will get read by someone in the office, maybe it won't. But if you're a parent who brings their children here, please, if you decide to stay with the practice, stay on top of your child's care and don't be afraid to question anything that doesn't seem right. I give this place the extra star because I do appreciate Dr. Marcus's care, his attentiveness, and respect his medical decisions. read more

Dr. Uma Duvvuri is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and caring. She is very detailed oriented will take extra steps to ensure that your time at office is efficient and effective. Referrals are fast and you can get appointments right away as the other provider's office will call. Front desk staffs are friendly and pleasant and will help get your appointments right away. Labs are ordered on time and u can have ur bloodwork done at the office. Medications are called into the pharmacy right away. Worst place ever! You could be dying and they won't even know since they put you in an empty room for 3 hours of wait. Plus the hour wait before that when signing in. Don't even think about complaining because they will do something out of spite. The doctor (Dr. Marcus) prescribed an ointment that was not available anywhere so the pharmacist called and asked the doctor to change it to another option. He deliberately said no he won't change it. Even the pharmacist couldn't understand why since it was only a topical ointment. There were other options available at a lower price but this doctor wants us to drive all over Jersey to find a pharmacy that has the ointment for $60 when we could get the solution instead for free!! read more

My son is having cardiac issues. We saw Dr. Evans, who was not nice us at all. Don't know if it was a bad day for everyone, but the front office was extremely disorganized. Checking in was great, but making an appointment to leave was chaos. We decided to see another Cardiologist somewhere else. I called to cancel this morning and I was asked if I was canceling or canceling and rescheduling. I told her I was just canceling and instead of asking me why, she hung up on me. How can i say this in the nicest way? there is no nice way. Shitty doctors, shitty nurses. Big shoutout to Dr. Ghupta or whatever the hell her name is. I had an 11:00 appointment. Waited until 12 to be called in. But of course, that's how it is every damn time i go here. I had an eye infection 2 weeks ago and my eye doctor told me they couldn't help me as i am sobbing because my eyes are swollen shut. (vision works in clifton ) Instead they sent me to a specialist next door. The specialist helped me thank god and in time for my graduation the next day. Then they said no contacts for 2 weeks and if anything happens again thats abnormal then to get it checked out immediately. so for the past 3 days my eyes have been weirdly red so i stopped wearing my contacts and their still red and bothered . So i wanted to change my eye doctor to this other one i heard was good. I called the one i would like to be transferred to but they said i need an electronic referral from my primary doctor. Which brings me to riverside. Let me for starters say that i asked when making my appointment if the doctor would be able to refer me and explained the situation and they said yes she would she just needs to come in. I go in see dr. gupta and she is always rude every encounter i meet her. she always has something slick to say and thinks everyone will just shut up about it. I go in and tell her about what happened and i need a referral because i need a good eye doctor that can actually help me, check my eyes, and prescribe me new contacts and give me a new reading. Long story short, she denied me the referral . Didn't want to listen to my story even and kept catching an tone and then saying i don't see anything wrong with your eye while they are violently red. She said you don't need an optomolgist and i kept explaining to her that i need a regular eye doctor to do my checkups and buy new contacts and glasses and just incase anything and she just said no i will send over some eye drops and you use them. also kept saying oh this happened because u used ur contacts in again and i said well the EYE SPECIALIST said two weeks no contacts and then i was okay and i even went for a checkup to see if everything was okay. again trying to explain all of this to her and she says well you still should have waited and i said why didn't the eye specialist tell me this and she said they don't know......... isn't it ironic how she thinks that a primary doctor ( that doesn't even want to really do her job) is going to be more of a help to an eye related problem rather than an eye doctor thats entire field of work has to pertain to the eye. Shitty. Shitty. Shitty. I will be calling my insurance and sharing all this since this is just a terrible fucking place and clearly i am not the first to say this. Oh and let me also add how i did my urine test in MARCH. and not one person from that place called to tell me that my protein was high and that was abnormal. I come in for a random check on my eyes because they have been red and slightly burning so i can get referred and then they tell me all this shit. Why didn't i know when i did it in march? Not sure! The nurse had to tell me that my urine test was abnormal so i can have a clue what's going on( 5 months LATER ) and then dr. gupta comes in and says everything's fine and not to mind the results on the paper. I've been coming to Riverside Medical Group Adult Medicine (Nutley) for a little over a year. I've never had to wait longer than ten minutes to be seen. The front desk girls and nurses are amazing. Both Heather and Victoria are super friendly and welcoming. Shawn is one of the most friendliest educated nurses I have ever came across. Very clean office, great staff. I recently moved my daughter and myself to this location and one side is for pediatrics and the other side is for the adult side. They are very friendly and they usually try to get you on, if you really need to at the same day. They helped me so much with my transition. The pediatrician is very good with kids and allows my child to feel comfortable. Dr. Marcus is great with children and I highly recommend you try him. There are some good nurses and good doctors here, but overall, the pediatrician's office is terrible. My 3.5 year old child was vaccinated for chicken pox twice. A straightforward visit with an appointment has taken over two hours of sitting in the small examining room waiting (with two small children - not a treat). Their email communication, which they really push, doesn't work consistently. Technology is not their thing. In addition, I would expect the front desk staff at a pediatrician's office to be more kid friendly and welcoming. They're sometimes squabbling with each other to top it off. It's more like a clinic. The nurses and doctors will not remember your kids like they might elsewhere. Don't be enticed by the late hours that the Secaucus location has. It's not worth it. My children have been patients for 3.5 years and I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. Coming up on a month since I requested a medical record transfer to a new doctor with no communication back from them except one generic email. Go to a pediatrician's office that will remember your family and build a rapport. At the very least, your kid won't get double vaccinated. read more

Last straw was arriving 15min early for a scheduled sick visit; only to have 3 walk-ins (2 who were also concerned they were being called before us) brought in before us.
