The doctors are wonderful but the staff is absolutely horrendous. Zero compassion and understanding. They should not work in healthcare. After some really awful treatment I will never return after being a patient for five years. Being sick sucks. This place made it better. Figuratively, I'll get back to you on literally. I was able to get an appt the morning I called, even as a new patient (you wouldn't believe how many places hung up on me trying to find a doctor). When I arrived the girls were super sweet, and their paperwork was quick and easy. I also appreciated that they didn't ask too many non-relevant questions on their new patient questionaire. One name: Debbie Viola. This is the staff manager in this practice. Her values and how she treats patients seems to be the example the front desk and other staff in the front desk go by. She was rude, turned the words I said to her and hung up on me. She also REFUSED to schedule me and after I said the word refused a couple of times is when she relented to schedule me which didn't happen because she hung up before it can be done. The only reason I come is because of the nurse practitioners who are wonderful in what they do. Unfortunately, this practice is run by staff who are incompetent and rude. The front desk person, Camille would have her days and moments and today was not one of them for her either after she followed Debbie's example. I have been a patient at this practice for about 10 years now and after today I will not be returning. I called last week because I needed a referral and was told I needed to be seen first, annoying but understandable. When I arrived this morning, at my appointment time, I was informed they scheduled me as a new patient and wanted me to fill out forms with updated information. Again, annoying but understandable. It only took me a couple minutes to complete and when I handed them back to the girl up front I was informed that I might not be seen because I had to fill out the forms and did not arrive early to do so. How could I arrive early when I wasn't told they needed me to. A few minutes later I get called back up to the window and was now being told by another girl that I was not going to be seen today because the PCP listed on my card was incorrect. I tried explaining that I already called my insurance company to report they had the wrong doctor listed and they assured me that Dr. Vecchione was updated and listed as my PCP. The girl did not want to hear it and would only go by what the computer had pulled up. I tried explaining the situation again and that I had moved and just drove over an hour to be seen. She did not care and told me it wasn't her problem that I arrived to my appointment unprepared and that when they do their reminder calls it would have told me I should have arrived at least 20 minutes early. I never received my confirmation call and she nastily pulled out the forms and started rattling off my old number to me. I told her that was wrong and I provided my new number when I scheduled my appointment last week. Obviously someone in the office dropped the ball and did not update my chart with the correct number when I provided it. I am so disappointed with how I was treated this morning. I have never been spoken to so rudely and talked down upon like I was this morning. I was so upset that I left the office to collect myself and decided to call and speak to the office manager. I explained the situation and she was just as rude as the girls up front and didn't even care that her staff is treating patients in this manner. I made the decision to stay with this office even after moving so far away because I really liked my doctor, even after one of his medical assistants had injected me with the wrong vaccine a couple years ago but after today I will not be returning to this office and I will be letting everyone how rude the staff is. read more

I like Doctor Vecchione. He is a good doctor and takes the time to talk with his patients and answer questions. However, the office staff is a nightmare. Several times I have had to have blood work. They never call with the results and it is impossible to have them call you back with the results. You leave messages, but they never return them. Also, I go to a cardiologist who requested. They never send the results to the cardiologist. It takes, at a minumum, five calls to get any results. Two weeks ago, I got blood work and still have not received results. And they didn't send it on to the cardiologist. Yet, they had no problem billing my insurance company. The office just doesn't care about the patients. All they care about is money. I will be looking for a new doctor. read more

TLDR: The receptionist called me incompetent and snotty on the phone; poor communication always; the space is dirty and dingy; no patient portal. I honestly wish I could report the women with whom I spoke to a manager or someone. I wish I could give 0 stars. I have been going to this practice for roughly 5 years, and every year I say I will not return, but I continue returning simply because it is convenient. Well, after the phone conversation I just had with them I will NEVER be returning. I made sure to relay the story to my family who also attends, and they will be leaving the practice too. Long story short, the PA that I see at the practice wrote me a non-refillable (per my request) prescription. I lost the slip of paper and called to see if they could send a new prescription to my pharmacy. They told me this could not be done. I understand that this is protocol with certain prescriptions, so fine, but the real problem is that my PA who knows that I live out of the state of NJ did not think to tell me this. She should have communicated to me that if I at any point needed a refill I would have to make a separate appointment. Furthermore, I never even had the initial prescription filled in the first place...I just needed her to rewrite it for me. Ok, so that I could forgive them for, and they could have given me a recommendation for a PCP in my area to make a quick visit to, but no...they decided to act completely unprofessional instead. The receptionist with whom I was speaking told me I was a "snotty little girl" and then proceeded to tell me I was "incompetent for losing my prescription." A patient is distressed because they cannot get their medication, and this is how you handle the situation?!?! To be fair, the incompetent comment was in response to me telling her that the office was incompetent for their lack of communication. I have always had a difficult time conversing with them over the phone, and on top of that they don't even have a patient portal! You have to call to get any of your test results and you cannot keep record of them because they are not electronically provided. Today's standard is to have a patient portal where patients can keep track of their medical records, converse with medical providers for any questions or concerns, and learn more about their health and wellness. I work in the healthcare industry, so I know an incompetent practice when I see one....IMG is incompetent and the staff is rude, rude, rude. The place is also pretty dingy/doesn't feel very clean. UPDATE: I am trying to find an email address to contact them at to report the behavior of their staff, and literally cannot find one. I compare this to my OBGYN's office that has a full service patient portal to contact and a separate email address that can easily be found with a simple google search. read more

Been here twice and Dr. Brignola is my new Primary care doctor Happy with the schedule long process, he is a good listener, doesn't rush and did bloodwork and referrals and RX on the spot. Calls back immediately with results. I'm very very picky with my doctors. So far, I'm happy. read more

If I could give IMG 0 stars I would. I've gone through three different doctors here and two of the three were some of the worst experiences I've ever gone through. Dr. Brignola was the only individual who was of ACTUAL help to me of my times here the past few years. One wouldn't stop telling me to try Mucinex to get through my illness as if I wasn't already doing that. Their assistances have no idea what they're doing. They provided me with an EKG after I was complaining with chest pains. The doctor quickly ran into my room prompting me to rush to the hospital because of "irregularities" found on the report. When I got to St. Barnabas in Livingston, NJ, the ER personnel looked at the report and at me with a weird look on their faces wondering how I'm even standing with those reports. After taking a PROPER EKG, they saw that the report created at IMG was completed wrong due to the pulse monitors not being properly set on my chest -- a rookie mistake. To play it safe, I had to go through several additional visits to a cardiology specialist in West Orange, NJ to go through several tests including a Stress Test only to find out that it was a false alarm -- good job, IMG, really. When I tried giving them one more try today, they informed me that my regular doctor is completely busy today (the waiting room was completely empty when I got there) so I had to settle for the third doctor there: Dr. Kalmar (who happens to be one of the IMG founders? wow. When I got there, this individual gave me a full 3 seconds of his time to see what was wrong and spent the majority of the time going down the generic questions a doctor asks with his back to me only to hand me a piece of paper saying the prescription will be ready for me at CVS, but it's my responsibility to tell them of my allergies even though the only allergy I have is for red dye within my medication -- you know, the one YOU'RE WRITING DOWN FOR ME. My luck, the medication he prescribed did in fact have red dye in it so I had to deal with that situation at my pharmacy. All of this, and I wasn't even informed what was wrong with me........ My final note here, will be to make sure whoever goes to IMG, to have the ability to guess on WHEN you'll be getting sick, because good luck getting an available time slot the day of. read more

I've been going to Dr Brignola now for about 4-5 months now and so does my husband. He is awesome. Spends time with you, listens to your concerns, talks things over with you. He will do referrals right there and scripts too. You never feel rushed. We are very happy with him. Now.....the front desk ladies are another story. RUDE RUDE RUDE. I have never seen them smile, never do they say hello. Today was the worst. I checked in, she asked for my copay and I only had a large bill and she couldn't break it. Asked me to put it on a card. I replied that I didn't want to. So she called the manager up and we had the exact conversation all over again. She asked me to go get change. So I said that after my appointment that I was going to order food across the street and after I paid that I would come back to pay. They gave me attitude. Come on, we've been there many times by now and no problems paying, it was only $12. So I sat down and waited 40 minutes past my appointment time then went back up to pay with a card. The lady put my card in then proceeded to text on her phone and ignored me and my card as it kept saying 'remove card' You have a patient in front of you paying and you want to text instead of tending to my needs? Then I ask how far behind is he running. She snaps and says he isn't running late. My appointment was 10:30 now it is 11:20. I finally get called at 11:30 and when he comes in, he apologizes right away for running behind. Said it's been a crazy morning. Which I really appreciate. As I leave to make my follow up appointment, once again, the next lady doesn't acknowledge me, just picks up the paper reads it and says 2 months? I wish he could open his own practice, the ladies at the front desk needs lessons in customer service read more

i have been a patient of dr brignola here at internet medical group for about 3 years now and the doctor and the nurses have been absolutely amazing! and i would easily give their practice a 5. however, recently their receptionist has been AWFUL. she is always on her phone or eating while patients are being checked in and out and on the phone she literally just says hello not a proper greeting confirming you're talking to their office. and recently i needed something and it complete got lost in the air after requesting it from her. shes is making my love for this practice fall.. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Kalimar's for over 15 years! Omg be Dr. Kalimar, but can't stand coming to the Nutley office for 2 reasons! The first reason is the reception staff is extremely nasty and non professional! The second reason is the wait time. When you have a 430 appointment, you shouldn't be waiting at 520 to be seen! This is the worst I've ever experienced, and am thinking of changing doctors for this reason!!!! read more

The doctors are good but the receptionists are evil, nasty, disrespectful women who could care less about your medical well being. They don't fully understand what a referral means and how it is supposed to be given to the patient before the patient sees the specialist in order to present the said specialist with proper documents. They lack education, respect and privacy. I give them zero stars. It got to the point were Instead of handling my issue accordingly l was given three separate answers. First... they couldn't give me a referral until l had an appointment with specialist That's a lie! Second... it would be electronically generated or l could pick it up personally. I chose the option for them to electronically send to doctor. Third... l get to specialist today there was no referral made and when receptionist called internet medical group they refused to electronically send nor fax. Saying l had to go in person By this point l was livid at the professionalism and lies. I arrived at internet medical group and everything was again handled unprofessional. My parents are also 20 plus years patients I will make it my duty to tell everyone in complete detail what happened to me at this place. They mysteriously got rid of my primary care physician Dr Kalmar, but yet still have his name on all documents without any explanation and now treat his patients like the trash that they are! read more
