I started out years ago with Dr. Rodriquez and when he left I switched over to Dr. Anabel Agcopra. Both doctors were fine. The biggest problem with this place, is trying to reach the office by phone. A few weeks ago I tried to reach the office and my call was always answered by a call center. They took my information and promised me that I would get a call back from the office. This never happened and I left several messages with the call center. This has happened several times in the past also. The funny thing is when you go to office it is filled with girls in the reception area, just talking to each other. I am fed up and will try to find a new doctor within the Optum network. read more

Customer service is beyond terrible. Unless you speak Spanish, I don't recommend this place at all. I got a call with blood work results.. When I asked the rel questions regarding the elevation of my bloodwork all she would respond is "Yes".  I do not believe she understood what I was saying. I find it very unfair to patients to have someone who does not speak fluent English call me to review my blookwork.  She clearly did not understand what I was asking her.  I went to the doctor with concerns about my health.   I then called the office back and requested a copy of my blood work.  Everything is not fine as stated by the rep. I highly recommend that you not have nurses who are incapable of speaking the language fluently call patients and make their own medical assessment.  Based on her assessment I would need no further follow up.  My bloodwork speaks for itself.  Ignoring it would only harm my health even further. 6/7/17: I took my son for a yearly well visit physical. We just moved to Rutherford and wanted to find a new physician. My son's appointment was at 10:45am and we left at 1pm. The waiting was too long. The MD is only at this location 2x a week. He spent no more than 10 min with my son and enters with two assistants that did nothing. I am not coming here again. Worst doctor's office and stay ever. They were supposed to run pre authorization with my insurance before billing and never checked and now don't answer calls or follow up on payment. I will never go back and do not recommend you use them for anything. read more

Try contacting them. either the phone is always busy or the person answering the phone has no idea what's going on. Three times my pharmacy has asked for a pre-authorization from my doctor and there's been no response therefore, the pharmacy cannot fill my prescription. Stay away from this place. The entire Riverside Medical Group just sucks. read more

I have had mixed experiences with this office, Dr, Rodriguez is great as are his nurses but sometimes the staff, can be rude, by not acknowledging or ignoring your presence or just not having customer service experience. However, on my latest visit they were very nice and accommodating and made every effort to fit me in for an appointment and make sure my needs were taken care of. I would say all in all, I would recommend this office but there are also times when it is hit or miss and depends on the day when it comes to the office staff. read more

I wonder if the rest of the Riverside Medical Group locations are as heinously awful as this one. I am a carry over from the previous doc. He had his own issues to be sure, but at least he generally did a decent job of faking an interest in your health. These two don't even bother. (I keep going because it's right by my house, and finding a new doc is such a hassle- but I gotta find the motivation.) It is primarily the APN's practice, the MD only stops in often enough to satisfy legalities. You will NEVER wait LESS than an hour before being seen- often it is closer to two. It's the same whether you have an appointment or not. Always lots of girls in scrubs sitting around shooting the breeze. I have to go frequently with the sole purpose of getting a medication refilled, and they are consistently clueless about 'why I'm there today'. If you have a medical problem, you better hope your problem is visually obvious, or that it shows up with a flashing neon arrow on your labs. Otherwise you're screwed. You will get a 5-10 min visit from the APN, and she will intentionally cut you off if you try to explain the problem or describe a symptom. She will ask questions- then completely ignore your reply. She doesn't write anything down, and if you bring it up at the next visit, she will have no idea what you're talking about. UNLESS... it's something she can give you a referral for!!!! There must be a kick back because her eyes light up. To bad for the referral doc though, anybody she would recommend goes on my 'doctors to be avoided list' read more

I'm a medical assistant/eyetech myself, which means CUSTOMER SERVICE is EVERYTHING to me. I'm one of those that if I give good customer service to others I expect the same back. I came here about a month ago as an EMERGENCY because I had strep throat and a ear infection. The girls at the front gave me the new patient forms right away so that I can be seen asap since they knew I was pain. The girl who work me up in the room was so sweet and kind. I was so nervous because I've never been to a doctor for being sick like this. I was so happy with Dr. Mayra (still getting use to calling by her first name per her) because she made me feel so comfortable. Dr. mayra is super sweet, kind, and very genuine. I already recommended a few people to her. Dr. mayra took the time and kept asking me if anything else hurts. I will deft switch doctors. I can't wait to go back for my Physical in 3 months. None the less at the end of my visit the girls in front were assuring me that if I needed anything else to call them right away. I deft recommend Dr Mayra Chicaiza. read more

I know about being by lingual, I am also by lingual, but I feel that in a Doctors office the staff needs to speak English unless the patient needs help. This has got to be one of the most unprofessional groups I've ever seen. I went to this group in search of a new physician due to my old physician inability to take my insurance. My first visit, I explained my medical history and past prescriptions that I've been on for over 15 years. When it came down to refilling my prescription, I was informed by (not a Doctor) Nurse Practitioner she was not going to refill my prescription due to the change in laws. She also informed me she was in fact a doctor! That was a complete misrepresentation! If this was the Doctors decision not to continue on with a medication I've been taking with optimum results, I should have been told that before changing them over to my primary physician. No one should play God with a patience life especially only a Nurse Practitioner portraying to be a Doctor! After multiple sleep studies and multiple medications taken over the years the results always ended up with the present one I'm taking! When choosing a Doctor really do your research before picking one. Make sure they really listen to your concerns and health issues. It's bad enough our health care has been ruined over the recent years to now having nurses playing doctor! I also had multiple appointments rescheduled by their office to days I was not even informed of. Bottom line "nightmare". read more

The doctor himself is great, Too bad he's only there two days a week because the staff is rude, dismissive and obnoxious. They are too busy joking with each other and talking to give the patients full their full - or ANY attention - and don't seem to care about professionalism. I just called to change an appointment, but the girl who answered the phone was too busy carrying on with whoever was there with her to listen to what I was saying - so I needed to repeat it three times. Then, I asked her for an appointment for a week later and she said "that's a Saturday -we are all booked" - because she was looking at the wrong month. This review is for the pediatrics location only (My experience with the adults side had been superb, but as a result of my experiences don't feel I could trust them either). I live locally, work long hours and was drawn in by the long office hours. Being that I am a single mother it's often difficult to find medical appointments for my 2 kids with after school hours. When you call on the phone, the people are super kind and friendly and give you the impression they genuinely care about your child's health. The pediatricians and nurse practitioners are lovely and knowledgeable. The office staff on the other hand, for the most part, is deplorable, including the office manager. They are often rude, condescending, dismissive, lose records, and seem to have no idea what is going on (there are exceptions to the rules). I've tried to address the issues in the past with the office manager and haven't had any real success. I stopped taking my kids here months ago for this reason and this reason only. read more

I not sure why such negative reviews! I have been going to this office for almost 2 years and I very pleased with the level of care and attention I receive. Yea I might have to wait a little longer than I should but the office staff, nurses and doctor are all professional and treat me with respect. I feel they really care about provided me with the best care possible. You need to remember that when you go there or call, your are not the only person they are taking care off and be patient! read more

We are Rutherford residents and have gone to this Riverside location a number of times. Atrocious staff, but okay doctors (but just okay). Long, LONG waits. Having an appointment time is a joke. I don't think we've ever waited for less than an hour -- with an appointment! Avoid if you can. We're convinced there must be better options nearby! read more
