It is an extremely popular event in the community running from February 28th to March 3rd. The sell advance discount tickets up until February 27th. Rides are by Hildebrand Rides. The day of the carnival unlimited ride wristbandswere were sold for $30. It could get quite expensive especially if you have more than one child. They had a few rides for the small fry set. The other rides were the fast spinning, turn you upside down, and make you want to toss your cookies kind. Not my thing. The event has a wide variety of foods. Sausages, burgers, philly cheese steaks, pizza, and spaghetti are some of the entree items. They also had funnel cake and baked goods for dessert. Food tickets are $1.50 per ticket. Two burgers, a shared fries, and two soft drinks came to $21.00. Alcohol is a big thing here which I always find surprising since it's a church event. There is a full bar serving beer and mixed cocktails. They also offer bottles of alcohol in their spin the wheel booth. Other games of chance include raffles and bingo. The carnival has games as well. Live entertainment is on stage throughout the carnival. Acts are from the country, pop, and rock genres. On the Friday night I attended it was the Jack Flash classic rock band and the Emily Brooke band. Admission to the concerts is free. I used to bring my daughter and her friends to enjoy the rides when she was younger. Now she lives in Orlando and is a Universal pass holder. Now I mainly come to visit my friend who volunteers and to get dinner. The bands were entertaining this year and even though I don't go on the rides it's still fun to see them. The best part of the carnival is running into friends in the community.

And aside from it being fun, it's great to be able to get together with friends, family and the community to support the good folks at the church. They did a really nice job with the festival as usual. There's a carnival part which has a modest selection of rides and games and they also have vendors, folk dancing, a bar and tons of Greek food options, everything from feta topped fries to Souvlaki to saganaki. Desserts too! We tried a bunch of different items and they were all very tasty. The only downside this year was that the festival happened to take place on a weekend where it was absolutely freezing. We hung around for about 3 hours but had to spend most of our time in the tents because it was so windy and chilly. But there was dancing, entertainment and music inside, so we really didn't mind. Overall five stars. I hope they continue to have this cool festival in the future!

The Saint Mark Greek Orthodox Church on Yamato Road in Boca, transforms its grounds into one of the best festivals of all times and welcomes everyone from Thursday - Sunday. Parking at the church is $10 and there's free parking down the street at some of the other church parking lots. I've been going since I moved to Florida 25 years ago and have only missed a few years. Always took our boys and watched them grow from pushing them around in a stroller to riding the rides with them and eventually they drove themselves with their friends and would find us so we could eat together. Now, youngest is in college so I send pictures so he feels likes he's not missing out. The best food ever... it's a delicious eating frenzy...Gyro, Moussaka, Homemade Baklava, just to name a few, and plenty of Greek wine and Beer!! Don't forget to stop by the Saganaki booth to watch the show. The same guys have been working the flaming cheese and Loukaniko booth for years. Its so much fun and usually my first stop. Grab some food and a seat inside the tent and listen to music and watch the dancing. Volunteers from the church work hard all weekend and everyone is so nice. There's even a drive-thru if you just want to pick up food. A must stop is the church itself. it's beautiful and IMO one of the nicest in the world. You can take a tour or just walk in. The inside Sanctuary is magnificent. Until next year... when everyone is Greek for the weekend. OPA!

It's hard to understand how so much money could be spent only to end up with a result that feels this uninspired. For a project associated with Steven G, the outcome is especially disappointing. The previous space felt inviting and had personality. Now it feels sterile, harsh, and strangely unwelcoming -- almost as if the goal was to discourage people from actually enjoying the public areas. A renovation should elevate a space, not strip away everything that made it appealing in the first place. Sad to see.

A private Club that us commoners don't have access to AND 2. It's not even in Boca. Then to top it off, the winner was Santos Buffet....a buffet won people! I mean ZERO disrespect to Santo's, but Is that the BEST place the organizers could get for the BRWFF? I know that part falls partially on the voters, but still....the selection of restaurants and other vendors is pathetic for what you pay. I'll try again when/if Boca learns from other affluent cities exactly how to put on a real wine/food festival.

2025 Geekfest. I went and had a blast. The map showed where everything was and what was included…read more Some of the bad reviews I've read I believe come from disappointed vendors. There were quite a few that were charging way more than their competitors and I'm sure lost sales over it. Also only about a little over half of them brought their A game. Too much 3d printing . Zero creativity. But mixed among them were truely talented artists and creators. We had a great time and will be back next year.

Nice little comic-con... Room for improvement…read more This is the 4th year for Geekfest. They have been in the same location since its inception. Once a year the Grand Palm Room of Florida Atlantic University turns into a haven for Geeks of all manner. If your poison of choice is comics, they got 'em. Into video games? There are some set up to play and tons of game related merchandise to buy. Like Anime? It's everywhere! The admission is $11.00 to get in. Which is great for a con. If you happened to have yourself some BelleChere Bucks (this year's headlining cosplay guest) that price dropped down to $10.00. FAU student? Free. Doesn't get better than that. Your admission band also qualifies you for the all you can eat $7.50 buffet at the FAU dinning hall. The Food selection was incredible. The quality was highly edible. You certainly knew you weren't in a 4 star restaurant, but for college food? It was pretty damn good. Would have made my college cafeteria jealous. The booths and vendors were all very nice and had plenty of product on hand. There were events and raffles and cosplay contests throughout the 3 day fest. Things were very low-key and relaxed. Walking down the halls you could find the likes of Shredder and Blackcat strolling and reclining on chairs lining the hallways. You could see the King and Queen with their Raptor Birds of Prey. They even pulled out the cutest little owls which watched all the action with their giant eyes. If there was one downside to the con it would be the venue itself. I would say that Geekfest might have outgrown the comfy confides of The Grand Palm. The layout is a little disjointed at this point. There are rooms downstairs and more rooms upstairs. Like the roads of Boston, you have to know where you are going... and how to get there. We couldn't find one hall so we missed the Black Butler Drag show and Starlord Dance Off. The upstairs was not really staffed so it was just large college classrooms from end to end. We looked into some of the rooms but didn't find anyone in drag! Part of what makes Geekfest so comfortable and accessible (and cheap!) is the scale of the show. However, in order for it to get to the next level, if that is even the desire, the prompters have to transplant it to a larger more capable location. With that accomplished they would be better able to attract more people and guests. The event would run smoother and they would be able to host and do more. Hopefully this is the small con that can.

This was the inaugural year for the Delray Walls Mural Fest, an art and music festival held in Old…read moreSchool Square in downtown Delray Beach. The event was created in collaboration with Galera Collective, a creative collective and mural artist management group. Friday kicked off the event with a reception and free concert with Gypsy Dust & The Resolvers at the amphitheater. On Saturday and Sunday artists painted on large panels displayed through the park. After the festival the panels will be moved throughout the city. Artists who participated in the mural painting included Ripes (Michael Goodman), Dome, Reds (Yenia Jaramillo), Chnk (Nicholas Mattioli), Arive - working with Space of Mind Students, Code (Cody Parker), Nico (Nicole Holderbaum), Buns (Zoe Genesis), PHD (Paul Hughes), Sarah Huang, Craig McInnis & Renata Rodrigues. The event also included food, drinks, and vendors along with face painting, sand art, bubbles and children's art projects. During the event, the Cornell Art Museum also located in Old School Square had a Delray Walls Artist Showcase inside the museum. The exhibit highlighted regional muralists who began their careers painting canvas, wood or creating sculptures and murals and also showcased all 12 Delray Walls artists gallery work inside the museum's lower level galleries. I love how this event had something for all ages to enjoy. On Sunday when I visited, children were enjoying The Little Merman, a Disney Tribute band. I appreciated that admission to the festival was free. Other than being held during the hottest July on record, I really enjoyed my time at the festival. I hope it becomes a Delray Beach summer tradition.

Argggh! It's always a good time when the pirates and mermaids get together to throw a party. This…read morewas the 8th annual Haunted Pirate Fest and Mermaid Splash. The event is free, just bring your pieces of eight for food and shopping. Free parking can be found in the field on Federal Hwy across from the event. There is nonstop entertainment in the form of singers, magicians, story tellers, and aerialists. You can buy food from the event vendors or at one of the restaurants lining the street. There is an entire pirate encampment where you can learn what life was like when swashbucklers ruled the seas. There is a ton of activities for kids including a pirate ship they play on and bounce houses. While the kiddies are having fun adults can sip on the kind of beverages Jack Sparrow likes. Don't forget the mermaids. You don't think they are real? Well you can find them here in their grotto and have your picture taken with them and watch as they splash in their pool. There is so much going on at this festival that there is some form of entertainment happening every minute. There isn't shade or seats unless you are eating so be prepared for the heat and to walk a lot. I really love this festival. It is like a Renaissance festival but with pirates and mermaids. The costumes people wear to attend are so elaborate and fun to see. There is so much to experience and best all, unlike a lot of the festivals around here, admission is free!

The food area was pretty much all grouped together as was the vendor space was in two distinct areas. It was wild to see so many "characters" walking around in full costume. The weather was scorching but there were plenty of places to get adult and nonadult beverages. I wad also impressed by how safe I felt at the festival. Planty of uniform BB officers as well as safe parking and safe road closures. Uber I by far the best option. The music stages were great too. I cannot wait until next year to return!

It seemed like a unique time so we were in. They had a security at the front gate that cleared us and we found our way to the club. It was a festive crowd when I walked in about 630pm. We found our friends at a back table. They had already tried the happy hour buffet and we joined in. There were bacon wrapped dates, salmon cups, cheeses meats crackers and other hot bites. All were kept stocked and at the right temp. We got some wine off the menu, I got a nice Caymus cabernet. There was other food you could order. We got a flatbread to share that was done just right. Everything was great, including the service. The music was a steady flow of 80's hits that had everyone in a good mood. Hopefully we make it back again, it's one of the best happy hour good-vibes in Boca.
