We saw a few people leave because this one lady saved so many seats. We told the manager then they asked US to move to accommodate someone's else and then made a joke that "yeah you got to sit by people here" no joke lady. Also not a lot of leg room but you could purchase seats on the stage if you buy them early enough and you don't mind being ragged by the comic. They have drinks and it's not required that you have a minimum number. The entertainment was 4.5 stars. I like that they raise money for charity.

My daughter started out in the Thursday program, where they do 12 weeks of rehearsal and then one show at the end. She did that for an entire year and it was amazing to watch her grow. This past year she did the older, more advanced class called Main Stage where she performs for the public every Saturday for 6 weeks. My daughter pretty much lives for these shows. She loves it so much! As a parent, it blows my mind to see what Showtime can do with these kids in such a short period of time. The professionalism and the quality of the shows is amazing. We love all the teachers and the owner Marilyn. Everyone is so supportive and it feels like one big family. This past weekend I saw their Main Stage Performance of In The Heights. This performance was mainly adults, so my daughter did not try out for this show. But omg let me tell you, it was SO good! I am a theater junkie. I see every show that comes to the Broward Center. In fact, I just saw Jersey Boys this past week and there was more talent on the Showtime Stage on Saturday then there was in Jersey Boys! It is truly amazing what Showtime can do with a small stage and pure talent. I felt like we were off Broadway, not sitting in Boca Raton! They have excellent entertainment and you really can't miss with their seating selection. All their seats are great and let me tell you, they are all comfortable, they have tons of leg room plus they have cup holders. Last night we saw an excellent line up of three hilarious comedians- Fred Rubino, Tammy Pescatelli and Mike Marino. Each of them on their own were worth more than the cost of the modest admission. We laughed non-stop for almost 2 hours!! Afterwards the three of them came on stage and allowed the audience to do a Q&A with any of them and even with that, they were unprepared and hilarious! Boca Black Box has A+ entertainment, a huge bar, great, comfortable seating, a large, free parking lot.... I read "World Performance Arts Center" and thought it seemed a bit presumptuous for what I figured would be a small college theater. It is actually "Wold" in honor of the major donors haha, my bad. The theater is not small at 750 seats. The venue still looks new inside and out, and it is almost 20 years old. The lobby is amazingly airy and spacious with a reception area and stunning contemporary chandeliers. The theater itself is modern, with warm woods and bathed in red...red curtains and seats. It is a beautiful performance arrangement with good sightlines and excellent acoustics, with fine sound system (based on the mics the actors wore, I could hear almost every word). No wonder it was selected for the final televised 2012 US Presidential Debate between Obama and Romney. Rest rooms are huge and clean. One minor note is the box office can be slow to purchase tickets and there could be wait. In this day and age, when purchasing with a credit card, why do they need to manually type in billing address, etc.? Update the system so the ticket buyer only has to insert the card and be on their way.
