I have visited this store several times and have always enjoyed browsing their selection. While it…read morecan be uncomfortable to feel watched as you shop, I simply continue with my visit and ask for assistance if needed. The store offers excellent products and is kept very clean. On one occasion, I mentioned that the entrance had an unpleasant odor like body odor it hits you in the face when you open the door the next time, I did come in the smell was not there. Today, I called the store to schedule a Hydrotherapy appointment. I spoke with a gentleman who informed me that Amy's available slots for these appointments are at 1:00-2:00 PM or 2:30 PM. I explained that these times wouldn't work for me and asked if there were other options. He mentioned that Amy might be flexible with her schedule. I then checked my calendar to see if I could accommodate one of the regular times, as he also mentioned there were available slots in August. He then asked what time would work for me, and I replied with 5 PM. He immediately responded, "Blah, I don't think Amy will do that," cutting me off before I could finish. I was about to suggest 5 PM this week or 12:30 PM next Monday if that was possible, but I never got the chance. So, I said, "Um, okay, never mind." He responded, "No, Jessica, what is it? Well, what is it?" I told him I would find another place for the treatment. He said something I couldn't hear, and I ended the call by telling him his response was rude before hanging up. I already felt uncomfortable discussing this appointment with a man, and his rudeness made it even worse. Hydrotherapy involves being partially exposed, with only a blanket covering you, so it's crucial for me to feel comfortable with the staff and the environment. This comfort is essential for a positive experience. I will no longer shop here!

It's a run down barn building, wider than deep, and to the left... cages. With goats, chickens, roosters, a donkey, and a camel. If there were others, they were hiding. The camel was funny, as he/she was very vocal. Trying to compete with the rooster, maybe. The barn store had a lot of canned items, jams, beets, sauces, salsas, random veggies. It housed various souvenirs as well. The young lady there was super nice, a Texas Tech student that was home for the holidays. Very neat place. If you're in this area of nowhere, it's a fun place to stop and stretch the legs, get some actual apples that are grown in the area, and pet the camel.

I was surprised at how many unique animals they have here- water buffalo, goats, turkeys, camel, zebra, capybara, kangaroo, donkeys, alpacas, pigs, emus, ostrich, bunnies, etc. We ending up spending a little less than an hour here. I asked them how business had been and they said they had been blessed during this time. We bought 2 pints of cider (one apple and one cherry for $2 each) and a pound of tart apples for $3. They had honeys and jams, nuts and mini pies. It's about $2 to feed the animals and admission costs are all covered by donation. The climate is a nice dry climate, similar to where the world class Hatch chilies are grown. Some years the Hatch chilies will not be up to par. One year the Hatch chilies were nearly wiped out. This is a great contact to have if you love green chili as much as I do. One couple I know they order several bushels of green chilies and for a solid week they make all kinds of chili dishes. Hobson Gardens have taken and planted a large amount of Hatch green chili seeds and in the fall they get a great crop most years. They used to have a phone number of 1800-Hobsons, another number that you could reach them in the fall is (575) 622-7289. If you're a foodie and love Green chili, next fall give these folks a call. I had picked up some pulled pork from a fantastic local restaurant, "The Rustic" to try out this sauce, on a quick adventure. The pulled pork was wonderful by itself, tried the pulled pork first and then with the sauce. Wow and holy cow, what a great sauce. I'm not much of a bbq sauce person, but this sauce is wonderful. Since then I have tried the sauce on three other items and I'm very impressed by this sauce! What a fantastic Christmas gift was the "Sweet Dragon's Breath" BBQ sauce! How fun, it says it is "hot," but I was ready for more heat. Still you could taste the meat and it was not overpowering Poppa Pokeys currently has three different bbq sauces, and only tasting just the "Sweet Dragon's Breath," I'm very impressed! The owner of this great sauce works for a gas company, but is a big foodie and over the years he has put together a great bbq sauce. If you go to his website you can see that he has placed it in small gas stations all over New Mexico, for when folks go in to refill their gas tanks, you will see the bbq sauce. Luana was selling it at cost and went through the extra trouble or shipping into me, much appreciated! Very happy I could have such a unique souvenir of our Roswell trip. They have rare sodas and a bottle opener right at the front. They also have a lot of odd and unique candy including a wall of cotton candy cryptid "poop" on the left. The kids loved the bad of yeti poop I grabbed for them. They have posters and postcards up front with lore Eddie Macias art. I love local flavors like this and ended up with a full set of postcards, my favorite is the alien Aztec postcard!
