The pulled pork was wonderful by itself, tried the pulled pork first and then with the sauce. Wow and holy cow, what a great sauce. I'm not much of a bbq sauce person, but this sauce is wonderful. Since then I have tried the sauce on three other items and I'm very impressed by this sauce! What a fantastic Christmas gift was the "Sweet Dragon's Breath" BBQ sauce! How fun, it says it is "hot," but I was ready for more heat. Still you could taste the meat and it was not overpowering Poppa Pokeys currently has three different bbq sauces, and only tasting just the "Sweet Dragon's Breath," I'm very impressed! The owner of this great sauce works for a gas company, but is a big foodie and over the years he has put together a great bbq sauce. If you go to his website you can see that he has placed it in small gas stations all over New Mexico, for when folks go in to refill their gas tanks, you will see the bbq sauce. We got a collapsible microwave protector to prevent splattering. I also enjoy making homemade apple pies and found a round pie crust cutter that cuts the design in the top crust in the shape of small apples. I'm telling you it's worth walking through the store. We had arrived just after opening and thankfully grabbed a parking spot right in front. They had a large selection of nuts, salsas, hot sauces, fudge, and more along with lots of tourist type items like key chains, magnets, clothing, and even some alien themed goods. Some of the prices were a little high and others were decent; it is about what you would expect from a high traffic spot like this. In the store you can find a spot where you can sample a variety of pistachio flavors before you try them. It was kind of funny seeing the favorites and the flavors people seem to avoid based on how full/empty the tubes were. They also give samples of the fudge & some flavored dips, plus if you are of age you can sample wine as well. I was really hoping to grab some of their ice cream, but we were a bit too early as the ice cream parlor doesn't open until 10am but the store is open at 9am. We had a schedule to keep on our trip, so we couldn't stay later. We didn't take the tour so I can't comment on that. There are bathrooms inside that were clean when we went in.

SIDE NOTE So everyone on Yelp gets this location and the aforementioned sister shop mixed up. The sister shop is at 37 US-82, Alamogordo, NM 88310 and it has the giant ALAMOGORDO letters out front. This has the cooler giant pistachio. Visit both even if just for the Americana vibes & Instagram-worthy photos. My favorite was picking out yummy treats for friends and family. Samples of many items were available. You can't miss the GIANT pistachio out front. The vineyard is also visible from the highway. For restrooms, there are Porta potties near the back parking lot and flush restrooms inside for disabled persons. The ice cream shop is outside beyond the store. My oldest enjoyed chocolate. I then checked my calendar to see if I could accommodate one of the regular times, as he also mentioned there were available slots in August. He then asked what time would work for me, and I replied with 5 PM. He immediately responded, "Blah, I don't think Amy will do that," cutting me off before I could finish. I was about to suggest 5 PM this week or 12:30 PM next Monday if that was possible, but I never got the chance. So, I said, "Um, okay, never mind." He responded, "No, Jessica, what is it? Well, what is it?" I told him I would find another place for the treatment. He said something I couldn't hear, and I ended the call by telling him his response was rude before hanging up. I already felt uncomfortable discussing this appointment with a man, and his rudeness made it even worse. Hydrotherapy involves being partially exposed, with only a blanket covering you, so it's crucial for me to feel comfortable with the staff and the environment. The spaces weren't super far apart, but we had plenty of room to sit out in our camp chairs and be socially distanced from any other campers without having to wear masks. We had full hookups. The only downside is the highway noise, but all the RV parks in Ruidoso that we saw (and there are A LOT of them) are just off the highway. The fishing lake on site is super cute and if you don't catch anything, you don't pay anything. We caught trout both times we fished. You also don't need any equipment or bait because it's provided. Just show up as you are! There are even apple trees on the property, so we are planning to come back in September or October to taste the apples. Will definitely stay here again.
