Life is so fun! I was just sent a Christmas gift package from one of my childhood friends. Inside was a number of wonderful top notch "foodie" products from New Mexico. We spent time growing up in NM and are fond of foodie items. What a kind gesture, that he sent! One of the items was this BBQ sauce from Poppa Pokey's, the "Sweet Dragon's Breath." I had picked up some pulled pork from a fantastic local restaurant, "The Rustic" to try out this sauce, on a quick adventure. The pulled pork was wonderful by itself, tried the pulled pork first and then with the sauce. Wow and holy cow, what a great sauce. I'm not much of a bbq sauce person, but this sauce is wonderful. Since then I have tried the sauce on three other items and I'm very impressed by this sauce! What a fantastic Christmas gift was the "Sweet Dragon's Breath" BBQ sauce! How fun, it says it is "hot," but I was ready for more heat. Still you could taste the meat and it was not overpowering Poppa Pokeys currently has three different bbq sauces, and only tasting just the "Sweet Dragon's Breath," I'm very impressed! The owner of this great sauce works for a gas company, but is a big foodie and over the years he has put together a great bbq sauce. If you go to his website you can see that he has placed it in small gas stations all over New Mexico, for when folks go in to refill their gas tanks, you will see the bbq sauce. The gas stations that they belong to are from the main company he works. ***Love: I love the fact that when I read the back of the bottle, I can pronounce the all of the ingredients. Second thing, it's is unbelievable on nearly anything that I put it on! Third, he is a small town guy that has followed his heart and has an outstanding product! Good for you sir, to the small town foodie! Go get e'm sir! Hope he can sell it here in Dallas soon! I do believe, that's some big company is going to come along and taste his products and mass-produce it! I would highly recommend this "Sweet Dragon's Breath" bbq sauce!

Hi Veronica!!!…read more Veronica is the front of the store and she is amazing! She/s funny, friendly and so proud of her work. She just started handing us large pieces of beef jerky of all flavors to try and when we asked about the process, she asked if we wanted a tour and just took us right to the back where her sister and another woman was in process of marinating a large tub of thinly sliced beef and putting them on racks for the dehydrator. She even opened the dehydrator to show us what they were making! The flavors are amazing too. The ingredient list is minimal and simple on thinly sliced, chewy beef. My favorites are the mango habanero and black cherry. Fruity yet bovine! Every flavor we tried was good and on point though. You buy them by the pound and she gave us more than what we asked for so generously. We bought 8 different flavors, over 2 lbs! You can buy them online which is a huge plus since we were just passing by Roswell. I'm enjoying the sweet and spicy right now as a matter of fact, wishing we had bought more!

Alien puns aside, we were really impressed at not only the selection but the quality of the baked goods at this little bake shop on th he south side of Roswell. From pan dolce to empanadas, they had everything wr would expect from the best panaderias up in 'Burque or down in El Paso, only Roswell Bakery had an even better price and a surprise we didn't expect. The accompanying pic is of the illusive savory pastry. Here in Roswell, it was a jalapeno and cheese bolillo. Spicy, cheesy, and with a cloud-like crumb, these were heaven straight out of the oven. Even better, they were open early on Sunday morning as we swung through the barely stirring town on our way home. Thank you, Roswell Bakery for giving us one more great excuse to detour through Roswell on our next road trip!

We were walking down the…read moremain Street in Roswell and we had already purchased a couple sodas and candies from a few of the other stores we had shopped at , so since the signs said everything must go we made sure to stop in here as well . Obviously it was a little empty inside and we just didn't find anything that we wanted. This ceiling was cool though, decorated with lights and such. The coolest thing we found here was an original ink drawing of the Eddie Macias mural at invasion station. Luana was selling it at cost and went through the extra trouble or shipping into me, much appreciated! Very happy I could have such a unique souvenir of our Roswell trip. They have rare sodas and a bottle opener right at the front. They also have a lot of odd and unique candy including a wall of cotton candy cryptid "poop" on the left. The kids loved the bad of yeti poop I grabbed for them. They have posters and postcards up front with lore Eddie Macias art. I love local flavors like this and ended up with a full set of postcards, my favorite is the alien Aztec postcard!

I admit that on a road trip, my sweet tooth seems to enlarge in size so to speak. Plenty of on street parking, great natural light, friendly and accommodating staff. The display case was filled with goodies, and I went with coconut cream pie. I think the flying saucers and aliens landed here to come eat this. Absolutely fantastic texture , flavor , and appearance. I I don't think I could justify driving down from Albuquerque on a regular basis, but I must say I thought about it.
