Alien puns aside, we were really impressed at not only the selection but the quality of the baked goods at this little bake shop on th he south side of Roswell. From pan dolce to empanadas, they had everything wr would expect from the best panaderias up in 'Burque or down in El Paso, only Roswell Bakery had an even better price and a surprise we didn't expect. The accompanying pic is of the illusive savory pastry. Here in Roswell, it was a jalapeno and cheese bolillo. Spicy, cheesy, and with a cloud-like crumb, these were heaven straight out of the oven. Even better, they were open early on Sunday morning as we swung through the barely stirring town on our way home. Thank you, Roswell Bakery for giving us one more great excuse to detour through Roswell on our next road trip!

The Zia Latte ($5.90 for a 16 oz) consisted of "cayenne + cinnamon + cloves + cardamom + ginger + nutmeg + honey." It's so heartwarming and delicious. One of my favorite lattes in all of New Mexico! My daughter opted for a hot cocoa ($3.60 for 12 oz) and a house-made blueberry jam muffin ($3.80).
