The donuts are good, the coffee is good also. This place works like a legit mom and pops (honey, just open another milk carton if you don't like cream). We missed out on the coconut donuts because they were next to the peanut donuts, and I have someone with peanut allergies. But... the best thing about this place is the croissant sandwiches. Make sure you order one with your donuts and your coffee. We didn't try the kolaches (sausage wrapped in bread), which this place is known for, and that is OK. read more

Wow what a find in Ruidoso! I'm here most weekends and have never stopped in here. My waistline is grateful but my tastebuds have been missing out. 3 words. Blueberry. Old. Fashioned. My morning coffee just got infinitely better. We went in with the intention of getting a half dozen and came out with 30 donuts. Bebe the owner is a real gem. She sold us in less than 5 seconds. Their specialty looks to be old fashioned in a multitude of flavors; maple, chocolate, glazed. They've got apple fritters, twists, crème filled, kolaches, and more. Apache Donuts was packed when I visited on a Wednesday morning- and I can sure see why. These donuts are absolutely delicious with melt-in-your-mouth flavors. The yeast donuts were soft and so fluffy. The glaze on top of them was really good too. My favorite was the Red Velvet. Y'all must try it. It's amazing. I strongly recommend the donuts. The kolache was super delicious too. However, the place itself could use some work. It was old and dirty. The customer service was mediocre. There were two unnecessary frames of a politician hung up on the wall. read more

Wow. We stopped to bring some donuts back for the o'le folks who watched the dogs for us, but we had to try some for ourselves once we smelled them. The lady told us when we were buying just 1 Kolache to eat it in the parking lot, because we would want another one. Well......we didn't listen, and she was 150% correct. If I wasn't driving back home to Albuquerque, I would have turned that car around and went straight back for another one! It was soooo good! The donut we tried was also extremely fresh and delicious. I first came to this donut shop almost 3 years ago and I was impressed but not so much this visit. The sign in the door says they open at 5am. I got to the donut shop about 6:15 and the doors were locked but the window was open and there was a lady working so I asked her what time they opened and she said 6am. She asked me what I wanted and I told her "donuts", and then she told me there was nothing ready so I drove away. I returned later at 10am and I was able to go inside. She was still really rude and just didn't seem to be at work. Anyways I bought a dozen donuts and they were really good but next time I'm in ruidoso I'm going to daylight donuts instead. read more

Love their glazed and blueberry donuts. Actually best I've had and the blueberry donuts last 3-4 days and still moist. Glazed 48 hrs. But I do not like the kolaches. The sausage is icky but the men in the family did like the jalapeño sausage. The chocolate is a bit bitter like dark chocolate. Not bad. Kid likes it a lot but I'm more a milk chocolate girl. Customer service isn't what you expect. No one greeted any customers upon entering. Waited for about 10 min and still no one. Customers before me apparently started to leave because of wait. Place could use a bit of a clean up as well, especially if dealing with food. I enjoy supporting local businesses but this was unfortunate. read more

By far the best donut holes I've ever had. They are light and fluffy without a ton of glaze like a lot of places do. The best part is the vanilla flavor in the glaze. Only bad thing is that I live in Texas and won't drive 10 hrs for just donuts. I'll be back though. read more

Walked in and got a surly young woman who immediately treated me like dirt. I asked her why she was being so um hmmm (should have said "Bee...um...atchy ".....but said "mean"? Why so mean? Tough review cuz G R E A T Donuts. I will peek in the window first next time lol. I felt bad for her sorta and hoped she was not sad about something or I dunno. Top of her computer was a sticker that said in 3" letters " Bee...AtCh." In better spelling than mine. Hopefully others will have a better experience than I did to bring their rating up. read more

My husband and I were absolutely horrified and disgusted this past weekend when we stopped by Apache Donuts, in Ruidoso, NM. We always stop by Apache Donuts when we are in town but, never again! We walked in to find the owner clipping his sons toe nails!!!! YES CLIPPING HIS TOE NAILS!! They we're both behind the donut cases witch were open on their end. His son looked to be a preteen and his younger daughter was there as well. His wife was serving donuts to other customers that didn't seem to be phased by the disgusting act going on. Who knows where the toenails went flying to or if he even washed his hands before going back to the kitchen to prepare more donuts. We left gagging and about ten minutes later, I called and spoke to a lady who claimed to be the manager/owner to express my disgust! She did not seem to care and just said that she mentioned to the man clipping the toe nails that she thought that's the reason we left. But never apologized, I informed her that I would be notifying the Health/ Environment Department. Again it didn't phase her. PLEASE think twice before you enter this establishment if they clip toe nails in front of customers who knows what is being done behind the scenes. read more
