My boyfriend and I are boba fanatics so when we saw the boba sign in the window, we had to try it. Note: only on the boba, nothing else. Ambiance - Cute cute cute. Nice murals on the walls and large games (Connect 4, Jenga) that you could play while there. The workers were also very friendly. Food - I didn't have very high expectations since this is Ruidoso, and I was surprised that boba was even sold here. Got the taro, but it felt very powdery and thick. This is really a nice place for Ruidoso to have. Especially to have boba is such a secluded city. We we're so excited that we found boba here. This little place is such a treat! We came here for Fathers Day and I feel so silly that we haven't gone sooner! So it's got a serve yourself bar of frozen yogurts/sherbet to make sundaes with. They also do smoothies of fresh fruit, shakes, fried Oreos, and a fun variety of bubble teas. I recommend the taro or horchata bubble teas- so delicious. Worst customer service, but not surprised. As a pair of locals that patron this shop every weekend we were disgusted by the way we were treated today, 13 Aug 2022 @ 1730. Last weekend I shared this spot with another and the young ladies had no qualms providing spoons for the purpose of sampling. Today, I and my girlfriend visited the shop and decided to try different combinations. I tasted my combination from my own bowl, liked it so added more. When we reached the register we were charged $3.00 custom item. I inquired what that charge was and the very rude and unskilled girl replied, "we watched you taste some of the product before buying it" I then responded, "I was making sure I wanted to add more of the same product" she then said, "well we don't allow that" I inquired, "ok well last week the other young lady had no problem with sampling" she then shrugged her shoulders and said, "well I don't know what to tell you, I'm not going to allow it!". My family and I had a great time at Chill Out! My son has severe food allergies and finding a safe place (with knowledgeable staff) can be tricky. I messaged with the owner and we found two sorbets that were safe. The staff was also knowledgeable, sharing the blenders were shared with peanuts. Self serve frozen yogurt, assorted toppings and also cookies, brownies, muffins, etc. The yogurt and toppings were pretty typical froyo, which is good. We enjoyed our yogurt in the chairs out front. Relaxing and fun! The shop was pretty new when we went so she hadn't posted store hours yet. The first time we drove by we thought it was closed. Worth a stop for dessert, or quick treat you can enjoy inside or out. Good location, right next to Starbucks. read more
