I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

The space is modern and beautifully decorated, but still has that cozy, comfortable feeling that makes you want to settle in, order way too much food, and stay awhile. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and, most importantly to me, genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when the people working at a restaurant can actually talk to you about the dishes, ingredients, flavors, and what makes something special. It makes the whole experience feel much more personal. But the FOOD is absolutely the star here. Everything we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just so satisfying. My favorite dish was hands down the chili chicken momos. They had exactly the right amount of heat--spicy enough to give you that little kick, but not so much that it overpowered everything else going on in the dish. The momos themselves were delicious, and the combination of spice, savory flavor, and texture made them something I could honestly order over and over again. I also love that Banjara has some more unique cocktails rather than just the standard drinks you see everywhere. They fit the modern feel of the restaurant really well and make it a fun place to come for dinner, drinks, or both. As someone who genuinely LOVES Indian food and is always excited to explore different dishes and regional flavors, I really enjoyed my experience here. Banjara manages to feel modern without losing the soul and flavor that makes Indian food so special. Great atmosphere, genuinely kind and knowledgeable people, creative drinks, and food that makes you start thinking about what you're ordering next before you've even finished what's in front of you. If you're looking for a cozy, modern Indian restaurant with a little personality and some seriously delicious food, give Banjara a try. And please do yourself a favor and order the chili chicken momos.

While old episodes of "Nick At Night" play on one of the bar screens, as mock "scrambled porn" plays on another. The few tables that line the wall behind the bar are small and cramped. The very small beer menu was nothing special. The two IPAs were out and the ones that were not were warm. Beer should not be warm coming out of the tap. The canned and bottled beers were not too far off. The food looked like some supermarket frozen food section stuff. Over priced, over fried and cold in the middle. The music played overhead is early 2000s emo and punk which is cool. But does not fit with the aesthetic of 90s nostalgia. The staff is unprofessional and some rude. Vaping behind the bar, drinking, and taking their time letting lines build up. They also let way too many people in. It came to the point where it felt like you were on the subway going home during rush hour. Shoulder to shoulder, back to back -- not a good feeling at a dive bar. If you're not gonna listen to Drake and drive to the bar -- the parking lot is a single lane joke. Park down one of the side streets.

We got here and they only had a few appetizers and drinks in their menu. I showed the server the menu online and she asked the manager and they said they don't know but do not have those items. So the menu online the website is false. You won't get a Krabby patty or a good burger or Tommy's fried pickles. Also we came during an event which was nice but why would you have a scream band playing in a 90s theme bar? They played a few songs from the 90s but mostly scream which is not the vibe we were expecting from the bar. It was nice that they played Nickelodeon and Pokemon on the TVs by the bat, but that did not make up for the food or vibe. The food wasn't even all that good. Literally the mozzarella sticks tasted like the frozen ones heated up in the microwave. The buffalo wings had good flavor but the outer shell was cooked to much. Overall it did not have the 90s vibe experience their website made the place out to be.

I admit it, I love the skin! We ordered a bucket of 8 pieces, and chose mac and cheese and cole slaw. We also ordered a side of jalapeno corn bread. There's really no good news here. The chicken was so dry inside, we couldn't eat it and thrw out all 8 pieces. The mac and cheese wasn't terrible, but I've certainly had better. It too was dry, and was basically one big piece of mac and cheese. The cole slaw was..... interesting. It was an odd pinkish color (red cabbage?) with really no sauce that I could find. My hunt for great fried chicken,,,, withnthe damned skin on..... continues.

Alibi is currently running a Harry Potter pop up, and if you know anything about me, you will know I am a HUGE fan. The Alibi was decorated beautifully and there were two really cute Photo Ops by "Platform 9 3/4" and the Wand Shop. Come here for the drinks! The Hufflepuff was bourbon forward and reminded me of an Old Fashioned which further confirmed that is truly my house. It also came with an edible golden snitch. The server pointed it out before I gave them what I thought to be decor. I popped the chocolate golden snitch in my mouth after being directed to take the wrapping off first. We then did butterbeer shots and I can't even begin to tell you how delish they were...dangerously delicious. Food was had and it wasn't anything to write about but I'll try. Queso dip is made in house, which I respect. Loaded potato wontons were a great idea and were probably the best things on the table. You can't go wrong with pretzel nuggets. Chocolate cake is never a bad idea. I ended my visit with a chocolate frog drink. Very similar to an espresso martini. You know how hot they are right now. It came with a an actual chocolate frog which was nice. Finally one of the staff members came over to help us play Bertie Botts and we all picked a jellybean. I got lemon. Some of us got soap and warwax. So fun! It was so good, we are going to try to snag another rez for trivia. Reservations are for 90 minute seatings. You pay $15 for a ticket but you get a souvenir cup with your ticket. Not mad about this because the cup is actually decent and will be used. Their next pop up will be "Slime Time". Slime is not my thing but maybe you'll see me at the other pop ups.

So I had the Reuben egg roll, which disappointed me, as there only being singular. It was served with 1000 Island dressing on the side. It wasn't my favorite. I also ordered the shepherds pie potato skins which was disappointing as well, having absolutely zero flavor. My husband ordered the CPI fried chicken sandwich, which was on a delicious roll but the chicken piece was minuscule for the price. We probably won't be returning.
