I just had them cut down 2 very large dead pines and trim several trees that hung over my roof. Their crew were here promptly on time and did the job in an hour. Cleaned up and hauled everything away. The owner introduced himself and stayed the whole time. Extremely reasonable price for all the work! Highly recommend! read more

If anyone needs any tree work done I can highly recommend Father and Son Tree Service. They just took out a dead tree along with some additional work and were prompt, took care not to damage the lawn, and were done in record time. I'm very happy with the result. read more

Dave and his team are excellent. I have used them last spring for tree removal and this spring for trimming of existing trees. Excellent service, quality work at a great value. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Had a dead tree come down, they came and removed it along with three more dying trees. They showed up quickly and got the work done. They were very detail oriented and cleaned up when done. I will call again when needed. read more

Had a communication error but Joe the owner came and took care of the situation. Joe was a superstar. Personally came out and took care of us. Would highly recommend them! read more

Dave and his crew were a 10/10. Our property looks so much better than when they arrived. They cleaned up all the dead branches lying around without prior discussion. I met with Dave on Sunday and it was clear he is a professional and very knowledgeable. He was not our lowest quote, but I had no doubt he would take care of our property. By Monday morning he had a full crew and trucks ready to tackle our job. Dave is so friendly and my kids just loved him. The Father and Son crew was quick and professional. They were very mindful of our property and finished the job within an hour. read more

Best Tree service downriver. They are efficient, thorough and provide professional customer service.

Father and Son Tree Service (based out of Oxford MI) is the absolute BEST!! They are so conscientious. They work amazingly fast and thorough...and the icing on the cake is the prices they charge. I have used other Tree Services before, now I only use Father and Son. They have done 3 jobs for me and every time perfection! Most definitely Pros!! read more

They were fast, quality and reasonable! Dave is a fun guy to work with too! Recommend for tree trimming, cutting and stump grinding!

Dave was amazing. This is a deeply experienced, sophisticated pro with a long-established company, not "some guy". He brings an army, takes care of business quickly, and follows through. He came to me recommended, and I recommend him and expect to use him again. read more

Best in the business. Friendly, smart , cleanup to a T. I would never go anywhere else. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Excellent, friendly, professional and very quick service. I called Dave the owner on Thursday afternoon, and he gave me a quote. They were out the next morning and cut down 2 large trees, trimmed a large maple tree and birch tree. Dave and his crew of 8 men were done in an hour. They have been in business for over 40 years and are fully licensed & insured. Would highly recommend them. read more

Have used this company once in the past and it was great but not sure what has happened since. Called about 3 weeks ago and Karen came out to look at our fallen branch to remove, gave me a quote and I told her that same day we would move forward with this quote and gave my approval. She said Dave would follow up, never received a call or text from Dave. called Karen back a couple days later as this branch was a hazard and needed someone out ASAP, she said she would speak to Dave and have him contact us. Again no call from Dave and Karen called me back saying they would be on site by end of week(before friday). Here we are 2 weeks later with no call, no show and no returning of calls. We have tried calling Karen, Dave and the main line. Nothing, save your money and go somewhere else, if you can't do the work don't give me a quote and now we have to find another company and hope the branch doesn't fall on our house. read more

They did a great job trimming dead wood out of a large tree group. The work was done quickly, clean-up was very thorough and the price was very reasonable for the work done. I used them several times over the last few years and will call them in the future. read more

Dave showed up at my front door asking us to move our cars because they were trimming some of the neighbor's trees on the property line. While he was out, we asked for a quote to remove some diseased pines we had. He gave a very fair price, provided proof of insurance before his guys started, and was super quick. They did a great job, and even spread mulch across the area they had just trimmed. Seems like a common theme that they come out with a ton of guys, do the work super well and super quick, and treat you like family. read more

After recommendation of friend and positive posting on this site, I hired FATHER & SON TREE SERVICE to remove a tree. I was appreciative of their quick response and removal of the tree. HOWEVER, their equipment left serious stains on my recently power washed 120 ft. driveway. Before vacating the premises, I spoke with Dave regarding it. He indicated the "stains would fade away." Two days later I tried removing the stains with 5 different cleaners including a highly rated driveway cleaner with a power washer. Didn't work! After 2 more conversations with Dave, Father & Son Tree Service's response was to leave a carton of kitty litter and a jug of bleach at this 75 year old's back door. There was no response to my email with before and after pictures. I had to hire someone to clean the most stained section of the driveway, leaving the rest for another time. If you choose to hire this business. do not let them use their equipment on any hard surfaces in your landscape. read more

Called them and they literally showed up to my house in a matter of 2 hours. I got a great quote and some great expert advice. That same day they sent out someone to treat some of my struggling trees (which are now thriving). Two days later a huge crew was sent out to cut down a ton of dead branches and also to take down a extremely large spruce tree. I am amazed by the great service that was provided. I will definitely be a lifetime client and will recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

Same experience as others have shared. Dave totally screwed us around. We scheduled with him to remove a bunch of shrubs and underbrush along our fence line so we could have a new fence installed. The plan was for Dave to work in conjunction with the fence company, and both do the work on the same day to make it easy on everyone. On 3 completely separate occasions, we were given an exact date and time by his company that him and his team would be showing. This was also coordinated with the fence company. On each occasion, Dave and his team were a no call no show. And each of those times the fence company assembled an entire crew and were waiting at our house with myself or my wife (who took the day off work for the appointment), just to have Dave not show and not even give a call to offer an excuse. And for the record these no shows all occurred on beautiful sunny days. Weather was not a factor. Anytime we attempt to call him directly we are unable to get a hold of him. He does not return calls, emails, or texts. When we get a hold of his companies main line they say they are not sure why he never showed, and they will tell him to call us immediately. No one ever does. This has been a monumental waste of time and resources for myself, my wife, and the fence company we are working with. It has cost the fence company money by assembling their team multiple times, and cost my wife and I vacation days from work, just to not even be offered the decency of a return phone call to explain why he never showed. I don't think I have ever had a worse experience with a company. Completely unprofessional. read more

Father & Son Tree Service just completed a project at our house and we were blown away by their professionalism. They not only finished the job quickly, but were extremely thorough in the care shown to our property during the job execution as well as the meticulous cleanup performed afterwards. Would highly recommend them for anyone's personal residence or business - definitely impressed! read more

As someone else commented, finding a reliable tree service is not easy. We've had other tree services not come out to quote, not come out after they've quoted, and/or come out, snip off a few branches and then disappear not to be heard from again. Father and Son came out on a Saturday morning, walked the property, explained what kind of trees we were dealing with, and gave their professional recommendations. The price was in line with market, they showed up on time and when promised, and did more than what they originally quoted to make sure the job was done right. Highly recommended... we'll have them back out for more work this winter. read more

FLAKES! The person who came out to quote a tree removal was at my house same day. (Almost within the hour) Based on the promptness, and the quote being fair, I decided to sign the quote and was told "about 2 weeks". After a few months, with repeated attempts to contact them, I finally just found another company to do the work. I expected at least an attempt to make it right or an apology, but I received neither of those. Glad I didn't give them any money upfront! read more

Used them in June 2020. Unlike other companies, they called back, were prompt, gave detail info of what was included, cleaned up area and came when they said they would. Have them scheduled next month for Oaks and Pine Trees. And yes, more expensive than other companies, but also more RELIABLE, worth it. read more

Over 2 months ago father & son quoted a long overdue tree trimming. i was told they would complete the work within about 10 days. They also conned me into a deep root fertilizer treatment that day that I didn't request or need. I paid $400 for that. No one has ever come back to trim my trees and they don't even return my calls. I recognize there have been some storms, but seriously 2 months when the tech told me that the trees should be trimmed before they got too heavy in the fall. Very dissatisfie. read more

I have worked with Dave for over 12 years and he is dependable and does a thorough job. He's also very good at identifying tree diseases and will not cut down a healthy tree. Great experience every time. read more

Reached out about getting a quote to clear our lot and they had it done the next day-great service!

I ordered a half cord of wood from John and he cashed my check for $150.00 and never delivered the wood after promising several times. He has had my money a long time. I would give them a minus 10 stars. read more

Great company and great job! We had overgrown trees and a dying tree. They were very knowledgeable about trees and telling the types and condition of the trees. He gave a fair estimate and provided service in a timely manner. He was courteous and professional and cleaned up after himself. He even went above and beyond by removing extra stumps. I would highly recommend Father and Son Tree Service! read more

I don't know where to begin. A tree emergency. Came out, got quote, then was promised they would be out in 2 days. Called every day said they'd be out, said they'd call me back neither ever happened. I am beyond furious and have a dangerous tree ready to fall and have to try to find someone else that WILL come out. I see there many reviews where someone got the shaft as well. Grateful I didn't lose any money. read more

Find another tree service company other then Father and Son. We had used Father and Son in the past with no issues until this summer. We were quoted a price by an associate. Dave then came out asked for more money and promised he would do more. Well, they didn't finish the job and left branches in the river. I called Dave with my concerns and he came back out walked the property with me and reviewed what needed to be completed. Two weekends of promises and nothing happened. He wouldn't answer my calls or texts after a period of time. Not a man of his word. read more

I had the same experience as others who commented below. Dave Jenkins totally screwed me around and never came to do my job. He also gave me the "death in the family story". I ended up going with another company. I was pretty disappointed, he seemed like a nice guy. read more

Professional and reliable. Dave was hired by my soon-to-be neighbor and out of respect came to me to let me know they would be working close to my home but not to worry, they would take extra care not to damage my garage from the falling 100 yr old trees that were being removed to build a new home. I had Dave price out some removal of a few of my trees as well. He gave me some good suggestions as to what I should and should not remove. He was kind, considerate and professional. I would definitely have them back again to do tree trimming when needed. read more

Yesterday we had an appointment with Father Son Tree Service to remove several overgrown yews and some dead garden shrubs. This work was important to us because we had scheduled the rest of the weekend for replanting with another crew. Our appointment was at 2pm. I took the afternoon off from work so that I could make sure all the work was done in time for the next stage of the project. One hour after our appointment time, when nobody had showed up, I called our contact at the company, Dave Jenkins, and left a message. No response. At 3:15pm, I called the main company phone number and told them that we had an appointment and that nobody had showed up. The receptionist took my name and number, promising she would call me "right back". She never called me back. My husband and I followed up at 5pm, three hours after our scheduled appointment, and no answer. I understand that schedules can change, things can happen, but we really would have appreciated a return call to let us know what was going on. An explanation and an apology would have been nice. Something similar happened last year when we booked Dave Jenkins at Father Son: He blew off our first appointment, calling us the next day to let us know that they cancel their crews when bad weather is in the forecast. It never rained, and nobody told us that policy, but ok. We are new suburban dwellers and chalked it up to inexperience on our end. So we rescheduled and we were blown off again. We called and called and were told two weeks later that there had been a death in the family. We were sorry to hear the news, understanded completely and allowed Father Son to proceed with our project. That is why we decided to use them again this year. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Potential clients, beware: Father Son will answer phone calls to book new service. But don't expect them to show up on time, if ever! The most disappointing thing is that I had just recommended Father Son to a friend. I told Dave this and he said thank you. I really thought the company respected us as clients. read more

It was a cold call but Brian was so knowledgeable about our trees we said yes to his crew comming to prune our Giant locus and very mature Black Maple. Within 3 hours the guys were up in the trees cutting, sawing carting, grinding and sweeping up the mess. In less than 2 hours they were finnished. They also removed a big pile of old branches from a year ago .Thanks Brian for comming by, the trees look great. I'll recomended this company to everyone I can..oh, great price, better than I've heard of in any of those flyer adds. read more

I had two large maple trees damaged by a severe storm. Several limbs broke, many fell, others dangled from the trees, and there were many large limbs and lots of smaller debris left on the ground. I requested a quote from Father and Son Tree Service on a Monday after the storm and received a visit within a couple of hours. I was told it would take a couple of days before the work would be done due to the amount of work they had because of the storm, the time estimate was volunteered by them, I just wanted to be sure the work would be done by the weekend, 6 days. I called several times during the next two weeks and was told the work would be done the following day. The work was eventually done twelve days later. During that time I rented a chain saw to cut and stacked the debris and hauled what I could to the curb in trash bins. I estimate that I did about 30% of the work that I contracted Father and Son to do. Their clean up, once the work was, done was mediocre. They had to be reminded to replace a large garden ornament which was moved to prevent damage. read more

Avoid this company at all costs!! They quoted fertilization of evergreens and never did the job. They cut down a large pine and left the mess in the yard. They charged for trimming an oak tree and never did the job. They charged up front and then refused to refund the trimming of the oak. Do not even accept a quote from this company. If you hire them you will be scammed out of your money and the work will not be properly done. read more
