    Corn salad
    Garrett R.

Nice new addition to the restaurant scene. Located in the quiet lil town of Santa Margarita, you'll find a hidden gem. A family-owned business that gives you an at-home feeling, and the ambiance of a backyard barbecue. As a first visit, I wanted to try a lil bit of everything. I ordered tri-tip, chicken, pulled pork. mac n chez, and their corn salad. Their tri-tip was cooked ideally, Santa Maria style, and was cooked to perfection. The chicken was served in a Carolina-style mustard sauce, and very tasty. The pulled pork was cooked well, and served in a smokey barbecue sauce. Finally, the mac and chez was a great bit of homestyle deliciousness, that had a variety of cheeses in the mix. Beverages are available, and beers are ice cold from buckets. I have nothing but good to report as they get their feet on the ground and start running.

Location. Outdoor covered patio at J's.

This is an update regarding an establishment my family used to love visiting. As I mentioned…read morebefore, this was our go-to pizza spot--always clean, welcoming, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, after our last few visits, things have changed significantly. While the employees are generally friendly, customer service and management decisions have become a major disappointment. We were told that this location does not honor coupons or discounts, including promotions advertised through Mountain Mike's website and app. Employees stated that the owners operate independently and have a policy against accepting those deals. Despite the high prices, we decided to stay and order a large pizza and wings at full cost. When the pizza arrived, it was disappointing. It was dry, had very little cheese, and the toppings were sparse and unevenly distributed. It certainly wasn't the quality we've come to expect. The wings were an even bigger issue. After we had already eaten about half of our pizza, I had to ask if our wings were ready. That's when we discovered they had been forgotten entirely, despite an employee assuring us when the pizza was delivered that the wings would be out shortly, after an hour... they never came out and we cancelled the order. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the direction this location has taken. Between refusing advertised discounts, charging premium prices, serving subpar food, and lacking attention to customer service, it's hard to justify returning. Customer service is a skill that needs to be valued and taught. If discounts and specials are advertised, they should be honored. These promotions are meant to help customers, especially during times when prices continue to rise. For now, I'll be taking my business elsewhere until I start hearing more positive reviews. Just a heads-up from a longtime pizza lover of Mountain Mike's.

This location though, good pizza, good salad bar, tons of space, solid arcade/games, great staff. Pizza was a little greasier than I like but it was still very good (we ate two larges with a little help from another teenage boy who snapped the pic). Pepperoni was perfectly crispy, crust was cooked well also. Little too much sauce for my liking and I ordered it with light sauce. Definitely go light if you're not a big sauce person. Salad bar had plenty of good options as well and my wife and I split a salad. Kids played a bit and we hung out and watched a couple of games on TV. They even changed the channel to another show for a customer who wanted to watch something else, pretty cool for them to do that and not interrupt what anyone else was watching. Definitely a sold choice in Atascadero!

Several places were closed for the day already and I saw this little corner place that still had the Open sign on. Burgers? Sure, why not, that should fill me up and it sure did! I ordered the regular Old Fashioned (no cheese), side of fries and a drink. Everyone was very friendly and helpful as I've never been to this place to eat before let alone this part of the state! The burger was perfectly cooked at medium and very juicy and delicious! Fried were good, not great but the burger was the star of the meal anyway. But I will say the fries were good once I dipped them in the dripping juices and sauce from the burger. But it was a very hearty burger and after a long drive, really hit the spot! If I'm ever in this area again or see another Sylvester's I will definitely make it a point to visit and try a different burger. Favorite dish: Old Fashioned with no cheese. Go out and EAT!

It's super family friendly, and our son loves the toddler play area. Our nieces also love the arcade games, so it's a great spot for kids and families. The beer is the best we've had in Atascadero, especially the west coast-style pale ales and IPAs like Atasca-where-o, Afraid of the Grade, Mouse Rock, and Hop Clarity. The staff has always been great, the indoor/outdoor space is awesome for groups, and having a full kitchen makes it even better. We even hosted a small lead-in gathering there the night before our son's 1st birthday party, and it was perfect. We're excited to keep coming back and becoming regulars.

This makes total sense knowing that the owners came from San Diego and both worked for PPBC. Being familiar with Wild Fields award-winning brews we settled for the flight and then added some food later. Being a West Coast IPA couple, we were not disappointed with their draft offerings. In addition to IPAs, they have a good representaion of other styles, so there will be something for everyone-as long as they like beer. Wild Fields also puts together a home-brew competion, fuly embracing their community and craft beer roots. The winner gets to brew a batch of their recipe on the house system and this ultra low alcohol, smoked wheat beer was one of the most unique beers I've had. For the food, we had pulled pork and loaded mac-n-cheese. Pulled pork was fine, but I'd prefer more smoke flavor and aroma. For loaded mac, the protein is polish sausage-not something I've seen before. While it somewhat works, I don't think I'd order this again. They also had a ticketed comedy show, which we stayed for after the official closing time on a Saturday. It was fun and totally worth it. With their strong local connections and family atmosphere, Wild Fields in Atascadero is worth the detour from SLO and Paso destinations, especially for families.

We were seated at a small booth, perfect. Drink orders taken now we needed to decide what to eat. M went with a light breakfast offering a pancake, a scrambled egg and bacon. Hum it was dinner time dear, I needed more time. The fish & chips were the special and it was Good Friday but I went big with the hot pastrami sandwich. Fries are extra so I ordered the onion rings to accompany the sammie. Pretty quick the food was out of the kitchen and on the table in front of us, wow M dove right into that 7" pancake as soon as she finished pouring on the syrup. My sandwich was a hood size on a very soft french roll a good six inches Very tasty but I always think there should be more meat than bread, there was alot of bread in that roll. Where's the beef, right... Onion rings, nothing special your average frozen beer battered Moores onion ring served late but freshly hot. We had a good meal, good service and a fair price. I've been wanting to get back there again for dinner...Cash or Check NO credit cards but since I knew that I figured $80 bucks would cover my dinner and the tip, and it did. I was Sat immediately, we were earlyish and I took a deuce along the wall. I ordered soda water and with that a nice selection of fresh bread was brought to my table, with a pound of whipped butter...yummy. After musing the menu, two starters and a salad, caesar and the special, an expensive protein....I ordered a caesar salad and the pasta with a grass fed high end ground beef meatball with a lite marinara sauce. The caesar had two filets of white anchovy. The salad was basically a third of a trimmed Romaine stalk with caesar dressing and shaved parmesan with the anchovy. It was my job to cut the lettuce into bite size pieces and blend in the dressing, based on the price I thought the work was done. Then the hyped pasta special arrived, the meatball was nearly the size of a tennis ball. Wow, Okay, Rigatoni graced the edges. I had to cut the meatball into bite size pieces...what's with this having to cut everything meal tonight...I was not impressed! Well the prized beef ball was tasteless, in fact it was a tho a kid made a large hamburger ball and baked it for an hour in the oven Tough, not juicy, no flavor, note to self - no more specials at the range. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. Delicious it was a Fresh berries cobbler without the cobble, friggin delicious....and that's how I left the range tonight.
