Fatback's, we cook our barbecue My son and I have been on a Dayton Area BBQ search, and we have dined at more than several Greater Dayton Metropolitan BBQ's with pleasure. We have chosen Not to rank order, and our number one favorite is Zinks Meats & Fine Wines in Centerville Ohio; Like the small intimate dining area, the entertainment, the clients and the BBQ. Today is time to explore and sample Fatback's BBQ. "...we cook our barbecue low and slow on fresh-seasoned hickory wood to bring out the natural flavors of our cuts of meat." Fatback's BBQ is not to be confused with fine dining.... Best to expect only basic ambience with a few tables and lots and lots of takeaway. Service is excellent. Reviews vary; "Excellent food, friendly, fast service. Potatoes were awesome!" "All they do throw some on grill cook it as fast can then slather in sauce the way Kroger does I was foolish to listen to idiot who knew was a idiot...." Caveat: always read reviews and check photos for ambience. Fatback's BBQ offers an "interesting" picnic ambience; not for my dear wife. We both ordered ribs in a ton of BBQ sauce. Very meaty, messy, and tasty. Lots and lots of BBQ pictures. This is great BBQ for Greater Dayton Metropolitan BBQ's and somewhat pricey. Rates number 2 in our book.

Stopped in for date night dinner. I had a sliced brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and their roasted potatoes. My boyfriend had pulled pork with roasted potatoes. The real star was their warm and sweet sauce. A beautiful balance of sweetness, vinegar, and heat. They were so friendly!! You can tell they are proud of their product too. We got there 15 min before they were closing and were kind enough to let us dine in. Very clean dining room and kitchen. Lots of space to dine on the patio in front and another in back. Will definitely return!

The food was great. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and green beans as my sides. The service was so good I called the restaurant after I left to thank them for the recommendation. I ordered the food to go and started to eat in the parking lot. It was so good I could barely get out of the parking lot. I will be back soon.

Without a doubt the best beef brisket I have ever had, and I am from the South. Bob will go far with his business, and rightly so.

I didn't order them and it was good for the kiddos. That is caring how kids feel, that is Superior service. I love the atmosphere. It's very pro veteran and pro-American and it feels like a place where they love the things I love. They have excellent barbecue brisket barbecue pork. I love their sides. The corn is good. My sweetie says she is enjoying the biscuit and the green beans are like melting your mouth. She says she is really enjoying those. She's sampling the sauces as she works away through it. She likes the South Carolina one best so far cause she's a fan of the mustard. They have good options for the kiddos with mac & cheese or other kiddos centric sandwiches. They have small slider sandwiches for the kiddos. My oldest says this: the mac & cheese is not box mix. It is made in house. The pulled pork sandwich is very tasty. I'd like the smoky flavor. The waitress also brought out some Cajun corn samples, I'm not a very spice loving person. Corn was good, but I didn't finish it. All in all the food was tasty. My second oldest says: I got mac & cheese and it's really good. It is not box mix actually it's made of real cheese and I also got the turkey sandwich which is really tasty. It's not overcooked and it's not undercooked. It's like perfect and there's none of those disgusting micro plastic filled cheese in it, which is really nice. My mom gave me a bit of her cornbread and it's really sweet and also a bit savory too, which is like the perfect combination and it's it's pretty good. Grandma says the food is very good. She likes the seasonings on it. She got collard greens with it and says they are excellent. Personally, I'm pretty jealous because although I enjoyed the Cajun corn, I didn't know they had collard greens.

She was warm, energetic, and courteous. I had never tried their burger before, and I ordered the mac & cheese which I normally love, and a side salad to go with it. The burger was slightly under seasoned, but it was thick and juicy, and overall pretty good. The mac wasn't bad, it just didn't quite taste the same, but the salad was crisp and fresh. Decent experience at this location.

The noodles are actually made in-house and have a lovely texture. I got the Classic Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup and was definitely not disappointed. The broth is light, but full of flavor at the same time. It is truly very comforting on a cold winter night. I think the beef slices on there are a bit tough, but it's not too big of an issue. The portion sizes are actually crazy. I got the regular size and could finish maybe just half to 2/3 of the noodles, along with a majority of the beef. I can't imagine how massive the large bowl would be... For health, I also ordered some stir-fried bok choy. This was stir fried well, but I'm not really sure what the flavor profile was supposed to be. Is it garlic? Is it spicy? I couldn't really place it. The prices are very fair for the quality of food they provide, and service throughout the night was decent. I will probably be back again, if I visit Dayton! Although the parking lot was full the line was amazingly quick. I wasn't sure what to get for the family packs, I just told the guys in back to make it awesome. It's really nice that they had some tables that could seat us all. It's a fun little down-home environment. My wife says: The beef brisket, pulled chicken, and potato salad are delicious. I found the scalloped potatoes a little bit salty. My oldest daughter says: all the meats were amazing. I really enjoyed the scalloped potatoes. The cornbread was delicious.
