Said was amazing- he gave me a quick rundown on the phone of what I was talking about, scheduled me for like a day later, had me in and out with no fuss. The inspection showed that I needed to get my brakes replaced. Nervous laughter- he showed me how I'd actually been driving on my rotors for some time, apparently, so he was being completely honest. I needed to bring it back in afterward for a final inspection, which he took care of in about 30 minutes. Again, Said was super knowledgeable about the process, that the paperwork would go right. to the DMV It did- I got my registration!), the order for the other steps I needed to take, etc. All of that would have had me as a super happy customer. Some extra nice things were that he made sure both times that I knew how long I'd be there (the first inspection was like 3 hours) so I had a ride home. The second inspection he did a little extra quickly because he knew I was just going to wait there. It just seemed like really caring customer service. Weirdly (positive) the first time i walked up there was a guy out front who turned out to be a happy customer (I'm assuming a regular). He would not stop telling me every time I walked by what a great guy Said is, how he's the best, I was in good hands, etc. It was strange but eventually endearing and for sure true. I guess I'd be him, too, because I've told everyone about Bay Area Smog. I'd recommend Said to anyone. He was professional, knowledgeable, and honestly just so nice.

Prices of smog checks in general have definitely gone up since around 2012. A smog check back in…read morethose days only cost around forty dollars whereas now after coupons at most places cost around sixty. The price has surged even more so than restaurant food prices over the years, and I'm not sure what justifies this as labor has increased across the board in all industries. Nevertheless, came to Green Star as I had come here before a few years back and they had been fast and efficient. This is still the case. After the coupon, the test came out to be around sixty dollars. The technician was fast and was done in approximately 20 minutes. Prices here appear reasonable after the coupon. California law requires smog check centers to post their prices in a conspicuous manner for the public to view, but it's difficult reviewing prices and comparing between centers when most centers have no pictures of their prices on yelp.
