When we walked in to the store we were thrown off by how empty the store was. Their beer cooler was almost empty and they had destroyed cans all over the cooler. The bottom of the cooler looked like a beer can graveyard. The store shelves were also empty, and they didn't have much except for some bread and butter. The only thing that was well stocked was their scratch ticket section as well as cigarettes. Their other well stocked shelf was their hair extension section that was covered in dust. In the end this little sketchy store would have been better if the coolers were full and clean.

I had not been to this store in a few years, so it has been remodeled to be more of a cafe and gas station. In after waiting for a minute I walked over to where I saw the two ladies standing (who names are Pam and Carpe). O had to address them because one was making sandwiches and Pam was looking at papers which was right next to the food and drinking a juice. I finally said Good morning and then Pam said yes, I than asked her where are the prices and menu for the smoothies? She pointed over to the side of the counter. I then reviewed it and said let me get a tea. I look up there were people standing in line which no one said anything to them. Carpe then said Pan can you get them as she was putting food on the shelf. Pam then walk up to the register never acknowledging the fact that they had been waiting in line with no acknowledgment or no apology. I then just shook my head because the fact that you go to a store and the service workers customer service is poor was surprising. I won't be coming here again. STORE #246.

There were a few regular tables along the perimeter among the high top tables but I chose to sit at the bar. The other patrons were very friendly and included me in their conversation. The beer was crisp and cold. The food came out rather quickly. The nachos were topped with beer cheese, fresh pico de gallo, sour cream, and scallions. There was a very generous amount of sour cream so I didn't have to worry about just eating chips. The bartender kept everyone served and knew what the regulars drank. She checked on me regularly. My only disappointment is that as summer comes to an end I will have to wait until next year to attend the events they have at the brewery.

When I arrived I was shocked this was the Florentines everyone spoke so highly about. It's a very old small bakery in the heart of Utica. Walking in there were little to no pastries. I wanted to buy some but then again I am glad that I didn't have to indulge in too many sweets. The end result - the cake was worth the drive. It was amazing! Extremely moist and tons of flavor. The kiddos did not like it bc it wasn't sweet enough for them but perfect for us adults.
