Upon arrival you will notice a clean and well kept parking lot (without carts everywhere). When you enter the store you are instantly in the large produce section. It is split into organic and non organic items. The produce quality is good and some of it is locally sourced. Next you will walk through the bakery where many of their items are housemade, or again, locally sourced. You can find tomato pie as well as Hemstroughts half moons. My favorite is their pistachio muffins. Get there early because they run out quick! The deli and cheese sections are fairly run of the mill. They have some natural or organic items but not a lot. The dairy, beer, and frozen sections are ok. Overall the store is clean, well organized, and rarely will you find something that is expired. My parents have had really good luck with the pharmacy here too.

Despite limited staffing at the front, they kept everything moving smoothly and stayed calm the whole time. The new inside is fairly nice and clean. This is a very busy location at all times of day. During the pandemic, I was surprised to find the location wasn't doing that great at being careful! Infact the cashier was down right rude when I asked her not to switch out my cart at checkout. My local locations had been one of the few places I felt safe! Perhaps it was just a few rogue workers on this day. My mom and I had fun picking up some ingredients for shrimp and grits, and some fun cheeses. I was trying to convince her to come here more often! Make sure to bring a quarter for the cart and reusable bags, as they don't provide any. I personally prefer to unload my cart at the car now, into my travel bags to reduce contamination. That was the lowest pumpkin price I have ever seen. I came to get a mousse cake but they only had 1 left of one flavor. The other Aldis I went to had 3 flavors and had a lot more in stock. I got shredded gruyere cheese here and have never seen shredded cheese in this variety before. Usually shredded cheese exists for mozzarella, cheddar, Mexican blend and few others only. You don't get bags here so make sure to bring your own shopping bags. Something unique to this market chain is that the cashiers here sit on chairs.

Price Chopper and Tops' merger forced the latter to sell ten in the state to C&S which revived GU. It was only the second one this year I've gone to after Cortland. It's new to the young people, but older folks will remember. Not quite the Grand Union my late grandma went to in Albany County, but like the old days, having it out of reach only makes me want to go back. Now if they could just replace closed Tops's in Syracuse on the south side and Westvale as well as Ithaca on S Meadow Dr and Great American in Star Lake.
