Picked up a large order of Wonton Soup. I noticed a sign telling customers Cash Only for purchases less than $10. That is illegal. Call any credit card company and they will tell you it's part of the contractual agreement with the vendor that there be no minimum! Shameful! I ordered Fast Wok during a weekend in Clarksville. It was a decent Chinese takeout and served it purpose. I can't say that I would be looking to order again. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and chicken wings. You could tell the noodles weren't fresh and the chicken wings seemed as if they were fried, left on the side and then fried again when my order was placed. It was too crunchy. My cousin had the shrimp lo mein and steamed dumplings. The dumplings were big, but not very flavorful. He said he enjoyed the lo mein. He even ate leftovers the next day. This place is a solid four star. They have great service and great food for a great price. The food is made right in front of you and is made in a timely manner. The store itself is more of a carryout style. They do offer one large table, but it's definitely not a sit down restaurant. If you spend 50$ or more use the coupon on their menu. This coupon can be found on the front cover of their menu. If you spend 50$ you get two free egg rolls. And their egg rolls are made in front of you. If you spend $75 you get a free fried rice dish. As far as the food, it is clearly loaded with msg, but hey it tastes pretty good. Their Lo main is a bit on the salty end, so you can either ask them to make it less salty or get a side of plain white rice. The kung pao had a variety of chicken pieces from an inch to about the size of a grain of rice. Looked like left over chicken pieces to me....but it tasted ok. The peanuts were done correctly, quickly browned and crunchy ....placed over the top of the dish, not mixed in to get soggy. The broccoli beef was good nothing special. The egg roll and spring roll were predictable for a chinese restaurant. These are sold frozen and seems like every chinese place in Wash DC/Baltimore get it from the same distributor. Overall, this is 4 stars for out in the middle of nowhere in Maryland and being a very good value for the price....3 stars if it was in Los Angeles. The prices are very very reasonable. $4.95 for lunch (one entree and rice) with egg roll. An egg roll in Wash DC by itself costs that. A good place to get Chinese food if you have a hankering for some and are in the area. But not worth going out of your way or a drive over 10 miles. read more

Just got some Fast Wok with my friend who is a Chinese food aficionado. Unfortunately, we were both quite disappointed. Probably would be a 1.5 star rating if halves were allowed (but as they are not, Fast Wok needs to be knocked down a peg). First, the hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Usually with takeout Chinese, the hot and sour is either very spicy or mouth-puckering. Fast Wok's soup was little more than broth with mushrooms. I think I counted a few red pepper flakes too. Second, the chicken fried rice was flavorless and burnt. I am not sure how the chef allowed the rice to be overcooked, but its color was a shade away from charcoal. No amount of soy sauce could save it. Third, the orange chicken was chewy, and "did not really taste that much like orange chicken" according to my friend. Flavor was too recognizably artificial. Ironically, the broccoli was the only thing from Fast Wok that was decent. In all, though Fast Wok is indeed quite speedy (food ready 15 minutes after placing the order), there is cheaper, more delicious Chinese food in Harpers Choice and other locations throughout Columbia. read more

OMG. Please do not waste your money, gas and time on this place. Everything is BLAND. I ordered "spring rolls" and they served a very sad excuse of an egg roll - tough, flavorless. Also ordered Kung Pao Chicken - ZERO FLAVOR. ZERO SPICY FLAVORINGS. It had 3 ingredients: tasteless chicken and lots and lots and LOTS AND LOTS of CELERY. If you don't like CELERY IN LARGE QUANTITY, DO NOT GO HERE. The third ingredient was some flavorless brown sauce. Oh yes - it did have peanuts. The other dish I ordered was Shrimp with Lobster sauce. I've been eating that dish since I was 6 years old, and this hands down was the WORST WORST WORST I've ever seen, and I've ordered it from Coast to Coast. Some sick looking sauce with 6 shrimp. Again - zero flavor. I took a few bites of each but it went into the garbage pronto. NEVER AGAIN! All I got out of this expensive experience are a couple of food containers to reuse. I have gone to Fast Wok many times over many years. Their egg rolls were always some of the best around. Sadly my experience today was not so great. I ordered on the phone and they said 15 minutes. 15 turned into 45 minutes. I know you get busy so that didn't bother me. What did was the quality of food this time. I ordered hunan chicken with fried rice, chicken fried rice and egg rolls. When I got home I looked forward to some great food again from Fast Wok. What I got this time was very burned chicken fried rice (I have never had burned rice before) a meal with no flavor. Even the egg rolls were as bland as bland can be. I won't give up on them as this is my only bad experience so I hope this gets back to the owners so they know my concerns. read more
