Curt arrives next day to do the ROUTINE toilet flange replacement. Curt completes the job in 45 minuets. Great. I meet Curt at his truck to pay, I have $20 in my hand for a tip. Curt hands me a bill for $780. Curt labeled the flange replacement a "custom job." It was not custom by any definition. I don't know if I was charged for the day before when Tanner could not do the work. The bill stated "custom job $780.00 plus tax. No breakdown for parts and labor. Parts were 1 pvc toilet flange, 1 pvc 3 inch 90, 1 3 inch pvc union and approximately 2 feet of 3 inch pvc pipe. I will guess on the heavy side for parts at $75. So labor was $705 for the 45 minuets of work. Neurosurgeons in Washington state average $378 an hour. I called Curt the next day. Not much to be said about the bill. Get the estimate, get the second opinion! I'm an idiot. I kept the $20. They arrived with 3 minutes left in the scheduled 2 hour repair window. And the worst part is that they truly do not care how their incompetence impacts and inconveniences their customers and their customers' neighbors. I have read some of the negative comments about this company, and am amazed at how the same, obviously thin-skinned, guy who chastises his own customers for not picking up the phone, reaching out and trying to resolve situations chose not to even try to call, reach out or try to resolve this situation. Hypocrisy much? Anyway, Danika plumbing had been recommended by an HOA member and I had previously used the company for a plumbing issue in 2019, with which I had been satisfied, so I decided to reach out to them for a current plumbing issue in my condo in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Travis, who was punctual and professional, was the first technician to be dispatched. He diagnosed the issue, but since I live in a condo building, notice of a water shut-off would need to be sent to all residents prior to the repair. He had mentioned the difficulty of finding parking in the area, so the company was well aware of the average drive time and time to find parking. The next day, Thursday, I called to schedule the repair for Thursday of the following week, which gave them plenty of time to schedule their resources and for me to coordinate with the HOA to send a notice of water shut off to the other residents in the building. I was advised that the repair appointment would be from 10.00am to 12.00pm, at which time I advised that there was no full-time building maintenance/manager and that the technician would need to shut the water off and drain the building (a process that would take approximately 20 minutes.) At 9.38am on the day of the appointment I received a text that the technician was on the way to my address for the 10am appointment. At 10.30am, when nobody had arrived or called with an update, I decided to call to ask why nobody had arrived yet. They seemed surprised or unaware but said they would reach out to the technician. At 10.42am I received a call from the technician, saying that he had to stop at Home Depot for a tool, that the traffic was bad and that he was still about 40 to 50 minutes out. The average drive time from Everett to Seattle is 40 to 50 minutes!!! One hour after being 'dispatched' he clearly had not even left, or had only just left, Everett. He said that he would be there at 11.30am, but assured me he could get the water drained and the repair completed in time to get the water back on by 12.00pm. He said it would save time if I would be willing to turn the water off and drain the building. Since I am neither qualified nor insured to do so, I declined. At 11.57am, with 3 minutes left in the 2 hour repair window, 3 minutes to when the water needed to be back on for the other residents and a full 2 hours and 19 minutes after Danika said he was dispatched, I received a call to let me know he had arrived at the property. He apologized and made numerous excuses about traffic, difficulty finding parking and having to get a tool at home depot (all of which, any company with a modicum of understanding of good customer service, let alone common sense, would have built into their scheduling beforehand) but had difficulty explaining why, even considering those factors, how it could have taken 2 hours and 19 minutes from time of dispatch to arrive at his job site. He told me to reach out to the office to reschedule, seemingly unbothered that I had taken time off from work for this appointment and that my neighbors had gone without using water for 2 hours for no reason at all, or that we would have to do it all over again for a second time. I advised him that the text saying that he was dispatched at 9.38am and on his way to my address was clearly untrue and dishonest, that it was an awful way to treat customers, and that I was not sure that I was either comfortable or confident in rescheduling with a company that had such low regard for its customers. Nonetheless, he said he would talk to his manager and have them reach out. Nobody from Danika ever reached out for the rest of the day. This morning at 11.15am, with no attempt being made to salvage the situation, or at the very least an apology, I called and requested that they reimburse the payment I had made for the repair that was never done. At that time I was told that accounting, the previous evening, had noted that they had issued a refund check. It is unbelievable that this company, obviously aware of the issues and inconvenience it had caused myself and my neighbors, made a conscious decision that they did not even need to reach out and apologize. Do better!!! Honesty is a good place to start!!! 2 hours 19 minutes to get from Everett to Seattle. On a bicycle maybe!

After the visit, I requested a basic written summary of what was inspected, what was observed, and what was recommended. The company refused to provide any written findings, technician notes, estimate, or service summary. The receptionist Kaitlyn said they would not provide a letter because they would then have to "back up" what the electrician said. She told me to submit my own audio recordings, video recordings, and text messages instead. She also refused to transfer me to the electrician, the owner. During the conversation, she was openly hostile, dismissive, and used profanity, including words such as "fuck" and "bitch." I also experienced her tone and comments as racist and discriminatory toward me as an Indian woman. I repeatedly explained that I was not asking the company to make up or certify an unsupported diagnosis. I was asking for a factual record of the visit: what the electrician checked, what he observed, what he told me, and whether further testing was needed. Instead of addressing the request professionally, the receptionist told me, in substance, that I could do whatever I wanted and that the company would not provide anything in writing. This raises a serious question: why send a licensed electrician, provide verbal opinions and recommendations, and then refuse to document the visit or allow the customer to speak with the technician or owner? The combination of refusing basic service documentation, blocking access to management, using profanity, and making me feel racially targeted was completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise customers to confirm in writing before hiring this company whether they will provide technician notes, findings, recommendations, estimates, and a professional escalation path if there is a dispute.

She then said she would text the info over to the tech "right away." I knew the tech couldn't be sitting around waiting to drive to my house, so I asked if I should expect a call back tomorrow, today, or later in the week. I'm having this entire conversation with my work persona, very laid back and curious, no pressure, but she bristled HARD at this question. Huh? "Well! Huh! Um, I said right away. He'll get it right away." What? I'm curious how busy he is and when he can fix my sink...I am in no way questioning your ability to send him a text. I'm sure he's busy. "Right away" is the same as 30 minutes or more if he's on a job, so I am good. We hung up with no ETA for a call or an appointment. That was 3 full business days ago and no sign of them yet. I'd go one star but they did come recommended by someone I trust completely. Overall, though, I'd look elsewhere for plumbing help.

Unlike some other plumbers that I'd consulted on Yelp who couldn't give me an estimate on the cost of parts and labor unless they showed up in person (and charge an appearance fee), he gave me a reasonable quote right away AND was available within a few days to do the work. On the day of service, he texted me and let me know they could come a few hours early, which was amazing! He and his colleague got to work right away and showed us how they troubleshooted the issue, so that we had confirmation that both the cartridge and the mixing valves were indeed broken and needed replacement. I had researched and purchased a faucet myself in advance for the replacement. Though it was from a well-known brand and had great reviews, the model I bought turned out to have plastic parts on the inside. Shamim showed us this and compared it to our current faucet (which had metal parts) and explained the differences and concerns for durability. So we ultimately went with the faucet that Shamim brought, which was also a great brand but definitely more sturdy since the inside parts were made of metal. Not only did Shamim and his colleague do efficient and good-quality work, they took time to show us what the problems were and why they recommended specific fixes. As new homeowners, we really appreciated how transparent Shamim was with his recommendations and that he took extra time to share his knowledge with us. And a bonus: as a no-shoes-inside household, I really appreciated that they automatically removed their shoes when they came in without being asked! We've had a number of workers/technicians come over in the past few weeks and they would often just walk in with shoes on without asking if it was ok. So yes, we absolutely recommend his services!!!

I had called Bel-Red Heating and Cooling to have someone come and look at it on Friday. They said they didn't have availability until Monday, but there sister compony "Fox Plumbing Heating and Cooling" might have availability. Bel-Red helped me setup the appointment and they told me that the "diagnosis fee" will be $135 (for Fox Plumbing) Problem #1 (miscommunication): Diagnosis Fee v/s Dispatch Fee - When Fox arrived at my home, they told me that $135 is a "dispatch fee" and that includes the cost of them coming to my home and then they will charge in hour increments until they can figure out what is wrong. So technically, it would actually cost a lot more to actually diagnose the issue. Problem #2 (routing to a more inferior service provider) : Fox is clearly a more inferior service provider that Bel-Red. I had a terrible experience with Fox where they were not able to even conclusive diagnose what was going wrong and i simplify didn't have the confidence that the technician sent to my home will be able to fix it. So basically i lost my $135 fee and no progress on my heater. This review is for Bel-Red, because they routed me to Fox Plumbing, and this is a trust-buster for customers who called Bel-Red to get service because of Bel-Red better brand/service, but due to Bel-Red ended up being setup for a same day appt. with Fox which has a terrible reputations/ratings.

He said the existing valve was unreliable and if not replaced would invalidate the warranty. Overcharged for the valve. I check Home Depot afterwards. When he connected the lid to the toilet, the hose which should have been inserted into the fill tube was left clipped to the wall of the tank. About once a week, I had to plunge the toilet. Toto toilets require a special plunger because the hole is not round. I found this out when the plumber i hired to remove blockage was able to clear it with his plunger. Cost me $380.

In order for him to inspect the leak he says he needed access and open up the drywall downstairs in the ceiling which he did for about $400. It is a hole size 12x6 inches. He says he sees the leak coming from the drainage so he retightned the drainage floor and called it for another $400. All in all I paid $780 for him to come out on the first day. We tried using the shower the next day, it leaked so much more and definitely worse than ever before. We called back right away waited another 2 days for him to show up just to hear that he needs another $780 switch out the tub spout which may or may not fix the issue. Or would go ahead and break the tiled walls to determine the issue and fix the problem permanently which would cost me lot more. Given the 2 options that were presented to me, it made me skeptical immediately. I understand it i s a business that they are running but upselling was its finest. All it was failed o-ring in my bathtub spout that shot back the water into the wall. I fixed it myself. It didn't even need ceiling wall opening and all the other fuss. I thought I was supporting a local business but turns out this place wants to print money and prey on people's emotions and lack of experience.
