But Godwins has outsourced their kitchen and food staff to GlobalPizza, and the results aren't good. So along with your beer flights your food choice is hardly beer hall typical, and disappointing. I had a passable hot dog with chili cheese, my friends shared a pizza with good crust but a thin, flavorless sauce. My other couple shared the chicken tenders that were mediocre. No more pub fare. No German beer hall favorites. Godwins - grab a beer. Go anywhere else to eat. What a shame.

The shrimp had a very strong, fishy smell that was honestly off-putting, and the flavor matched. It almost seemed like the addition of wine was an attempt to mask the issue rather than enhance the dish. The grits were also disappointing--lumpy and lacking the smooth, creamy texture you'd expect. That said, not everything missed the mark. My coworkers ordered the chicken salad, chicken wrap with sweet potato fries , blackened chicken pasta, and bruschetta, and all of those dishes were absolutely delicious and well prepared. They definitely helped redeem the overall experience and show the kitchen is still capable of putting out great food. Adri was our server, and she was an absolute delight--a total gem. She never missed a beat and was completely on top of everything. I also appreciated the convenience of the location. I parked across the street in the garage, which was well lit, safe, and very close. There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which adds to the appeal.
