We appreciated his attention to detail. For instance, he was working on a section of tile, and I noticed that he took it apart and did it again because he wasn't happy with how it was looking. Really great resource for tile and stone needs!…read more We visited here after looking at backsplash tile options in home Depot nearby, which had about one aisle of tile and stone to pick from for kitchen purposes. However, here at LA tile and Stone, they were aisles upon aisles of different kinds of stone and ceramic and porcelain tiles and more. It was great to see the displays on the walls for special orders, and the tiles and stones in boxes for those that are in stock already. There are so many options with outdoor tiling and indoor tiling options, and also some installed and showcase pieces like tub tiling. Each type was clearly marked on which brand or country they were from, and also what sizes or colors that the tile pattern came in, which was helpful. We quickly were able to find several options for our kitchen backsplash project. They offered a referral service in case we needed to have a tile install service. A couple days later I finally decided on which tile to use, and gave them a call to place an order. To make sure that we had our order correct, the lady told me to text her a photo of the tiles that I had taken. She also explained that with the number of tiles that were in each box I would have to buy a certain number of boxes to cover my project. The invoice was sent, and the tiles were ready when promised, only a couple days after I had made the text order. Great experience and would totally use LA tile and stone again for inspiration or for our next project!

MOZAIC ART HAS GRACED WALLS SINCE ANCIENT TIMES If "ELIT…read moreTILE" had been founded these masters might have decorated Cleopatra's boudoir or Michelangelo's chapel. Jinah Kim is like an art museum curator. Her store, like the Louvre has artisan tiles from around the world, Jinah, and her team, have encyclopedic knowledge of the origins, materials, characteristics and best applications. I was not looking to decorate a chapel but just to find the tiles used in my Brentwood condo to do some remodeling. I was lucky to ask a question and she indulged me by showing me the best tiles and finishes for my job. Smart and creative as an artist herself, Jinah estimated my sq ft and sold me a perfect match for my existing deco and design. I was looking to get some glass tile repaired in my Master Bathroom. It was a small job. I sent out…read morea request on Yelp and got quite a few replies. Unfortunately, of all the responses, only two were interested - mainly because of the tile being glass. One company came out and looked at the prospective work and DTLA wanted some pictures and specifics via text and or email. Both company's bids were the same. I sent messages to both to discuss the job further. DTLA responded, and the other one - blew me off! So I spoke with Bill at DTLA Tile. He explained a lot of information about the glass tile, and the possible reasons for the cracking. We worked out the details and set the dates for the repairs - which were planned for one and a half days. On the first day, I overheard the tile technician (Alesandro?) talking to Bill on the speaker phone speaking Spanish. (I speak a little - enough to get by when necessary) He was discussing the difficulty of the work, and Bill replied that there was a "contracto" and they had to honor it. Alesandro worked all day chipping away at the glass tiles removing them. It's a very slow process with glass and makes quite a mess. He was always wearing proper protective gear to prevent injury. Had to make a Home Depot Trip for supplies. He got all of the tiles removed on the first day and on the second day began cutting tiles - when he discovered that he was going to need the wet saw to make the proper cuts on these tiles. He left and came back shortly with a saw and proceeded to cut and install more tiles. At the end of the second FULL day of work - the tiles were installed and he would be back the next day for grouting. We found a couple of MINOR issues that we wanted to have modified. One - meant removing and replacing a tile. But they gladly did that and even made another Home Depot Trip to get some Grout/Caulk to finish up the job. Alesandro left in the early afternoon of the third day. The job had taken almost twice as long due to the complexity of the glass tile. But the price was the same as agreed upon in the "contract." Bill contacted me a day or two later wanting to stop by to pick up payment due, and to inspect the final job. He came in and took pictures of the work and we had a nice conversation about the project and he was complimentary of some of the work that had been done in our house. I had some questions about some other things and he gave me a couple of referrals. This is a GREAT Company to deal with. They EXCEEDED my expectationsI highly recommend DTLA Tile and Stone. If anyone would like references - feel free to message me here on YELP

They are licensed (this is very important -- we had a very bad experience hiring a different contractor earlier this year who cheated by saying he has a license but in fact not, and that contractor scammed our money and never came back to complete the kitchen remodel for us --- that's when we had to look for a new contractor and fortunately we found Annie and Robert.) Annie and Robert came and measured our kitchen and provided computer generated sketches for us to approve. Their on-site installation crew are also fantastic. Overall this is an honest business with great professional crew and it's a pleasure to work with them. Highly recommended.
