Years of customer service has taught me that phone and internet fall behind live clients. Felicia was lovely and patient with my near freak out and got it all together with the changes I decided on. She also confirmed how much paint I would actually be needing. Though she was great I am concerned that the order wasn't put together the day before in case she *was* busy and couldn't get it together in time. *district mgr just called to make sure everything was fine.

Went in today (8/10) to buy some paint for a small (& cheap) project. After I selected my color, I went to the rep (Eamon) and asked for the cheapest flat-sheen paint they had in a quart or gallon size. Eamon proceeds to pull Emerald in a quart size off the shelf and tell me this is the cheapest paint aside from their samples. I didn't bother to let him know that that *I* knew that Emerald is the most expensive line per oz. At ~$22 a quart, a good rep, knowing the circumstances of my project should've recommended a gallon of Captivate (or literally any other line) which is 4 bucks more for an *entire* gallon. And no, there wasn't a stock shortage -- I checked out what they had when I first walked in. At this point I asked if I could purchase two sample sizes instead, and after looking at his stock of 6 tells me he can only sell me one. I informed him that the last week I purchased 3 samples when there were also only 6 with no problem, and so he lies and tells me this is a store policy and shrugs. Either have the policy posted, or sell your stock. Considering I've purchased many multiples of samples from SW in the past, I think it's bs. I have also never had a store tell me they can't sell me the product they have in stock. Super weird and uncomfortable interaction overall. Feeling like I was being cheated out on price, and then fed a bullsh*t line about store policy so he could save face. First interaction with Eamon, I'm sure he's an okay guy, but needs a training on customer service. Won't be back and will bike over to a different paint store for this project and for others. There's so many paint brands nowadays! ----------------------------------------- If you want to still go...What I like about this store: - Of the reps I've encountered, they give you space to explore the color cards at your leisure and don't hover. Avoid Eamon though. - It's a few blocks from where I live and I believe one of the only paint stores on the west side (vs. F&B or BM on the east). - Good hours, open on time - Always have the line, sheen, and size container that I want - Cashiers always have the coupon codes ready to scan (if you forget) - They'll happily look up your past purchases in case you forget a paint color name (which I do all of the time)

Over the years I've gotten screws, hooks, sink pipes, and basically every supply I needed for painting my hallway and bedroom. They're really friendly, helpful and attentive. Most of my trips in are usually 5 mins or less, they're that good!

I've often been inspired to commence apartment-wide DIY projects because of some nearly hidden products hanging from the ceiling or stashed behind kitchen wares. One such project was to hide or camouflage all the damn cables and electrical cords I had running in every room. I came across some cable-hiding kits here, and I was soon obsessed with the ingenious plastic tubing that covered the cords and cables but could be painted the same color as the walls in my apartment - thus making the miles of electrical cabling invisible! Lol. The guys who work here are awesome. Smart, hot, and good-hearted to a fault. There are quite a few reviews that mention the staff being glued to their mobile phones, but I swear, hand-to-God, I've never seen a single staff member use a cell phone at the store - they are too goddam busy working; cleaning, putting out new inventory of top-shelf electrical tools, all the while restocking the shelves with the never-ending demand for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and Tide laundry detergent at bargain- basement prices, and patiently and carefully explaining complex repair procedures to New Yorkers who have never even seen a hammer but are desperate to repair the giant depression in the wall that mysteriously appeared at last night's Birthday and Vodka Party!! Staff are very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient to first time painter(s). Aisles are organize with paint chips and Pantone color swatches. Sherwin-Williams carry a wild selection of colors and Pantone colors. Martha Stewart paint is sold here. Surprisingly upon entering this retail paint store it does not have the stench of paint as I never like the smell. "Ask how, ask Sherwin-Williams."

Later in the week I went back for a few gallons of paint and was well served by both the cashier, salesman and stock man. Since then I have been using them as my go to source for paint and supplies. It is a little more expensive than buying in NJ but MUCH more convenient! I only give them four stars because while they seem to be great guys to me, I see how short they can be with certain customers. If you know a little bit about what you want an speak confidently but politely they warm up to you very quickly. The customers with problems and no patience get the short shrift. A good place to shop if you have a handle on what you need.

They have two side-by-side store fronts. One is dedicated to succulents while the other is entirely for tropicals. While the plants aren't particularly inexpensive, they are gorgeous and healthy. One thing I did want to note was that I did feel like the staff hovered around me. This is completely understandable since I'm sure they've had issues with shoplifting. That being said, it was a little off putting and I did not enjoy being followed around the store. However, they have a super adorable shop cat which makes up for the hovering! I ended up purchasing an orchid, a crested cactus, and a haworthia and they are all thriving!
