I view myself as uncoordinated, and I didn't know if this was the best route for me. I gained 25 pounds in the last 6 years and lost my self-confidence. I wanted to get myself back, but I didn't know how to do it. Going to Eli was the best thing I could have done. Eli's personality, motivational training style, and extensive nutrition knowledge allowed me to reach my goals. I train with Eli 3 times a week. I lost 25 pounds in the first 4 months and reached my goal weight of 122 pounds. Eli put me at ease at my first appointment and continues to put me at ease. He challenges me, but with a very watchful eye during my entire workout. Eli makes sure my form is correct so I target the correct muscles and prevent injury. Every workout is different. I don't know how he keeps so many exercises in his head. I am never bored and the hour flies by. My life is busy. I have a full time job and a family of 7. Sometimes I have to change my workout times in order to incorporate my 3 weekly workouts. Eli always works with me so I may maintain my workout schedule. I will continue my 3 weekly workouts. I feel so much more energy, and I have my self confidence back. I am definitely healthier, and shopping for clothes has become enjoyable. Eli is always ready to answer my many questions. As goals are attained, I set new goals. Eli incorporates my new goals into an updated plan. He recently emailed me a food guide for my current goal of further lowering body fat. Eli is not only a great trainer, he is a good person. He is very passionate about what he does. Eli walks the walk and is an inspiration. I highly recommend Eli as a positive motivation and wealth of knowledge in your quest of improved health and the ability to have control over your own body!

He's a nutrition guru as well and has created meal plans for me to achieve my weight and fitness goals. He always pushes me to achieve greater, modifies exercises as needed, and over the years I've learned to trust his judgment. Total Health and Exercise in Centennial, where we work out, is a private gym of the highest quality: clean, large space with a great sound system, equipment in excellent condition, locker rooms with showers, really good lighting, towels, mirrored walls, special flooring, etc. The gym has an energizing atmosphere because of the positive attitude of the trainers and clients. At times it feels like an extended family.

I stopped by on April 12, around 11:45am for the first time to sign up as a new customer. There wasn't a single customer in the place as I walked in. Just 3 employees. I inquired about their service and then told the young man and woman behind the counter that if they did a good job today, I would purchase 5 more appts right then (at $60 each). The male employee snickered at me giving me a partial eye role. He then just sat there doing or saying nothing while I stood in front of him. The female continued eating her lunch on the front counter as if it were her last meal, ignoring me. After a minute or two of dead silence, I asked the male, "how do we get this started." He asked for my name. I told him. He spent the next 5 minutes trying to input my name in the computer but couldn't figure it out. He then called for the 3rd employee (a woman) for help. She spent 5 minutes and couldn't figure it out. Losing patience, I told the male, "this is ridiculous. I didn't think this appt would take all afternoon," in which he replied, "oh, we can't stretch you today, we're booked until the end of the week (5 days.) Why didn't he tell that to me in the first place? I told him, "you just lost my business." He gave me the, "I could care less shrug," not saying a word. The female took a 30 second break to stop stuffing her face to mumble an insult at me as I walked out the door. Apparently no one wants to work at this place. The owner would be wise to check in on his business. Then he might understand why he has no customers or revenue. Rude, lazy, uneducated, untrained, and embarrassment are 5 words I would use to describe this want-to-be business.

If you are looking for a personal trainer that actually does weight training and won't take it easy…read moreon you, Brandon is a great one. He doesn't just force all of his clients to do the same thing, he tailors a workout regimen to the client's needs. He will give you as much information as you want about the approach he is taking, why you're doing what you're doing, and even give you as many pointers about personal health habits that need improving in or out of training. He's pretty flexible when it comes to what days/times you want to come in and will keep up with your schedule to make it work. He's also pretty down to earth and fun to talk to while you're training, all the while making you work. It's easier to work out if you're distracted from the pain, I think, so it's a good characteristic for a trainer. It's definitely worth it.

But, I wasn't making progress. Then I met Brandon. He is incredible. He uses old school weight training which is so much better then circuits. Aside from circuits, I had never lifted weights before. We started with weights low enough where I felt comfortable and then quickly started increasing weight. He knows how hard to push you so you improve, but do not get hurt. Brandon brings an abundance of training and experience to the table. He is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of the muscles groups and focuses on working all of them out. He has a way of explaining the movements so you can visualize how the exercise is working out the muscles. He is also very patient. He doesn't mind repeating the same thing over and over until I get it. If you want serious no-nonsense weight training with a true professional, Brandon is your man!

I took my first class at this Pilates Evolution location yesterday and had a fantastic experience…read more The instructor, Katrina, greeted me immediately upon walking in and made sure I was signed in. She recognized that I was new along with one other person, so she showed us both the machine and got us set up. The class itself was great! If you're not familiar with Lagree, it's a style of high-intensity Pilates that combines cardio and strength training. It's very hard and very rewarding. Katrina did a fantastic job of encouraging and pushing us while providing either modifications or ways to make the workout harder. There were some empty machines and I loved this as it meant she was able to demonstrate on one, so I knew exactly what the exercises should look like. I've taken several Lagree classes but still consider myself relatively new to this type of exercise, so I appreciated the visual demonstration. Overall, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. There was also ample free parking. Because of that, the convenient location, and great instruction, I will definitely be back!

I think everyone remembers something about…read moretheir first class - how hard it was, how it seems like everyone else in the class is a superstar, how you wonder if you'll ever "get there". I remember Plank to Pike, specifically, how I couldn't do it on one light spring (I had to add a spring for more support). My body just couldn't do the movement, I wasn't strong enough. But I kept at it, I kept showing up for class, through the snow storms and sore quads, through all of the growing pains so that one day, I didn't feel like I had to spend more time looking around me to see what everyone else was doing, I could just do the Plank to Pike on one light spring. Earlier this month, I took a camping trip to the southwest, and on one of the days, I rented a sea kayak at Lake Powell - I wanted to see the Slot Canyons. It's a 3-mile kayak trip one way to get to the base of the trail in Antelope Canyon, and then after you hike, you fight the wind blowing against you to paddle the 3 miles back. Besides seeing the beauty and grandeur of the canyon, I had the most amazing experience - I looked down while I was paddling and noticed my arms. They were strong, there was muscle definition I've never had in my life, I looked good! And better than that, I felt good, I felt Strong. I realized that all the core strengthening, all those arm exercises, all those squats and lunges that I had been doing made a difference. I showed up and put in the work, and my body gave it all back to me. I was so tired the day after my kayaking, but it was a "good" tired and a "good" sore - it was the feeling of getting out there and living. #PilatesStrong #PilatesEvolution #Transformation #LiveIntentional
