Horribly unprofessional place. If you love when people waste your time, put you on long holds every time you call, and refuse to give you any information this is your place. My boyfriend came here because he has keratoconus. Previously, he had came here while there was a more experienced doctor that helped him with no issue. We came here again for new contacts for him because we had no issues previously. This time, there was nothing but issues. After paying for the initial exam, they pretty much ensured us that the contacts would be covered by his insurance. After multiple calls and trying to get ahold them, they finally told us his contacts were not approved. However, they stated the doctor had been trying get them approved but did not communicate with him the entire time. It is also notable to mention that this doctor was going to give my boyfriend his previous (4+ year old) eye prescription because he was frustrated and could not be bothered to work with my boyfriend to try and get the best prescription. On top of that, any information we got was only because he kept calling. To the owner, don't respond to this as no one cares about your shitty generic apology. It means nothing. I am simply writing this review to warn others. The silver lining in all this bs is that we were able to find a much more professional place because of this experience. Do better shitty owners. Editing review because the owner obviously had time to write me that pretty quickly. We are both adults, don't start with the foul language bs. Also, notice how you are deflecting and not taking responsibility and simply blaming insurance? That is the problem. This entire time you and your team never made time to address insurance issues. We could have went somewhere else but you deliberately wasted our time because you wanted our money one way or another. You don't value our time so I wrote you a shitty review. Worst place to get contact lenses specifically sclera lenses. Had me waiting almost 6 months just to tell me they couldn't do it. If you want the best experience go to " All About Eyez" they'll treat you good and it's Ina better area not some lame ass swapmeat. read more

This was such a wait of time. My grandmother has a prosthetic eye and we came to see this "optometrist" to help her remove it and clean the area since she's not able to do so herself. The "optometrist" began watching videos on "how to remove prosthetic eyes". I was distraught. He wasn't able to do this simple task. Worse customer service I think I have ever received at an optometrist. First they asked me to come back 2 separate times for measurements. Upon the third time asked to come back, I asked in regards to what exactly and it was measurements!!! Mind you: Traffic on this street is horrible and to find parking takes about 30min circling the lot & $3 each time. I asked them to please wait until the order is complete to call again as glasses and contacts were coming in around the same time for both my fiancé and I.. to which I was given a nasty attitude. I get a call a few days later completely disregarding my request to have all items picked up at once then given attitude. I then proceed to explain why(when asked) why I do not want to get one item at a time and we agreed for it all be picked up Monday. By this point I call in at 5:50pm (they close at 6:00pm)...as a courtesy for our combined almost $2,000 order.. to ask if they could wait at least 5 min as I it was rush hour traffic and was given a nasty tone at first but was told that it was fine and they would stay open. Only to get there at 5:55 and they had the nerve to close. When I asked the vendor across, she stated it appears they took advantage that the "Arab owner lady was gone, and left early for the day.".. it wasn't the fact that I had just got off the phone after racing but also the fact that they are closed Tuesday!! So unprofessional, unorganized & just changed management apparently. I don't think I will ever go back and I think that I will cancel my order at this point of the back and forth along with the joke of a service received. Found this place on Yelp since I needed an eye exam on a Sunday. Sure I was able to get an appointment same day and prices were semi-reasonable. As soon as I hung up I noticed a yelp deal for $30 for $50 voucher (see pic). I read the terms and conditions of the voucher, and there were are no exclusions on it. I called to double check before buying it, and they said no the voucher couldn't be used on eye exams. Apparently, the voucher can only be used on frames and/or lenses only. I replied that the voucher doesn't say that anywhere. All I know is something smells fishy and isn't adding up here. The staff was really short and didn't care to explain anything. I asked how would I have know if I didn't call and ask? They said "well we're telling you now so that's good enough". If this is how they treat new customers I wonder if people ever come back. read more

I've never worried about getting glasses because I've had 20/20 vision all my life. It wasn't until my boyfriend stopped at Faro's optometry and spoke with both Lily and the manager. I was shocked that he was able to get high-end glasses at such an affordable price. They were able to book him an eye exam appointment for the next day, and within 24 hours of dropping into the store he was able to walk out with prescription Ray-Ban's that had anti-reflective lenses. Im so grateful that Lily convinced him to take the eye exam. It was his FIRST ever exam, and he turned out to have an astigmatism. He has struggled to drive and read on the computer for years, but I always thought he was being lazy or making excuses. However after being in the eye exam, I can't stress enough the importance of getting checked out. EVERYONE SHOULD COME TO FARO'S OPTOMETRY! I highly recommend it. read more

I went here due to the deal they have going on which is the get 2 pairs for 80. The service was great, fast, and they answered all of my questions. Price-wise, I would say is very economic, for both of my pairs, I paid 190$ dollars (not counting the exam fee) plus my glasses included anti-glare and transition (for the sun). As a student, I would say this fit my budget. Although, I will be honest, I went to pick up and only one out of my two pairs were ready since they messed up on my second pair. My daughter doesn't fall under any of those reasons for contacts but it doesn't matter I said no, that's it, no need to push as Dr. did, if you're a parent who has already said no a third party trying to convince you other wise especially in front of the kid isn't cool. You weren't in there you don't know. I actually went to another eye care center the same distance from my house (same community you serve) that has a great selection of Medi-Cal approved frames my son was able to select from. (By the way is that a violation of HIPPA, you telling everyone my particular insurance? I'm not sure) Concerning your address no one should be ashamed of their business you included I was simply letting the reader know where you are located. I was prepared for one place and instead found myself amongst a whole lot of people I did not expect, there is nothing in your address that says you are located in the swap meet, like I said it's a heads up not a negative reaction. Your response in this matter was unnecessary, unprofessional and in my opinion doesn't help your business at all but rather may hurt your business more than my initial review could have. Let's start by getting this out of the way: *Yes, they are located in a swapmeet. *Yes, you will probably have to turn and turn to look for parking if it's a Saturday or Sunday. *Yes, it might not be your normal "location, location" for this type of business, but guess what, most great 5 star businesses are found where you least expect them to be. Dr. Ali Mohebbi is excellent because he is informative, personable and makes you feel that he cares about the overall health of your eyes. This is my first time visit. I called two hours prior to arriving and was given an appointment over the phone. I was 5 minutes late due to the parking situation since it's a Sunday, but was able to get my vision checked within 15-20 minutes. The staff is friendly and polite always asking if you have been helped and offering you a place to sit. After my eye exam a staff member helped me understand the different options that I had for lenses. He was very informative and thorough. The prices are great, the selection of glasses was perfect for what I was looking for. They have a great selection to choose from including Versace, Michael Kors, Ray-Ban, Vogue and others. After I made my selection, I was told to wait an hour for my glasses. This is where you will enjoy coming here since there is a massive selection of stands selling food, clothing, stuff for the home, etc. while you wait for your glasses to be ready. After an hour I was able to pick up my glasses. I will be coming back for my annual check up and meanwhile will be recommending Faro Optometry, Dr. Ali A Mohebbi and his lovely staff. Highly recommend this spot. This spot was recommended to my boyfriend by a fellow co worker, so we decided to check it out. We always came to Alameda swap meet, but never came across this place. I really didn't know where to go for my prescription glasses, since it was my first time ever getting some. Obviously there are lots of options & places to go to, but I'm really glad we came here. Manager Vrezh, is very professional. He walked us through everything step by step. He listened to the type of style I was looking for, he even asked to see a picture of what I had in mind. I came a couple of weeks ago with my parents. The thing about this place is parking is terrible depending at what time you come (since it's inside a swap meet), so be prepared to wait a while before you actually go inside. If there's a lot of people inside you might have to wait a bit even if you have an appointment, and there aren't many seats inside. You can easily pass time eating something around there though. Other than that, it's a great place with great service! Everyone is friendly and professional. We were greeted with smiles. :) They speak both English and Spanish which is cool. The doctor is really nice, while I was with him he explained everything to me and answered all my questions. He really went above and beyond.
