We came to visit for the first time. Very clean and welcoming. The menu had a lot of options including breakfast. The cost of items were in sync with most of its hamburger competitor. The team member that took our order was very pleasant and kind. We ordered a bacon hamburger and grill cheese. The hamburger was fresh and hot off the grill. The fries were crispy enough and lightly salted. I enjoyed the grill cheese sandwich. They grilled cheese on top of the bread to make it crusty. That was really good. I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding a recent experience my family and I had at the Farmer Boys location in Lodi, California. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, we placed a drive-through order. When we reached the window, the staff member who identified himself as Chris instructed us to pull out of the drive-through and park in one of the front parking spots. We agreed, assuming this was to help keep the drive-through wait time numbers low and trusting that our order would be brought out to us promptly. Instead, we waited nearly 20 minutes with no food and no communication. Eventually, I went inside the restaurant to ask why our order was taking so long. Quite honestly, it appeared that our order had been forgotten entirely. When I asked Chris where our food was, he pointed toward the counter separating the cooks from the registers, as if our food had been sitting there for an unknown amount of time. When I asked why no one had notified us that our food was ready or brought it out to us as promised, Chris responded that he had "about $1,000 worth of orders on the screen" that he was trying to complete. This response came across as dismissive and implied that our order was no longer a priority. This was extremely frustrating, especially considering we moved our vehicle specifically to help the restaurant's drive-through wait time numbers. What concerns me just as much as the delay is the larger issue this situation highlights. Had this occurred while my wife was alone with our two toddler sons, she would not have been able to safely exit the vehicle to go inside and ask about our food. This is precisely why families with young children rely on drive-through service. In that scenario, she would have been left waiting indefinitely with no way to advocate for herself or our children, which is unacceptable. After finally receiving our food and leaving after approximately 22 minutes total, we discovered that one order of fries was missing from one of the combo meals. To make matters worse, when we arrived home to eat, all of the food was cold, clearly having sat out for an extended period of time. This was incredibly disappointing, especially after such a long wait and lack of communication. At no point was an apology offered, nor was there any attempt to correct the situation or acknowledge the inconvenience. What should have been a simple family meal turned into a frustrating and avoidable experience. I hope Farmer Boys takes customer service, accountability, and family accessibility seriously and addresses these issues with the Lodi location. I would appreciate a response regarding how this matter will be resolved. read more

I just ordered take out. Omg. Horrible. Just horrible. Some pancakes were undercooked and some were burnt. Bacon, small and skimpy. Looks like it's from this morning and this is 6 o'clock at night. I haven't had a hamburger at a fast food place in a long time, but got into Lodi by mistake. I remembered (from about 3 yrs ago) how nice the people were that work there & remembered the burgers were really good. So I went through the drive-through since I had my dog with me and got the burger box & a cup of water for my dog. Again, the burger was excellent. The fries were outstanding and the ice cold drink was so good in this 90° weather! The service at the drive-through window did not disappoint ...again outstanding! And I was just mentioning to someone about their service there and that is something that is very much appreciate!!! read more

I haven't been since they reopened and was pleasantly surprised how nice it looked. The menu was pretty much the same as before. Burgers, sandwiches and breakfast. I had the cheeseburger meal which includes fries and a drink. Priced at just over $14 it wasn't a bargain but it wasn't outrageous either. It wasn't crowded but it took a while to get my food. The burger was cooked well done and it was okay. Lettuce, tomato, 1000 islands dressing and toasted bun. The fries were generously portioned and hotter than blazes! They were very good! We were introduced to Farmer Boys in SoCal on the way to the casino and I tell you ever since then, we have been HOOKED! Found out that we have one in Lodi and we also get to pass it up before we go home. So of course we stop by there and of course we literally order a bunch of food. We initially went there for the patty melt because that's what we first had when we were in SoCal, but it wasn't in season. No big deal, burgers and fish and chips it is. When I tell you that everything here is cooked to a perfect crisp, I tell you now you will get hooked. All 3 of us had our own burgers and fries and as well as the fish and chips. We honestly LOVED our food as well as the Fish and chips. I honestly have not came across any fast food joint that cooks their fish and chips exactly how you like it and wanting more. I usually have to go to a hole in the wall to get some decent fish and chips, but Farmer Boys was perfect. Ambiance is diner like with silverware and I honestly love it like that. They also serve breakfast, but that's going to be for another time. I saw the big window poster advertising a 3 Egg Breakfast Burrito, so I picked one up this weekend. It cost $12.50+ with tax, so not cheap. I admittedly am a breakfast burrito snob and have yet to find one single place in Lodi, other than Avenue Grill, that makes a good one. Not Rancho San Miguel, not any of the taco trucks, not even La Campana. First thing I did when I got home was to unwrap it and cut it in half to see the ingredients inside. Much to my surprise, there was barely any egg and seem to be mostly potato. There was some bacon but even less cheese. The Heinz hot sauce that they provided was horrible. Thank God I had some Taco Bell packets in my kitchen drawer. I was highly disappointed. There is no way there was even two eggs in that burrito. Never I repeat never come to this place again.not only can they not able to make an order correctly, but not give all the items on the order. Top it off instead of offering to fix mistakes will sit and argue with you. I don't how hard it is to put meat to the side and keep the bread and cheese for two kids under ten years old who won't eat meat. Bottom line for $60 you get wrong order with missing items, while having a grown man argue and yell at your mother telling her to pull the cheese off the meat for her two grandchildren who are vegetarians. OMG: I was Sooooo disappointed!!!! Place and staffs uniforms were wrinkled and filthy! Staff needs to put effort on their personal grooming! The place was surface cleaned, but you could see the dirt and grim all around. The french fries were horrible. I had to go back take them back because the taste of the OLD cooking oil was horrible. The soda was flat there was no carbonation ! I have been to several farmer boys in Southern California and no comparison to this one in Lodi . Lodi is embarrassment to the franchise chain in my opinion. Anyway, I hope the management and owners take notice of all the negative reviews and revamp at that place because it could be as good as the ones in Southern California and be very successful. And I would drive from Elk Grove to Lodi for 20 minutes if their food and service And ambience was comparable to Southern California. Farmer Boys has been on my radar for literally at least 10 years! They have many locations in SoCal but I never manage to make my way there and I wasn't aware that Lodi and Modesto had locations. I brought my dad here since I told him I'd been wanting to try this place so we came on a Sunday and the drive-thru was pretty busy and when we got to the speaker to order our food we were told upfront that it would be a 20 minute wait, I'm guessing they are short staffed here. The menu is pretty extensive and has so many options, definitely not what I expected from a fast food place. The menu consists of: - Breakfast Sandwiches - Breakfast Platters - Burritos - Burgers - Salads/Wraps - Various Sides (Fries, Onion Rings, Fried Zucchini) The list goes on!! There are options for everyone here and it's a bit overwhelming lol. Although their cobb salad looked amazing and have great reviews, I opted for the Patty Melt with Fried Zucchini and my dad ordered the Big Cheeseburger with Fries. This along with two drinks came to almost $30, a bit expensive I think. Before consuming my patty melt I was disappointed because the bread was slightly burnt. The patty melt itself was just average, nothing special and the burger patty seemed to be smaller than the bread so I had bites that were bread and no meat. The fried zucchini was disappointing as well because the pieces were very large and although they were fried they were still a little hard to bite and not as soft as I would have expected. Just imagine thinking you're going to bite into a fairly soft piece of fried zucchini then surprise it's hard af and crunchy lol. My dad said his burger was just average and he should have gotten one of their specialty burgers but he did say the fries were really good. Overall I think I need to go back and give them another try, maybe they were having an off day due to being understaffed. There are other items on the menu that I would like to try and I would like to check out their breakfast items. So although my first visit wasn't the best I still will be trying them again and hope that the next visit is better. read more

I've been here about five times, and I think only one of those times my order was correct. I want to support this local business but I'm tired of having to take apart my food in the parking lot to make sure that they got it right. Otherwise, I honestly haven't been wowed by anything so far. When my orders were completed correctly, I didn't feel like there was anything that separated the food from other places. The breakfast burrito is probably the most expensive in town, and if you dont want meat, it's served small and not compensated with a little more egg or hashbrown. I also tried the "natural" cheeseburger. It wasn't bad but it didn't blow my mind. And no choice in how I wanted it done, so it was fairly well done, and had shrunken considerably from what the advertised 1/3 pound patty should resemble. I understand that not getting an order correct is not company policy, but has more to do with the local workforce. This is a problem all over town. Kids taking the orders and making the food, with no skills or work ethic. They're polite and friendly enough, but that only goes so far. This is an issue that the parents of the community should be addressing, since restaurants and businesses suffer from staff that doesn't care about getting the job done right. Very disappointed today! After coming here every Sunday and downloading the app we had almost the same experience as Nate below. We ordered at 2:08pm. We got our eggs after at 3:00pm after sequence of follow ups from my son followed by me then my wife. I mentioned to Gladys that my daughter loved coming here because she likes her burger with fries and her eggs. She dips the fries on the yolk. I was hoping they made the eggs when I followed up but it looked like they had no plans of making it. Gladys and Dulce said they had the burgers on the pan? The burger was juicy and the Club sandwich was excellent. Inside the restaurant was clean and inviting. This is a pretty good fast food burger place. Perfect location for it as well. Sometimes the wait can take long but nothing to want to pull your hair out Customer service is usually pretty good. I love their fried zucchinis. It's hard to find a place that makes them perfect. They are pretty good for a fast food restaurant. This is my first visit to Farmer Boys and was excited to try it with all the yummy looking billboards throughout Highway 99. I had the impression that was diner where you ordered at your table but instead you do so at the counter. The selection is pretty good with burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, and even breakfast items. That made it perfect for my son who wanted French Toast and bacon. We grabbed him the meal that also gave him two eggs sunny side up. I went with the Bacon Cheeseburger along with Chili Cheese Fries. We selected a booth to sit at. Thankfully, unlike IHOP, the tables were clean and not sticky. Our food was brought to us quickly. It all looked really good. Would taste match presentation? In a word, yup. My son really enjoyed his French Toast. He liked the bacon but said a few were a little more crispy than he would have cared for. I noticed the same with my burger but that's how I like it on a burger so for me, it was just right. The burger itself had a wonderful amount of fresh ice berg lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The 1,000 Island spread wasn't bad but I added a healthy slab of mayonnaise and ketchup. I ate my sons eggs as he was full and I thought they were cooked perfect. My Chili Cheese Fries were quite delicious. The chili was flavorful and the onions crispy. The fries were also crispy but not over cooked. My only suggestion would be for melted cheese instead of the shredded cheese still, you know, shredded. The service was very good with everyone being quite friendly and never seeming to be put out with any requests made. Service really can make your experience enjoyable and even make the food better. We passed IHOP to get to Farmer John's tonight and I'm glad that we stopped in. I'll be back. read more
