First timer... other than getting cold fries everything was awesome. The front staff girl was awesome. Had a very nice attitude and was very kind. After I told them my fries were cold they immediately replaced them with fresh hot fries and was very nice about it. Wow. I read a lot of reviews and it seems hit and miss on food and service but my experience was spot on. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. Only got 2 rings but they were very large so I was okay with that. Sub the Swiss cheese for pepper jace and was charged $1.29 (shocked). The ranch is good. I will do again if I'm in the area. The service was lousy at 10am when we were the only ones there, altho drive thru was open. Of 6 of us order @1 did not get the side of bacon for 20 mins. Order two - the hash browns tasted like sand in it. Order # took 30 mins and they refused to give the toast cause they said they gave it to us. At the end of 30 mins when we were all thru order # got some bacon and they again argued that we had gotten it. The manager stuck up for the workers. I think our food went into the drive thru bags. Ate here today because I happened to be in town for something. Ceres is a pretty small town and doesn't have too many places to eat. I decided to give this place a chance and was very surprised. This place has really good food and a broad enough menu to match many tastes. I went with the Sourdough Avocado Chicken Sandwich because it has a mixture of everything I enjoy on a sandwich (bacon, cheese, chicken, & avocado). I would of been a bit skeptical about ordering this after reading a previous review on here about the chicken being undercooked. Mine was grilled thoroughly and tasted very good. The price of the sandwich and fries came to around $11 and some change. The staff was friendly here and everyone seemed content with their meals as I looked around. They need to open more of these around California. It kind've reminded me of The Habit Burger but with an expanded menu list. I'll happily stop by here next time I'm in the area and in the mood for a good meal. read more

Fresh is good but I don't care to pay for the whole farm. When I saw the name Farmer Boys, I half-expected every employee to be dressed in overalls as a company uniform. I've seen plenty of people go to the location in Riverbank, but I didn't know that the company had dining rooms. I never visited before this because I didn't want to eat in my car. A buddy and I ended up here because everything else seemed old and stale. The menu is big with three different sections, including breakfast. The photos were odd. The photos of salads on the menu board looked like Asian soup. I got the Pastrami sandwich combo and my buddy got the The Bacon Boy combo. $22.25 for both? It seems a bit much, but fresh is important. They said fresh, not organic, so I assume that GMO is possible. They gave us a number for the table and two cups. After a while, someone brought the food to the table, just like Carl's Jr. She also brought some Cinna-something cinnamon-sugar coated pastries. The food was good, but not great. Did the ciabatta roll make up for the fatty pastrami? No. I'm guessing this is California-style pastrami because I never had such fatty pastrami anywhere else in the country. Try any Jewish deli in the northeast and you'll get something much better. I was told that the burger was good but not memorable. I might go one more time and try a different sandwich, but I'm not inspired to return. read more

If you are not a fan of avocados make sure you tell them no avocados! They seem to like to put it on everything. Also you can get the zucchini's chopped instead of spears. Good burgers very fresh tasting. Wish I didn't have to travel all the way to Ceres to get one. The chili fries are delicious too. If they screw up they will gladly make it right. read more

VERY disappointed in Farmer Boys in Ceres today. Decided I wanted a treat, so I ordered an order of onion rings and a large iced tea. The cost for those two items was $10.60. For onion rings and a drink. I wouldn't have minded too much but the onion rings were inedible. Really, just awful. The batter had no seasoning and it rings were woody and raw. I have been hitting In-n-Out burger for 20 years they have never ever made a mistake on an order even in the drive thru. I use the Farmer Boys Drive thru for the first time today and they not only shorted us fries but when we got home we discovered my Club Sandwich was actually a Hamburger. Needless to say when we did get to finally sit down and eat our food was cold and soggy. They don't even deserve one star but yelp doesn't have a zero star rating. Best little burger place around. Beats In and Out, Burger King, McDonalds. The fries are awesome, burgers delicious and huge, chicken strips are chicken strips. It's nothing fancy but damn is it good. Now the people who work here are different. Yes, they're mostly teens and early 20-somethings. But they're different. They're genuinely friendly, patient, quick and pay attention to detail. My three year old is picky (no, really?) and he loved the chicken. My sandwich was delicious. DEE-LICIOUS. Italian dressing instead of mayo. Genius! The kid at the drive through was super sweet. I think his name was Konnor with a K. You can tell he has a big heart. Rare with teens these days. They have a fried chicken sandwich but give it out burnt and when I told them it was burnt they took like 20 minutes to give me another with not even an apology almost as if it was on purpose. They asked tables around me if they wanted any boxes or anything else but seemed to pass my table and not ask me. The California BLT also had TERRIBLE bread. It seemed toasted and looked fine but one bite and your teeth and gums would hurt.
