I've been eyeing the new Farm Store on Brownsboro Road since I saw the sign go up at the former Rally's location.
I have a tender spot in my heart for drive-thru convenience stores. That may be weird, but I fondly remember my family and I regularly going to a drive-up convenience store in my home town whenever we were on the way to go to a family member's pool. My dad would load up on ice for the coolers, and we would get potato chips or other snacks to munch on in the back seat in the summer heat.
So yesterday, I had a few minutes to spare, and I thought I would check out the Farm Store, which just opened, after seeing some segments about it on the news. It's part of a national chain but the first of its kind in Kentucky. Along with the drive-thru, you can walk up to grab convenience items or order ahead via its app.
The manager was quick to greet me when I pulled up. The small building is stocked with grocery staples, like milk, bread, pantry items, candy and more. I opted, though, for a breakfast sandwich and a coffee.
The breakfast sandwich, which had sausage, egg and cheese on it, reminded me of an Arby's croissant sandwich. The biscuit was flaky, and the sandwich was warm. The coffee also hit the spot.
This will such a great option when I'm in need of grocery items but don't want to go into Kroger, like when I have my son and pup in the car. It's a bit dangerous that it's just down the street from my house. I will be back. read more
