Dr. Tyska and his assistant Kristen showed genuine concern and listened to feedback, demonstrating a commitment to patient care. The professionalism and dedication to resolving the issue were impressive. My daughter will soon be getting here braces with Dr. Tyska. But recently, I had such an unfortunate interchange with their office manager and staff. I called to book an appointment for my daughter to get a quote on another round of braces (she never wore her retainers and teeth shifted back). The front desk told me there would be a fee for return clients but not for new clients. That didn't make sense to me so I said no thank you. I already received a complimentary consultation elsewhere with a quote. And they did NOT charge me. The front desk told me she would have someone call me back. Sure. I got a call back and told the same thing. Ok. Then I proceeded to cancel my appointment. The office (wish I remembered her name), said she would ask the doctors and call me back (again). Days later I received a call and told there would be no fee. Great. My husband brought my daughter yesterday and sure enough, I am charged $85.00. Called and spoke to the office manager. She handled it very poorly, and kept explaining that they did a lot of "extra's" and that the $85 was actually a great deal. The thing is, I didn't ask for any extra's. I just wanted to know if I would be paying the same price for another round of braces and to see if I could get some kind of discount as a returning patient. This manager made a point to say that there was no record of my previous conservations and therefore, she would not do anything. I have worked for years in private practice - Manhattan - selling elective medical cosmetic procedures. I understand how this works. It is not about the money but about the practice keeping their word and honoring their commitment to the patient. I spoke to them 3x before our actual appointment and they still charged me. I am so disappointed with how they now run their business. Very sad indeed.

The woman who brought me back was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and my cleaning itself was great. The doctor was also very friendly, personable, and pleasant. I genuinely have nothing negative to say about the people who actually provided my dental care. Unfortunately, the issue that really soured the experience for me was the office's $5 "office copay" policy. Their paperwork states: "There will be an office copay of $5.00 per visit which covers all oral hygiene and procedural instructions, oral hygiene aids and all disposable items used during your visit." What I found particularly frustrating is that this $5 fee applies even when you have a routine cleaning that is covered by your dental insurance with no copay. In my case, I have dental insurance and my routine cleaning was covered, yet the office still wanted to charge an additional $5 office fee. My biggest issue is that I was not informed about this fee when I was choosing the practice or signing up as a new patient. I didn't discover it until I received/picked up the new-patient paperwork the day of my appointment. In my opinion, a fee like this should be clearly disclosed before someone becomes a new patient, especially when it is something that will be charged at every visit regardless of what their insurance covers. Had I known beforehand that I would be charged an additional office fee for things like disposable supplies and oral hygiene instructions, I absolutely would have taken that into consideration when choosing a dental office. I expect a dental office to bill my insurance appropriately for the services provided, and I don't think patients should be surprised afterward by an additional office charge that wasn't clearly communicated when establishing care. The handling of the $5 charge at checkout also added to my frustration. The front desk woman seemed annoyed that I wasn't happy about the fee and told me she would zero out the $5 charge. However, when I went to check out, another woman at the back desk attempted to charge me the $5. I explained that the front desk had told me it would be removed, and she responded that she hadn't spoken to her about it. They ultimately did not charge me the $5, but the fact that I had to explain the situation twice was frustrating and unnecessary. Again, the actual dental care and clinical staff were great, which is why this isn't a completely negative review. But I strongly believe this $5 policy should be disclosed upfront, before a patient chooses the practice and completes new-patient paperwork. For me, the issue isn't the five dollars itself -- it's the principle of being charged an additional office fee for every visit, even when the visit is covered by insurance, without that fee being clearly disclosed at the time I was deciding whether to become a patient. If I had known about this policy beforehand, I would have chosen a different dental office.

My last visit was right when the Pandemic hit in 2020! I've always liked the really clean feeling you get after the hygienist appointment- yeah I'm weird! I don't mind going to the dentist! I take good care of my teeth. If home, brushing after most meals. Use a good electronic spin brush, they are the best! Flossing almost daily. Very important to floss! Having had braces as a child, I feel comfortable with dental care and visits to the dentist. Every hygienist I've had at Inspire has done a great job, gentle and thorough cleaning. Easy to get appointments. Plenty of parking. Welcoming and bright waiting area. Friendly and easy service. Bill your insurance carrier if you have dental coverage. I've only had regular cleanings here and maybe once a cavity filling years ago. I cannot speak to what the dental surgery is like here, never had any. The dentists at Inspire are nice and professional in my experience.

She was coming from school and also there was construction all down the boulevard. How does a children's dentist not have a ten minute buffer? The receptionist was very rude about it and had no other appointments for over 6 months. We will be taking our business elsewhere. You expect your patients to wait but will not wait for them?
